I have a pc, which has broadband connection through Wired Modem. Is there any way to add any PCI/PCIe wireless card and use internet wirelessly in other devices like mobile phone and laptop. Still the connection from modem to pc will be wired and i don't want to go for a wireless modem option.

I then was able to change the address to a static address, still wired and still can see it with IE. However when I disconnect the rj-45 cable, power down and restart, I can't access the cam.

Can ping laptop and laptop can ping desktop. I have no issue on my desktop machine getting to the internet only issue is with laptop. I have disabled/removed all apparent firewalls/antivirus. Using Windows XP SP3 and both Firefox and IE. Proxy is off in Firefox and IE. . Have reset network adapters. Network adapters are set to get DNS and IP automatically. IP Config shows IP address and the DHCP and DNS Server addresses are correct (FIOS Router). Windows Firewall is disabled. Something is stopping me from going outside the local network.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an EA4500 router. It's the latest in a long line of Linksys routers I've owned and I'm pretty familiar with setting one up and making changes. But the EA4500 seems a bit more picky than previous routers. Last night I tried to enable port forwarding for ports 53, 80, and 88 for my xbox. I already had port 3074 forwarded. When I did that and applied the change, I lost all Internet connectivity. I tried cycling the power on the router with no luck. I finally got connected again by going to 192.168.1.1 and disabled those ports. The status page then said I had Internet connectivity but I really didn't at least right away. It took a couple minutes before I was actually able to to connect to the Internet again. What else should I check when it says I don't have internet connectivity?

I started having problems with conflicting IP's a couple days ago on one of my wired computers which was set for auto DHCP so I changed the settings and made it a static IP, this is when the problem started. I have Network Magic on all computers and even though it says I'm connected to the internet and the network, I am not able to get online. My other wired computer has been on Static IP for months and works fine.

Dell s laptop now works wirelessly but the IBM isnt working either wired/wiressly. When I connect the IBM laptop to the modem through the cable my Dell laptop stops working too, looses the wireless configuration too and in order to make it work again I have to plug it back to the modem andafterwards going wirelessly. I spoke to talktalk support and they confirmed that the line works fine therefore there is a problem with the IBM laptop which also causes problems to the DellLaptop.I domt know from where to start to get the laptops working again fine at the same time.

A week ago, my desktop (with Windows 7) stopped connecting to the internet over it's wireless connection. It would connect to the router and obtain an IP address, but couldn't connect to the internet. All other devices in my home can connect just fine. Through the course of trouble shooting I found out that I can't connect to the internet with my desktop using a wired connection either. Also, I'm using ATT, so the modem and router are 1 unit.
Here's what I have tried:
Reinstalling the drivers.Resetting the wireless router to factory settings.Changing the security settings on the router.Running netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log ;netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log; netsh winsock reset catalog and restarting TCP/IP v4 and v6 are set to get automatically Made sure MAC address wasn't being blocked on router. I tried disabling ipv6 I can ping myself (@ 127.0.0.1) and no packets are lost. I tried pinging my ip address from the router, and nothing got through. This was true using wired or wireless. I tried connecting to the routers configuration page (using its IP address) and I couldn't. Did a virus scan and nothing turned up.
my laptop, as well as my moms laptop, were working perfectly fine on wedensday. Yesterday however, i was randomly getting kicked off the internet, and i came to realize that whenever both of our laptops were on, only one could connect to the internet. the other one couldn't find the DNS server or whatever.so, after some frustration windows finally told me (on my laptop) that two computers were sharing the same ip address on my network. made sense i guess. so i went to CMD, typed ipconfig /release on my laptop, but it said media was disconnected so it didn't work. i then went onto my moms laptop, typed the same thing in CMD, and it released it fine. but then her battery died so i plugged it in to renew her ip.
once her computer got enough of a charge to turn on i went to cmd and typed ipconfig /renew, but it wouldn't renew it, saying media was disconnected. so, now her laptop and my laptop will not connect to wireless.on my laptop, i transfered my documents to another HDD and did a fresh install of windows. but even since, my laptop will not connect to the internet. when i trouble shoot it it says something about no networking drivers are installed, but i can't even install drivers because i have no internet im on her laptop right now, it will connect via ethernet cable.
I currently have a Linksys WCG200 wireless gateway cable modem. The computers in my office are connected to it via ethernet cables and I use the wireless signal in the rest of the house for my laptop and guests. I'm (still) using Win XP Pro on all the computers.I'm about to start a work at home job doing customer service and I am not allowed to have a wireless network that might broadcast customer information, so I need to be able to prevent that from happening. I'm assuming I'll need two separate networks?All computers need internet access and if it's possible I would still like to be able to share files between the two networks (assuming I need 2 different networks), but it's not the end of the world if I can't do that.

I can connect to the router just fine but it does not connect to the internet whether it be a wired or wireless connection. I have recently reset the router and haven't changed any settings besides the password. (also I get the error "Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (Microsoft Corporation: Software, Smartphones, Online, Games, Cloud Computing, IT Business Technology, Downloads) is not responding" from window when trying to repair the connection.)

I've recently moved house and have signed up with a new internet provider. I can't connect to the internet with a wired or wireless connection. My partner has got the wireless working perfectly on her laptop and I got wifi working on my phone with no problems, so I think it must be something specific with my computer.
I used a wireless connection in my old house, and I remember it took some time to get that working properly too, so obviously my computer doesn't like change!I'm now getting the IPv4/IPv6 connectivity messages and can't even get close to finding a network.

So I did that but I am not sure all the updates worked properly as the machine shut down but never rebooted after finishing updates. After I turned it back on I tried to connect to the internet through my wireless router (which is working fine for other devices), nothing. So I tried a wired connection, nothing again. The wireless is finding my router it is just not hooking up to the internet. I tried ipconfig/all in the cmd prompt and all it shows is that the media is disconnected??? Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on? The compute seems to be functioning fine except for the internet.

We have various other computers and devices that connect to the router (Thompson Gateway TG782T) without any problems. Just to be sure I've tried reseting the router to factory settings to no avail.
I've tried connecting her computer to the network through the TP-Link Wireless Adpater (TL-WN881ND) that came with her computer AND through a Netgear Wireless USB Adapter (WG111v2). In both situations the network is detected, the network password is requested (and accepted) but the result is always that she has 'limited connectivity', cannot access the internet and cannot detect any shared network drives.
I've tried connecting with an Ethernet cable as well, which her computer does not detect at all ('network cable unplugged').When I try to troubleshoot any of these problems I get a message that says 'The Diagnostics Policy Service is not running'.The guys at the shop where my sister had it built are asking her to bring the computer in with the router becuse they are convinced that the machine is fine, and that the router is at fault. My wife and daughters computers, which are wireless, see now slowdown. My computer is connected to the router thru the ethernet connection. The previous computer using win xp - 32, plugged into the same router had no unusual speed problems. I did turn off the windows 7 firewall. Did no good.Could there be some incompatibility between the router and win 7 - 64?? Are there some settings that need changing?

All internet both wired and wireless, access to server everything dead. I then have to directly connect to the service port and disable the global multicast mode. Then two reasons for enabling it are Docs2Go and LanSchool both require multicast to be enabled. I have it enabled on our wired network and it works OK there. ted.
