View 7 Replies View RelatedI have recently re-installed Windows XP on Dell Inspiron 2200 and notice that I no longer have the icon to view or repair wireless connections. I have installed drivers R91081.EXE (8MB), R92088.EXE (1MB) and INFEENUA.cab (195KB) from Dell web site – Drivers download page but can’t see to be able to bring up the icon.
Which driver(s) I need to download?
I have owned this laptop since 2005. It has been excellent so far and I would very much like to keep using it until it finally gives up.
I have the Wireless 5300 PCI Express Internal Half-Height Mini-Card ordered and now need to find the drivers. My system is a 1735 Studio laptop running 64bit Windows 7. The Dell sales rep said the card came only with the card and a flat head screw.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust purchased an Asus K532-BBR9 laptop. Everything works fine, except on college campus the internet is very slow, and disconnects every few minutes. My fellow students laptops do not seem to have this problem.I figured it may be a driver issue, so I am trying to update everything.Under Network Adapters in Device Manager. The Microsoft Virtual WiFI Miniport Adapter is not up to date when I do a driver update scan. Then it says "Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software.." with options to install anyways.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron I got last July that has Windows 7.It had been working well but the started to say there were no Wifi signals.. when I knew there was from the other computers and such. I would start up diagnosis and it would fix for say half hour, then I would do it again and each time only for a short time, reducing each time. The same happened when I disabled or even deleted and reinstall programme the wifi adapter (which it always had a pop up saying it didnt do it properly). It also keeps saying to plug in to wifi which works but doesnt solve the wifi issue.I even had my father in law who was an IT guy look at it and no clue.I am desperate to get it fixed as I have lots of assignments to be getting on with.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I bought a new netgear router. It has two separate wireless signals. One is the main wireless connection for my computers. The other is a slower backup network for smartphones, apple tv, and guests. All of the other devices in the house can find both signals, but my main PC is only finding the backup network. It works fine for general browsing, but is very slow for downloads and unusable for gaming

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a centrally managed wireless hotspot system. But the system has a few requirements. I have been looking around but so far I have not found a system that ticks all the boxes?
-The system (AP's) needs to be centrally managed (except for the internet connections, each site will use its own outgoing connection to the internet).
-The system needs to have some kind of ticket system for guest access (hotspot).
-It also needs to be able to identify employees so they can pass through without needing a ticket, everywhere they go.

View 4 Replies View RelatedA retailer (Best Buy's Geek Squad) made adjustments to my Linksys E3000 router when I bought a Sony Media Player from them a number of months ago. It was the first wireless device integrated into my wired LAN network (three computers).
In attempting to set up a GUEST connection, I pulled up Cisco Connect which I originally used to set up my network. The BB Geek didn't use a key and followed a different procedure unknown to me.
As I face the Cisco Connect screen now, it tells me "Can't access your router settings. The router password has been changed." Then in the "Router password" block, it gives the original password I assigned.
I had written another name I thought was associated with the changes made by the BB Geek so I copied the password there now, inserted the new PW, and clicked Next. I was then asked if I wanted to proceed with the change ... but the change it was proposing was the exact PW I just copied. Confused, I cancelled the operation.
I recently upgraded the OS on my laptop to Windows 7, which wiped out most of my older Vista settings. When I try to connect to my home network, I am prompted for a security key (network key?). How do I find the security key? I can't find any of the paperwork that came with my router.
By the way, I am currently using my desktop, running under Windows XP.
My wife has a laptop that we want hooked up to the internet through our linksys wireless router. But I cannot remember my security key or passphrase needed to get her on the connection. How do I recover, or find, it?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm checking a mini laptop for a friend and found out that the wireless does not work on it. First I tried checking the button to activate it and it didn't work, even if the indicador says it's off/on it doesn't have an effect on the network adapter. The PC is running Windows 7 32-bit. I downloaded the Ralink 2011 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter driver and tried reinstalling it. Funny thing is that the installation went smoothly but in the driver details the name of the driver shows the default Windows one, 3.0.0.14 I beleive. Tried again to install the driver since I thought it was a bad download or something but the same results. I've tried with the Atheros driver but the installer said that since the card is not present no drivers would be installed, so I assume that the model is the Ralink. So far the network card appears disabled on the network adapter window, and if I try to enable it, it remains disabled.
