I bought it for a few Euros in France where it is known as the "SurfOne mini PC Ref. INOS1CE"; I think it is the same as the Chinese "OEM mini laptop netbook". It has a 7" screen, a 2 MB memory and claims to run on Windows CE 6.0.My problem is that after successfully connecting via WiFi to my "Orange Livebox" modem and router for a few days, I then lost that connection and can connect now only by cable.When I turn on WiFi power, it recognizes the "Livebox", but then states that it is not receiving any signal and the connection fails. My 2Wire modem/router from AT&T was failing to stay connected and was replaced today with a Netgear 7550 modem/router from AT&T. I installed the Netgear 7550 and am able to access the internet with my Asus Laptop, my LG Thrill phone, and my Samsung Galaxy 2 tablet with no problems. However, my Desktop cannot connect to the internet and the Window Network diagnostics returned the following message: Network Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration. How do I go about connecting my desktop to the Netgear modem/router so that I have access to the internet? By the way I am able to connect to the internet using an ethernet cable and a LAN connection.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron Mini 10 Netbook, when I'm trying to connect to a wireless network I get the message 'Acquring Network Address'. I can connect fine using a wired connection, but using the Wirless 1397 WLAN Mini card it won't connect.
I tried to log a call with Dell as the machine is only 2 months old and someone remotely connected and said it was a software fault not hardware and they would charge me to resolve the issue. I found that hard to swallow so thought I would try here.
I am having problems connecting to the internet. I've tried changing my security from WPA to WEP and back again. I've searched these forums for a solution and nothing has worked. I've changed my antenna output to Aux from Auto as one thread suggested, but no luck.
For a time, I could connect to my wireless BT Home Hub 2, but the range was pathetic (about 4 metres). I've tried connecting to my partners home wireless connection, and again, same problem. Now the connection is virtually nothing. If I am lucky enough to get a connection then it will be poor and usually fail within 2 minutes.

I got a Studio 1535 Laptop which comes with a Broadcom WiFi card that is named "Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-Card" in the Hardware Manager.
I tried to connect to my ZyXel WiFi router but though i had it all configured right, Windows would always come up with "you entered the wrong key". After playin around for some time i figured out that everything just works fine when i switched my router from WPA-PSK to WPA2-PSK. My router features both WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK but since my other PC does only support WPA-PSK the router is set to that and i want it to stay that way. I just don't want to buy new hardware for all my other computers.
So is this WiFi card strictly incompatible with WPA-PSK? Does'nt make any sense to me because WPA2 works just fine! Normally they are downwards compatible aren't they? (Moreover, when setting up a connection i can choose WPA-PSK from the dropdown menu.
I have new Inspiron 1720 running Vista with the Dell wireless 1390 WLAN mini-card. I will be connected to the wireless network just fine, but it will then disconnect. My problem is I cannot re-connect to it without having to do a total restart. I go to the place to refresh the list, and it finds nothing. I ask it to repair the network, and it can't becasue it cannot find a network. I have at least 4 other networks in the area that I can normally see, and none appear when I hit the refresh button. But I totally restart the system, and everything works fine again (until it drops again).
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have a simple work network setup. 7 machines total.Basic cheap DSL line going into WRT54GS.WRT54GS controls DHCP.Cat going from WRT54GS to Switch.5 CPUS connected to switch2 CPUS connected to WRT54GS wirelessly. One server that is actually running 7-Pro. Basically, it is a central file server.No active directory.6 of 7 machines running 7 pro. one machine running XP pro.
Problem: The five machines that are wired work great. The two that are wireless will not connect to any machine on network after a period of several hours. If I boot all CPU's, everything works. Give it about 12 hours and the two wireless won't see the file server, or other machines.I moved them to static but that does not seem to work. Not a lot of traffic moving around on this network.If I reboot the win 7 machine that is wireless, it seems to work for a couple hours again.
I think I am having problem with my network card I am running windows 7 with Dell wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card lots of times the signal is low and I get the error message no internet connectivity or some other error message that I am not being able to connect to the network provided by my wimax modem, Is there any program that I can download to test if there are any errors related to the network card or any way to fix this?

Per a separate thread, I went to the command prompt to try to run the ipconfig all but it comes up as user/owner and I don't know how to get to admin mode. Also, the proxy option is unchecked.

The system is now running fine (picture, DVD drive, sound etc )although, it will not detect the Wireless Adapter, hence the wireless will not work.I went to the manufacturer's computer website and downloaded the driver and (I think ) installed the driver on the laptop.The yellow "wireless" light on the front of laptop is not lit, even though it is switched to on.Am I right in thinking it is the wireless network adapter that isn't working and not the driver as when I go to "Device Manager" and look at the Network Drives, it only shows the wired Ethernet option. This added to the fact the yellow wireless light doesn't come on, on the front makes me think it is the adapter and not the driver.

Going into the menus it shows my drive as having full capacity available. Well i konw thats not true. i unplugged it and directly connected it to a PC. All of my info was there. I connected it back to the router and nothing. No shares of any sorts. It shows it detected the drive. Does not show USB speed and does not allow you to create new shares.

I have been using the WUSB54GSC for several years with no issues until a few months ago. Periodically, it will lose connection to the network. It shows it is connected, but I can not ping the router or do anything else unless I reboot the computer. Thinking it was the WUSB54GSC (I had the Ver 1) I got a new one (a Ver 2). Same thing except now it seems to be happening more frequently (one time, less than an hour after rebooting). I have moved it to other USB ports, uninstalled and reinstalled it, everything I can think of.

Recently, I decided to link the two computers with XP using the network wizard. Followed instructions, and everything worked fine until the other day, when the main computer couldn't 'see' second computer (but second computer could see main.) I've checked file sharing and firewall exceptions and all is well. Basically, I am using second computer as extra storage, and so I really would like to make connection again from main computer, not the other way round. The issue is that there is a lost in connection and they are completely disconnected from the network. I look at the port number labeled at their cubicle and check the switch they are connected too and this is what I see on the switch. Which by the way is a dell PowerConnect 3548 switch.URL
After removing from those ports and placing the patch cable into another port it works normally. But after a few days this issue returns only to find it with a different user.
