I've a Dell laptop with Windows XP. I was able to connect to my own secured wireless network. Suddenly no networks are found anymore where my other laptops are able to find wireless networks. Repairing the wireless network connection does not resolve the problem.how I can find my wireless connections again?

I have the above mentioned WMP54GS. And I just got a Windows 7 capable computer and got it installed. Now I can't find a driver that will work at all. Other than the Broadcom drivers that Windows installs naturally. (The Broadcom drivers are terrible. I play World of Warcraft and when before on my old Vista 64-Bit system I would get around 50 to 60 MS I now get 180 to 200. ) How to get this to work.

Just purchased an Asus K532-BBR9 laptop. Everything works fine, except on college campus the internet is very slow, and disconnects every few minutes. My fellow students laptops do not seem to have this problem.I figured it may be a driver issue, so I am trying to update everything.Under Network Adapters in Device Manager. The Microsoft Virtual WiFI Miniport Adapter is not up to date when I do a driver update scan. Then it says "Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software.." with options to install anyways.

I recently upgraded my Wi-Fi router to an EA3500 and am controlling it using Smart Wi-Fi running on a wired Windows 7 machine. So far, I have been able to add devices to the network without issue and each of those connections works fine. All, except my TV, have been Windows 7 based machines. Smart Wi-Fi Device List has been able to "see" each device and I have been able to add them to that list as well.
I am attempting to add a Windows 8 desktop computer to the network which is using a external USB wireless adapter. That computer can see and connect to the network through the EA3500 and the connection seems to work fine. The only issue is that its adapter does not show up in the Device List.
1) Does the Device List do anything else besides showing a list of devices I chosen to add to my network?
2) How do I get my Windows 8 wireless adapter to show up in the Device List?

I've got an old LinkSys adapter in my tower right now, and I'd really like to upgrade. Unfortunately, the reviews I've seen indicate that a lot of wireless adapters have serious problems with 64-bit Windows 7. My router is also LinkSys.

Had possible malware problems. Wife's email hijacked. Deleted her account. Purchased Emisoft Anti Malware Guard, even though I was already supposedly protected through Comcast with Norton and ran Spybot for a long time. Followed the recommendations of the Emisoft Anti-Malware as it ran. I think I may have shut down some things that were probably safe as I did this. At any rate I can no longer see my Wireless Adaptor, so I can't connect to the wireless network that is running (2 laptops connected to it and it is working fine). I restarted WLAN Auto Config Service. I read in this forum and in some others things to try: Shut off (Unplugged, Modem, Router), PC and restarted each one in that order after waiting a good minute.
Ran some things from CMD prompt to release and restore ipconfig. On one of these as the system listed things I saw that my wireless adaptor showed, but a line about tunnel adaptor showed that the media was disconnected. This acts to me just like what happens on a laptop when the wireless card gets shut off. The malware thing that lead into this really freaked me out. When I run Windows Live Mail I get a box with a heading 'Mail" that pops up "We have noticed some unusual activity in your account. Your action is needed to make sure no one is using your account. To continue click OK." I started down that route a few weeks ago and bailed out when I saw what they were asking. I wonder if the malware hosed some things or if I did in running the anti malware?

The LAN adapter is disconnected since I'm not using it lmao. I meant the wifi adapter. So I bought this new laptop, ASUS G46vw but since yesterday I can't connect to the wifi. It connects but it shows as "Limited Connection - No Internet Access". I already went to the wireless adapter power proprieties - Power Management and unchecked the "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option. But I still get no internet access. have now been trying to get a wireless adapter to work on my computer for a couple of days now. I ordered a refurbished Cisco AE2500 and tried for hours to get it to work to no avail. I can't quite rember everything I tried to get it to work, but I will try. When I try to install from the installation CD it will not detect the adapter. I tried to download the drivers from the internet, but windows did not recognize them. I tried to update the drivers through device manage and windows update and that did not work. I updated all motherboard drivers and BIOS. I tried unplugging the power from the wall. I tried resetting the BIOS. After all of that, I decided that the adapter must not work.Today I went to Staples and bought a NETGEAR G54/N150 USB Micro Adapter. I ran the setup CD, put the adapter in and it detected. It would not connect to the router for some reason, and I thought it may have been because I set it to use the push to connect feature and the router did not have that feature, so, I uninstalled the software and tried to reinstall using just the stand alone windows driver and now my computer won't even detect it. I went through most of the things I went through with the first router again and nothing has worked

Afterwards, I put on Wireless Adaptor with Win 7 to XP. Now, I can not get Internet on PC/XP. How to get Internet on XP with Wireless Adapter which was on Windows 7?

Any cheap wireless adapter for windows 7? Like around $20 and usb interface? I have a 2wire router that was setup by at&t (not sure if I can change it cus tv and everything goes through one box), and they threw in a 2wire wireless adapter, but it sucks. It randomly drops signal and doesn't get a very strong signal even though the router is 20 feet away. I had a cheap trendnet adapter for my xp machine but couldn't find drivers for windows 7.Also do you think the reason it drops is the adapter or possible the router? Cus I watch netflix through nintendo wii which is in the same room as the router and that never has any issues and gets great bandwidth. My laptop with an internal card never seems to have much trouble either... pretty sure I should replace the adapter.

I just moved into a new place and I've been having a lot of trouble with the wireless connection. There are 4 other people sharing the wireless and none of them seem to have problems, and my phone connects fine, but my laptop will randomly lose internet access while still detecting the network. When I run the troubleshooter it says it has reset the wireless adapter, and the connection will work again, but sometimes only for a few minutes before it craps out. I don't have access to the wireless router itself, so doing anything with that will require asking the landlady (who doesn't speak English well). I had access fine for the first two days after I moved in. I did install a couple of programs after that: 7-Zip and Flash Player 11.2 (since the newest Flash version crashes my Firefox). I don't know if that could have anything to do with it.
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit on an Asus laptop. After searching around the forum a bit, I followed the instructions in this post and will paste the results here. I don't know if the ping address starting with 206 might be invalid since the post is from several years ago.

I just reformatted the hardrive on my old Gateway MA3 dinosaur laptop and reloaded Windows XP. Once loaded, no Wireless Network Connection icon appears in Network Connections and is not showing up as a Network Adaptor in Device Manager. The adptor is a Broadcom BCM94318MPG(802.11b/g) device on my. I have an XP CD and the original Gateway Windows XP CD and cannot get Windows to find the driver on the cds. Can't connect to the internet so I can't get anyupdates. Is there a way test the adaptor to see if it's cooked or not? Is there a procedure to get the machine to recognize the adaptor?

I have a Gateway Notebook Model ML6720 that has built-in Wireless. The PC was heavily infected by Virus and I had to re-install Vista Operating system. Now, it will not detect the Wireless Adapter. I went to the maufacturer's website on another computer and downloaded the driver and installed the driver on the laptop. However, it did not work. The blue "wireless" light on the laptop is "lit", however when I go to "Device Manager" and look at the Network Drives, it only shows the wired Ethernet option.

I am running Windows 7 with the WUSB600N (v.2). Here is how I got it to work. The driver support is not a .exe. You will have to install it yourself...but it's not a big deal.Download the Windows 7 driver for your OS version from the Linksys Support page.Save it to the desktop and then unzip it to the desktop so you can find it easier.Once unzipped you will see 3 folders: Mac, Win7 32 and Win7 64. Choose accordingly. What I did was install it through the "Device Manager". (Right click "My Computer", choose "Manage", then Device Manager",or use the "Search Bar under the Start Menu...whatever. Once you are in the Device Manager...
1. Make sure your WUSB600N is inserted in your computer.
2. Navigate down to "Network Adapters" If you see your WUSB600N adapter...great! Your halfway home!
3. Right click on the "Linksys WUSB600N Adapter.
4. Choose the option to " Update Driver Software"
5. Choose "Browse My Computer for Software"
6. Navigate to the desktop and choose the folder that contains the name of your Windows 7 platform.
7. It should update but, HOLD ON! We are not done yet!!!
In order for it to start transmitting in that shiny new 5GHZ band, you must go into "Network and Sharing Center". Once there, look on the left hand side of the main window and you will see "Change adapter settings"Go there. You should see here that your existing adapter is still working (enabled) and your new Linksys WUSB600N has a big fat red "X" under it (disabled).Right click on your existing adapter and choose, "DISABLE".Then, right click on the WUSB600N adapter and choose "ENABLE".The last thing you should have to do is choose the network you want to connect to (for me it was the 5GHZ one) ..and Viola!!

I've got a bit of an issue. A friend of mine has recently gotten windows 7 installed into his desktop. When he tried to install the network adapter (wusb11 version 2.8), it installed. However, when we searched for it in the device manager, it did not appear. does Version 2.8 only cover up to Windows XP or is there software to make it work for Windows 7?
