My wireless adapter sees all the networks within range but I am not able to see them listed under windows network connection and there cannot connect even to my own network.
View 1 RepliesWe have an 871 vpn router conntected back to our main facility ASA5500. The VPN tunnel seems to come and go for no reason we can find.
The weird thing of all this is that we can only ping some subnets and not everything even though we alow all networks to be routed.
This is one of those things we keep looking at but for some reason just can't find the problem. Hoping another set of eyes spots something obvious.....

My wireless router will no longer appear on the list of available networks, but it can find others. My partner's laptop will find it instantly! So it's obviously something on my computer.

I have new DIR-615 D-link router. Since we installed it the network has disappeared randomly off the available networks list, and when I try and open Google Chrome it says there's DNS error. Troubleshooting through windows networks doesn't work because it can't find any problems since my network doesn't even show up on the list. We've even done a factory reset and the problem persists, and it does this about once a day. Resetting the router temporarily fixes the problem. This problem is happening on all 3 laptops in our home, two of which run windows 7 and one which runs XP.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having a setup problem with the RE1000. When I plug it in, my laptop is able to see it, and I'm able to access it and attempt to set it up. However, once I tell it how to connect to my main wireless router, and it attempts to log onto my wireless network, the RE1000 disappears from my list of networks. My blu-ray player also cannot see it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been running WHSV1 for at least 3 years now without any problems. Upgraded my client to Windows 7 and stream movies etc.. no issues at all. I gave "guest" account enabled with full access on the WHS server machine and just mapped theshares on my laptop..Anyway, I did some updates on my windows7 laptop and now the computer can no longer see the "server" machine."Server" appears in "other devices" in windows explorer but I can't do anything with it. Just takes me to a page server.com by godaddy.Also, I can no longer use RDP from within my own network! Says the SERVER machine does not exist.I can log in to the server just fine using logmein.
Also, made sure the windows machine has the network that it joined set to "home." I've had a similar problem years ago when I used to use zone alarm but I don't know how to fix it now. It's as if a firewall is blocking it or something.
When I'm home I can get online but it's slow webstar. I used to be able to get online at the local McDonalds with free wi-fi, real fast. Now, the connection list doesn't show the "FREE McDonalds" connection.
I have: Atheros AR5B97 Wireless Network Adapter, Windows 7 on ACER Aspire 7741z-4815. It has been updating until recently, don't know if it's because I haven't been online as often or what.
I am facing a problem since today as my WiFi is turned on, but i cannot view the list of networks that is available in my workplace. When i asked my colleague whether he could view the list in his laptop, he was able to. And also when i checked through my smart phone i was able to view a list of wireless networks. So it means there is some error in my laptop. I realised this when i tried creating a AD-HOC connection which eventually resulted in 'Windows cannot set up NETWORK NAME'. Why is it that i am not able to view the list of wireless network? And why can't i establish a AD-HOC connection?

It shows up fine in list of networks on my girlfriends Mac and on my new laptop, but on my older laptop it doesnt show up at all (whereas a lot of other networks do). Seeing as my current laptop is being repaired at the moment, I need to be able to connect to the net with my old laptop too.
I run Windows XP Professional on my laptop, which is a Compaq Presario f700. why the network doesnt show up?
I have a ASUS PCE-N13 card I am trying to connect to my N network. It is a Netgear WNDR3700 v2 running DD-WRT. It does not even show up in my list of networks, yet I see a neighbor's N network. I updated the drivers and I still do not see it. .
View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday I booted up my new custom desktop and today I installed my wireless PCI card. The drivers are installed and it recognizes one or two networks in my vicinity, but my home network and probably about 10 more are not showing up. I tried re installing the drivers but no luck. I was able to get my network to appear about 50% of the time I searched. I also was able to rarely establish a connection, but the speed was extremely slow and was lost in less than a minute.
View 2 Replies View RelatedA couple of weeks ago, my laptop (vista) suddenly started not detecting any wireless networks anymore. Wired internet still works. Wireless suddenly went 'poof'.Since then, I tried basically everything. I rebooted the wireless adapter, rebooted laptop, the network is most definately in range of the laptop, updated the driver and all didn't work. Yes, the adapter is turned on, obviously. When I look into device manager, there are yellow exclamation marks next to the microsoft 6to4 adapter and the ISATAP adapter, so I also tried updating those. Didn't do anything. They still show a code 10. So i disabled both of them, also didn't work. I deleted and reinstalled both too. I even tried disabling 6to4 in the bios but didn't work.Device manager says my Intel (R) wifi Link 5100 AGN adapter works perfectly. Also updated it, un- and reinstalled it => no effect.
Though, even without those exclamation marks, i'm pretty sure my network doesn't send out much ip6 stuff, so it should still work... But it's not just my network at home, it simply won't detect any wireless networks anymore.Also tried windows recovery to put it back in the state before it wouldn't work anymore, but no effect.
I took this wifi adapter from a pc that isn't being used, and decided to plug it into one that is. While it was in the other pc, it worked, now that it's in this pc it doesn't detect ANY wifi networks. I decided to plug it into a laptop and it worked the minute the drivers were installed.The problems are as follows:
* When plugged into the pc, the adapter's utility app just says "Checking status" and no info being displayed thereafter.
* Windows says the device is working, but it does not come up in the Internet Access popup window in the task bar.
* No info comes up in Xirrus except for the name of the adapter.
I installed both the drivers that came with the adapter, and the latest drivers from windows update. Neither worked.It is a Billion BiPAC 3011N adapter.
Having trouble with the TP-Link WN722N that I bought from Newegg. It doesn't show any networks on my desktop that runs on Win7. Took the drivers straight from the CD. It works fine on my other laptops and desktop.

I went to try and reconnect but my Belkin N Wireless USB adapter could not find any wireless networks to connect to. While searching for a connection, the light starts blinking like it is searching, but then it says that it can't find any. Also, when I plug in the adapter, a popup comes up saying that there are wireless networks nearby, but when I click it there are still none.
I've tried reinstalling drivers but still nothing. I'm not sure what else to try because I'm afraid I might mess something up even more.
I own a Dell Studio 1747, i7, 8GB, etc.It has a DW1520 Wireless-N half-mini card.Yesterday I encountered a problem with my wireless adapter when it stopped recognizing my home network (wireless), although it did recognize other networks as the neighbors.I did every reasonable step while trying to restart the router, then disable and enable wireless, then restarted the laptop.Nothing worked and it could not recognize the network nor to connect to it as a hidden network.After taking a (not so good) advise from a friend, I cleared the wireless network list and then uninstalled the adapter from the device manager.I then restarted again and counted on the Windows 7 (home, 64 bit) to re-install the adapter.
Since then I'm experiencing bigger trouble when I probably missed a driver or a device.I tried to download and install the drivers for the adapter from Dell's size and got "R249128.exe", then installed it. Still no change.I cannot enable the wireless connection at all and when doing a diagnose to the "Wireless Network Connection" I get the message: "There might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter".Since I am clueless now, although I do plan to check with a Linux boot cd that the adapter is working.
Have installed a TP-Link TL-WN722N wireless USB adapter.O/Sis Win XP SP3.Np options are showing for Wireless networks under Network Connections.Wireless Zero Conifguration is on.When I run a QSS app I can see neighbours network but not my own (My equipment doesn't support QSS) so the card and driver are working.
View 7 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I changed over to my new ISP (Orange). I have installed their router but the Linksys Adapter can't find it?I have laptop which found the Orange router straight away so it is working correctly. Also, the laptop lists around 10 networks in the area.
The WUSB54GS adapter finds just 1 or 2 networks but never the new Orange network I have set-up.I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, downloading the version updates but nothing works.
Recently purchased a Lenovo Ideapad Y580 and performed a fresh install of Win 7 Premium 64-bit on a new SSD. Installed latest drivers for all hardware but discovered after the install that my wireless adapter wasn't able to find any wireless networks (it worked find under Windows 8 when laptop was first unboxed). My wired connection works fine though, I am able to connect up to my network without issue using a network cable. Also, I am able to connect to my home wireless network without issue using another laptop.In addition, the adapter icon in my tray shows a red-X on it. I've found many issues through web searches that suggest driver updates or hardware disable/enable steps but neither of these approaches have worked for me. I am holding off re-installing my OS until I've tried some more simpler and less time consuming options. I recently upgraded my Wi-Fi router to an EA3500 and am controlling it using Smart Wi-Fi running on a wired Windows 7 machine.So far, I have been able to add devices to the network without issue and each of those connections works fine. All, except my TV, have been Windows 7 based machines. Smart Wi-Fi Device List has been able to "see" each device and I have been able to add them to that list as well.
I am attempting to add a Windows 8 desktop computer to the network which is using a external USB wireless adapter. That computer can see and connect to the network through the EA3500 and the connection seems to work fine. The only issue is that its adapter does not show up in the Device List.
1) Does the Device List do anything else besides showing a list of devices I chosen to add to my network?
2) How do I get my Windows 8 wireless adapter to show up in the Device List?
I was on the computer, it went into standby due to low battery. Turned it back on, and it wouldnt connect to the net as it couldnt find any connections. Tried repairing - to no avail. Checked all my networks were working, and enabled one that wasn't. Restarted computer still no connections being found to connect to.Windows XP, Asus, Service Pack 3, Version 2002.

I just moved today into my brother's old apartment and for some reason I can't connect to his wireless network. I can see it along with a number of other wireless networks, but I'm unable to connect to any of them. When I attempt to connect to a network absolutely nothing happens. Typically at the bottom right corner of my screen something will pop up saying it's trying to connect, but for some reason that isn't popping up. I know it's not a problem with the router because I'm unable to connect to any of the networks, and I also had no trouble when I tried to connect to it with my laptop.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWindows XP on an older Dell Latitude. All wireless settings appear to be on, yet "no wireless networks are found in range" All other devices in the house see the same 3 networks (mine, mifi, and next door), so this is specific to this machine.
Also, I normally keep this laptop docked, 95% of the time, and earlier in the week disabled the wireless (right click on icon, disable) as I normally do when connected to the dock, since it seems to perform faster (no testing, just my opinion)
Other factors: The computer got undocked without normal undock procedure taking place.
Don't know if this is related, but the sound wasn't working either the last few days I have redocked, rebooted, restarted, checked every possible config I can think of, checked the router to be sure that my device was still listed, etc.

Not sure why, but he "hid" the two available wireless networks so they do not show up as available. How do I go about "unhiding" them? He left a folder on my computer that says "main router config" but it is a .bin file and I cannot open it. I did find out what our IP address is, but when I type it in the URL it does not show up.

Once it was done, I tried connecting to the internet but the computer could not detect ANY wireless networks!I already know it is not the modem or router because I have a Macbook Pro and two HP laptops that connect perfectly fine to the modem.
