I have a Linksys WRT120N wireless router. I am currently only using wired connections to the router. I recently bought a Nexus 7 tablet computer and would like to connect to the Internet wirelessly. How do I turn on the wirelss capability of my router securely?
View 3 RepliesI have WRT120N, i recently updated the firmware. 1.0.06. only my bad is i done it wireless. so its basically interrupted.I have tried, hard reset and power cycle and reinstall the firmware but still the problem occurs, this time its wired.it happens intermittently. i have tried pressing reset upon turn on and reinstall firmware on the bootloader. it stablized for a while but then disconnects and blinking stikes again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Studio XPS 1340. Running Vista. Sat evening I was on the net, and had left the machine for a while. I refreshed a page using F5 after 10 mins inactivity, and the WIFI had dropped. I have the Dell Wireless 1515 Wireless N adaptor. I cannot find any wireless networks, and the error message I get is to "Turn on wireless capability".
On the Studio XPS 13 there is no wireless switch, to turn on/off the wireless. I've tried to turn on the wireless using Fn + F2, and I have also unchecked the "allow computer to turn off this device to save power." box. rebooted any further suggestions? I've disabled and enabled the wireless network card a couple of times, drivers seem to be working correctly. when I try to update the drivers I'm told they are the most up to date drivers available.
Might this be McAfee related? Have I inadvertently turned off the wireless using a shortcut key by accident?
My wireless internet has been working perfectly well on my XPS 17 (L701X) until last weeky. I was on the internet and then my wireless turned off suddenly. the error message says "turn wireless capability on". BUt on the wardware, the witch is on, but when I check windown mobility center, it shows "wireless off" . Ran network diagnostics, but same error massage "turn wireless capability on". For now, when it happens, I need to restart my computer and it back to nomal. This happens at least 3-4 times a day.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently switched my router from an older Linksys WRT 54GS to an E3000. The WRT 54GS was working perfectly fine, but I needed to upgrade to a 802.11n router to use with some of my devices at home. I unplugged all the cables from the WRT54GS, and connected all the cables into the E3000 - in the exact same sockets and order they were on the old router. When powering on, all the lights eventually turned on (Power, Internet and Ports 1 to 4), except the wifi is still off. I tried running the installation CD, but it says it cannot find the network. I tried a reset (back button) as well as 30-30-30 reset, but no matter what I do, the wifi indicator still doesn't turn on. When switching back to the old router, it has no problem broadcasting a wifi signal again. Is there anything else I should try, either on my PC settings or the E3000 router itself?

I have a Netgear wndr3400, I HATE the wireless on that router. Its unreliable but I like the features, the guest network and transfer meter, plus its worked with 4 360's out of the box. So would it be possible to turn off my wifi on the Netgear and plug the wrt54gs2 in and use its wireless?

Cox blames it on Toshiba and Netgear and netgear blames it on Toshiba. i blame it on Cox who says for some reason my Toshiba wont allow the signal to be picked up. The wifi connection is working on the laptops (Mac and Windows). Just not connecting to the phones.
I have an Airport Express and two wireless routers. The Airport Express is connected to Router 1 via Ethernet. Router 2 is connected to Router 1 via Ethernet. Since I like to know which Wireless Router I'm connected to, Router 1 & 2 use different SSIDs. Router 1 is the DHCP server (DHCP turned off on Router 2). All security settings are turned OFF.Router 1 is a Linksys WRT120N with latest firmware and Router 2 is a Belkin Wireless Router.I can connect via wireless to Router 1 and Router 2 via the seperate SSIDs and have Internet connectivity (Router 1 is connected the the Internet) and print to a wireless printer connecter to the Router 1 wireless network.
Now here is the strange thing. I can see the Airport Express only if I connect to the Router 2 wireless network!!! I cannot see it if I connect to the Router 1 wireless network, yet the Airport Express is connected via Ethernet to ROUTER 1 !So for some reason, the LinkSys WRT120N Wireless Router won't route the Airport Express to a wireless client on it's own wireless network, but it will route it to an Ethernet client which is what any client connected to Router 2 wirelesslessly is seen as. When connected to router 1 wirelessly I can ping the IP of the Airport but something is preventing it from working with iTunes/iPhone/Airport Utility. It is bizarre because these are all devices connected to the same LAN. SInce I can ping it, it tells me that it isn't a routing issue, but there must be some sort of filter between the wireless and ethernet that is preventing the Airport protocol from being transmitted.
I have a Cisco Linksys Router Model WRT120N - which is connect wirelessly to my MAC home computer. I also have a Dell D630 Laptop using WindowsXP. I have recently moved and my laptop used to connect to my wireless router (when I was at my old house) But now at my new house my laptop wont connect. It will connect wirelessly at other locations. View 1 Replies View Related I just switched to Roadrunner Lightening via Brighthouse Networks. There is no configuration capability in the Cable modem/ router / wireless - Ubee provided to make the Modem a bridge. You have to call Brighthouse to do that. They indicated that they only do that for supported routers and the EA 4500 is not one of them. I'm ready to call them to say I have one of the supported modems so "do it" and then find out what happens.
Meanwhile I have connected my EA4500 through their router and have a network in a network. I've noticed another more significant problem. The speeds through the EA 4500 drop to 90%. Is there something wrong with the router configuration that would cause this significant drop in speed? I'm afraid if the problem is the EA 4500.
