Linksys Wireless Router :: EA4500 - No Configuration Capability In Cable Modem?

I just switched to Roadrunner Lightening via Brighthouse Networks. There is no configuration capability in the Cable modem/ router / wireless - Ubee provided to make the Modem a bridge. You have to call Brighthouse to do that.  They indicated that they only do that for supported routers and the EA 4500 is not one of them.  I'm ready to call them to say I have one of the supported modems so "do it" and then find out what happens.

Meanwhile I have connected my EA4500 through their router and have a network in a network.  I've noticed another more significant problem.  The speeds through the EA 4500 drop to 90%.  Is there something wrong with the router configuration that would cause this significant drop in speed?  I'm afraid if the problem is the EA 4500.
I can think of from different cables, factory settings, etc. Can't connect to modem straight from computer for some reason, but my old linksys wrt54g still works. I can connect to the router wirelessly and access settings fine. When i try to use cisco connect, the install stops at 25%
getting ready to do the install of a EA4500 with a Cable internet provider. I found the site on Cisco on how to manually install the router with Cable [URL]It advises to first install using the software that comes with the router.It then gives the following steps:
Step 1:Access the router’s web-based setup page. For instructions, click here.NOTE: If you are using a Mac computer to access the router’s web-based setup page, click here.
Step 2:On the Setup tab, click the MAC Address Clone sub-tab.Step 2:Check the Internet IP Address. If it has numbers, this means the router has been properly configured.
NOTE: If the Internet IP Address values are showing up 0.0.0.0, click on Release IP Address then the Renew IP Address buttons.NOTE: For wireless-B and wireless-G routers, click on the DHCP Release and DHCP Renew buttons. MY QUESTION: are the steps above something that definately will need to be done or is that in the case that it's not configured via the installation using the software?I have this same router installed at my home however I use DSL internet and my daughter uses Cable internet so I want to make sure I am positive on the steps prior to installing.
Got the cisco EA4500 router, installed it and ran the set up disc. It downloads whatever it needs to download, then proceeds with a progress bar all the way to 100. Then it tells me my internet cable is unplugged, but I able to browse the intrnet, like now. It tells me to plug it in and hit next, I hit next and it eventually gives me the same message. I've tried unplugging my modem, resetting the router etc. But when trying to run the disc when it gets to that point it always tells me my internet is unplugged? I can even browse the internet while that message is up.
I've bought the EA4500 and configured it to connect to internet. it works fine.however, one day after it, it can't connect to the internet anymore. I go to the router setup page and try to manually connect it to the internet, but it keeps "connecting." I then restore to its factory configuration, then do the configuration again and it can successfully connect to the internet.however, one day after it, again, it can't connect to the internet anymore.
I have a TPLink WDR3600 wireless router wired to AT&T's cable modem. The modem assigned this ip to the router: 192.168.1.60. The router creates a network with these IPs: 192.168.0.x
Question: I want to be able to RDP into my laptop that's connected to the router (ip: 192.168.0.4). Before I had a router I would just open the firewall on the cable modem and expose the laptop but now it feels like there's two layers i need to go though: the cable modem and then the router.
How do those two work together? Should I put the router in the cable modem's DMZ Zone and then just work on the router?If I want to open just a port do i need to open it both on the cable modem and the router? How does the incoming connection know which device to go to? How does it know to go to 192.168.0.4 instead of 192.168.0.2 for example?
Here's the components: 1 - AT&T 2Wire cable modem. Internet comes in the house through this box. Assigns IPs like this: 192.168.1.xxx 2 - TP-Link WDR3600 gigabit/wireless router. Assigns IPs like this: 192.168.0.xxx 3. WD My Book Network Storage. Wired connection. 4. Desktop PC. Wired connection. 5. Laptop PC. Wireless. 6. 1 ipad, 2 iphones. Wireless.
Current setup: 1. internet cable goes into 2Wire Modem.Wireless on this device is OFF. 2. cable goes from LAN port on modem to WDR3600 router's internet port 3. cables go out from router to Desktop PC and Network Storage 4. all other devices are connected to the 5GHz wireless network created by the router.
I can't get a new IP from my ISP when my Cable modem router(EPC3925) is set to router mode, i have tried factory restore, unplugged etc..but still no luck. It changes each time i reset it when i set it to bridged only mode but then i won't be able to connect other devices to it since it doesn't uses DHCP in bridged only mode. It changes back to the IP i had when i set it to router mode. I don't want to change my router settings to bridged only because it would disconnect the other devices in my house. Why my ISP assigns the same IP address when it's set to router mode but assigns different IPs when it's set to bridged only, how is this possible ?
Our router is connected through a cable modem and If I connect my computer directly wired to the cable modem, I have no problem, it does not disconnect at all.In comes the router in between, when I connect the router and connect my computer through the router WRT54G2, it works initially then I get disconnected after about 1-2 hours. This is very regular. I have a temporary solution by resetting the router via two ways:  1. Go to the admin page, and perform a release and renew IP method.
2. Simply power off the router and then on again.
I have an EA2700 (fimware "classic" 1.0.14.129982) that used to work perfectly fine with a Comcast cable modem. I just recently switched to Charter with an Arris TM902 modem and that's where the problems started. The cable modem will not recognize my router. I have to plug in a computer into the cable model when it starts up. Then I need to clone the MAC address and restart the router (after disconnecting the computer). Why isn't the cable modem recognizing the router when I restart it? I guess this could work if it would be a one time thing but I had to power-cycle the modem and it stopped recognizing the router even with the cloned MAC address. So I had to do the whole spiel again.  Is there any way to make this work easier? Should I update my router's firmware to the "smart" one?
I have a Linksys WRT54GS, version 6 with Mac OS X (version 10.6.8) hooked up to a Scientific Atlantic cable modem, with RCN as the ISP. Â Recently, RCN had some network issues, and so I had to power down and reset my modem. The modem is working fine now -- no problems at all when the Mac is connected direclty to the modem. Â The router's network is OK in that I can connect the Mac wirelessly to the network, but I can't connect to the internet through the router (through neither the wireless or wired connection). Â I have downloaded the latest firmware update for the router, following the Linksys site instructions. Â I did call Linksys tech support on the advice of RCN, and they said that the router does appear to be working (power, WLAN, and Internet lights are on), but they would be charging me nearly the cost of a new router to fix the problem.
I want to create a DMZ by having a less sophisticated router connected to cable modem, which would have the webserver which contains no sensitive information, and then the EA3500 to which my laptops and desktops which contain sensitive information would connect to. Can CCC work through that first router?
Reset to factory defaults. DHCP turned on. Status page shows black for router IP, gateway, and DNS addresses. Powered router+cable modem on/off multiple times already. I also have another wifi router (WRT120N) and it works fine. Â Pretty simple connection. Just a ethernet cable between the cable modem and E1200 internet port (Cable modem <---> E1200)
I have a need to have 2 seperate networks from my comcast cable modem.I was hoping to plug a 5 port hub into the cable modem and then plug both the wrt610n and the wrt54g into the hub. Seem that only one of the routers will get an ip assigned from Comcast.Is there a way to have one ISP cable modem and create two different home networks with the two linksys routers, thus two separate independent networks?  -Network 1: public household use and family (Jane's wireless laptop, household PC's etc).
-Network 2: private household/company use and separate from the public family network (company wireless laptop/company PC, un-secure media server).
I am using wag120n modem router but is confused abt how to setup it's wireless security.The wireless securit setting recommended in tutorial given here is very different from what is given in my routrs setting up page.  I don't know how to handle the key renewal option.If i leave it as 3600 seconds does that mean i have to enter a new key in my wireless device connected to the router after every 1 hour?
i have an e3000 linksys cisco router. i havent had any problems before until i tried adding a new computer via cat5e ethernet cable. The first computer always is connected fine whether i unplug the router or modem in any order and replug. i dont know much how to fix this. ive tried some unplugging method once but it only worked until i turned the computer off and back on later. i am also running 2 xboxs with no trouble. i used cisco connect to diagnose problem but it just told me to unplug modem power and tv cable and i did that with no luck.although i have good equipment, the internet is pretty slow.i have the best service of my provider that states it has upto 50 mpbs download speed.i ran the cisco internet speed test and only got a max of 20 download and 5 upload.how could i speed this up?
We have a E3200 wireless router but our only connection is wireless. There is no Ethernet connection or cable modem. Presently I am unable to bring up the web page ie...10.100.x.x for entering the id/pw to login. Router is setup with default settings. Is there a setting that needs to be changed from the setup menu or this type of setup will not work with this router.
Attempting to get EA6500 working with TWC Motorola Surfboard SBV5220 modem, which has been working just fine for the last 2 years with a Linksys E3000 router. Â DHCP client in the EA6500 either doesn't ask for an IP address from the cable modem or the modem just isn't supplying one. Â With the E3000, you could see the IP address assigned by the cable modem and the primary and secondary DNS server addresses provided, and if the DHCP request didn't work, these addresses would be all zeroes. Â But, with the EA6500, I can't find an equivalent screen that shows these assignments, or zeroes when the DHCP request fails.
I am at my wits end.Comcast just changed my old RCA cable modem for an Arris Telephony modem.(I had Comcast phone service added)The tech that did the install said the wireless G network was all up and running. (My 3 other computers and printer) Well lo and behold the network does not work at all. I only get internet through my wired computer and cannot access my router through 192.168.1.1 anymore.I tried powering down the router and modem by holding the reset for 30 seconds and unplugging them.
We have a large house, with wired connections in every room.  After the ISP just installed a new  EA4500, the wireless signal does not reach the whole house.Is it possible to plugin the old X3000 into the wired connection upstairs and have it boost a wireless signal to that area?I know how to reset the unit and access the setup page.
I cannot access my Motorola SB6141 cable modem status page at 192.168.100.1 thru the EA6500 router. I can bypass the router and can connect to the status page with no problem. Is there a setting to change or can I possibly do port forwarding to access it?
I am recieving error 619 (port for connection was closed) when trying to connect over my wireless connection. If I disconnect the WRT54G and hard wire to the cable modem I can VPN in without a problem. I have enabled IPSec / PPTP / L2TP on the VPN security tab and have reset the wireless modem.
Upgraded my E3000 from 1.0.02 to 1.0.04 and now I cant get an ip from my arris modem. I did the 30/30/30 reset and everything but no luck. I've had to plug the modem directly into the computer for now. Where can I find the 1.0.02 download or how can I fix this?
I recently switched from dsl to cable. I have a e2000 router that I would still like to use. The modem I have is a Motorola Surfboard SB6121. It has no options that I can modify. The modem has a built in DHCP server. However, I can't modify it and I don't like the ip configuration it uses. For the time being I have the modem connected to a switch which is working fine. What I would like to know is how to configure the e2000 to use the modems connection. I used PPPoE for DSL and had login information.
i have a dpc3825 cable mdem gateway i spent 4 hours on the phone with charter yesterday i cant access the admin part of the router i go to 192.168.0.1 and up comes the setup username and password i have reset it numerous times i have left it blank as per instructions i have tried admin and blank cusadmin and password i cant get in
I have DOCSIS 3.0 modem and a Linksys E1000 wireless router with which I get reults from SpeedTest of 8.6 mps down, 1.57 mps up up from 15 mps service from cable provider. Connected to modem via ethernet cable produces 16.0 speeds. Do I need to upgrade the router or are my settings wrong?

I am a avid fan of Linksys routers. But one feature which i feel isn't there on linksys is the ability to start downloads on the router and also peer to peer capability such as torrents. Asus routers have this and it works flawlessly love to have this feature on the Linksys routers. This is one and only request i ask for in firmware update
The standard Verizon router doesn't have Wireless N capability, so I got the WRT600N (first floor) a while back and connected it to one of the ports on the Verizon router (basement). I have the wireless turned off on Verizon router. My problem is that anything connecting to the WRT600N has extremely intermittent connectivity.Â
