View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got the motorola droid 3, my first android device. I'm trying to figure out how to get my device to connect to my network as it won't obtain the IP address.I have a Motorola Surfboard SBV5120 Modem and a Microsoft MN-700 router. I just switched from the Palm Pre Plus which connected perfectly to this network, the network is unsecured and has 2 pc's and a 360 running on it. I was able to connect to my friend's wireless network fine at his house.

I've tried upgrading firmware and have used both straight-through and crossover cables between the EA4500 & TM502G to no avail. The EA4500 would issue IPs to it's clients, but not obtain one from it's TM502G. At the moment, all 3 are daisy-chained together with the old WRT54G in the middle in order to make the EA4500 work. Both WiFi and LAN ports function in this configuration.

Do not need (nor particularly want) Smart Wi-Fi, Cloud Connect, or or anything other than a simple manually-setup router. Have a new EA6500 I plan to use replacing an E1000 that is playing up (needs to be reset every morning) connecting to Verizon east (former GTE) aDSL. Connected the EA6500 to a laptop via ethernet, changed router password to same as E100, set up the two port forwards I'll need (IPs on the internal network are static in the 192.168.1.0/24 block), changed DHCP server to start at 101 (don't ask), leave Internet Connetion Type setting at "Automatic Configuration - DHCP" (same as E1000), shut down both routers and modem (Westell WireSpeed 890-210015-04). Connect EA6500 to modem, power up modem, power up router, and...Nothing. Does not receive external IP via DHCP.If I switch back to the E1000, it immediately picks up the IP lease.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had the adapter for a while now, successfully running on XP SP3 with the linksys software. I could see networks, connect to them with WPA security and get an IP address. I recently tried uninstalling the software, then connecting the adapter to install only the drivers and let windows manage it. Since then, I haven't been able to acquire an IP address. It can see the SSID and connect to it, but continually tries to acquire an IP address. I've tried this with different SSIDs at work and home...same result. I've tried uninstalling the driver from device manager, but every time I restart and connect the adapter, windows recognizes the adapter. I probably made matters worse by connecting another adapter to it, in an attempt to work around the problem. That is a USB adapter, WUSB600N. Tried the same thing, but continually tries to acquire an IP address.

My set up is a 2wire router that connects to the internet, with an ethernet power plug connected to it. Over the other side of the house, I have the other ethernet power plug connected, with a Netgear router in access point mode. The main router is on 192.168.1.1, and the access point is on 192.168.1.3. The DCHP server is enabled on the main router with range 192.168.64 to 192.168.1.253. The access point has the DCHP server turned off. The routers have the same APN and security (WPA2-PSK).Also, the wireless channels don't overlap, channel 1 and 11.Now to my problem:The internet always works fine for a few days when the routers are turned on. But at some point between 1 to 3 days later, every computer can't obtain an IP address while connected to the access point. But all computers can connect to the main router (i.e. when closer to the main router than the access point), and then go near the access point and it keeps the connection. If I reboot the access point, then everything works again for a few days.

I have no problem using my WII, PSP, or computer to go online but my ps3 cannot connect to the internet.url...The errors I might sometimes get is "failed to obtain IP adress" and most of the time I get something with unable to connect to internet server when I am able to get the IP address
I was thinking maybe I shold reset my router to default settings but I'm not sure what's the way to do that or update the router? This problem also has been happening for a week now. In the previous weeks I could easily connect to the internet with no problems and all of a sudden I cannot connect anymore and this has happened a few times already in the past where I am unable to connect to the internet with my ps3 for a few days to a week.
I just got a WAP321 to replace a very frustrating WAP4410, what is the the SNMP OID to obtain associated wireless clients for each of the SSIDs ? I'd be happy with any OID for client numbers so total clients associated will be fine.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to connect my Xbox 360 to Live by bridging my computer's wireless connection. I've done this before for a friend in a different city and it worked fine, and I felt very proud of myself for doing so. However when I try to connect here, the modem won't assign my Xbox an IP address. I've been into ipconfig/all and tried to manually assign the same IP address to the Xbox but to no avail. Same deal with the alternate MAC address option.
To speed things along here's the readout from my ipconfig/all:
