I need to control his access to the internet. How can I set up a password to control access to our home wireless network? I have just noticed that our wireless network is not showing as secure.

I see the windows xp pc on the network from the windows 8 pc, but when I click on the windows xp pc icon, a window appears that asks me to enter a user name and password. I have at work a domain of computers. on one of the computers (I have admin rights) I want to share a folder that can be accessed by other computers that are not in the domain. By default accessing that share requires a user/pass. My question is: can I configure something on the computer (running windows 2008 server) to the shared folder so that other computers that are not from the domain will gain access to without user/pass requirement (like a normal share)?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Netgear Router WNR 2000 v3 and installed it. I got inside the router and could set up a Network Name and security key. However, I can not access the internet when I chose a security password using WPA 2, WPA-PSK + WPA 2 PSK, or WPA/WPA 2. It only accesses the internet when I chose None.( no secured ).At this time, my network is unsecured because there isn't way I can access the internet when I create a security key using the 3 options the router offers.
Note : I have tried the 3 security options creating a key number and my computer connect to the wireless network but don't access the internet. It only access the internet when I select None ( no secured )

The former service (modem) was a cisco (1 port) that I connected my EA 2700 Cisco router to and it worked like a charm. My IP phones came right up as well. Recently I have purchased two brand new wap4410n access points.
I have connected my computer directly to one of the access points, and attempted to connect to the Web Configuration utility through my web browser.
I'm using a: 09' MacBook Pro, running Snow Leopard and Safari 5.
I can access the login screen of the access point, although when I enter the default username: admin and password admin, the login screen returns an error: Invalid username and/or password (or something to that effect). The URL changes to: http://192.168.1.245/login.htm&no=3.
I have reset the device by holding in the reset button for thirty seconds, powered down, powered up and re-attempted to login.
I still get the same error as above.
I have attempted to access the Web Configuration utility on both access points, and both access points provide the same error. I have also tried using the username: cisco and password: cisco.
Cisco, when contacted, said both access points must be faulty and I should replace them.
The probability of such an occurrence happening with two devices seems very low, and leads me to think there must be other factors at play. The only constant I can think of is the fact I'm using the same computer to access the devices.
I simply need to recover an embeded access point password.
I have the passwords to the 881-w router, but passwords to the embedded access point I don't have.
What is the recovery process for it, or the password reset process for the embedded access point.
I'm trying to register a new nook.
