I've had some trouble with this and I post here, because I ran into this topic which is almost the same as my problem.Recently I started renting out one of my rooms to this guy with a Windows laptop. Everything I have is Apple:- iMac (with Windows in dualboot)- Macbook (with Windows in dualboot)- iPhone iPad- Airport Extreme (that is connected to the modem/router from the ISP by cable to create its own, more stable, wireless network)I never had any trouble with this network, not when my Macbook is running Windows or when classmates come over to work on a project (some have Windows), but as soon as this guy moved in, the internet started acting weird.Example: The internet is working fine, but when my flatmate comes home and opens his laptop, the internet crashes. Any process that was already connected, continues to work fine (e.g. a downloading torrent-file), but any new "assignment" for the internet just creates an error in Chrome ("the page does not exist" or "the server took too long to respond" for example). At those times, I can't even connect to my router through 192.168.1.1, but the WiFi still works (I can stream videos over the network from iMac to iPad without a problem). After about 2 minutes, the internet is up again, only to repeat the above after about 10 minutes.
I now have denied his MAC-address access from our router, because it was impossible to do schoolwork or just basic browsing, but I would like to just give him access of course! (it's in the contract)I'm going to call my ISP tomorrow and ask what they think is wrong, but I'm 99% certain it's my new renter's laptop. He claims his computer is completely clean, but I'm suspecting there is some kind of process running that just clogs all DNS-requests (or am I saying something weird now?
Using CCP installed Easy VPN after setup completed ran the test and it failed see below; What commands can I enter to check this? New at VPN so I am sure I have something miss configured.

I tried to do a a system recovery to my sis laptop a " emachine e620 " but the recovery cd didn't work so I used another vista cd the pc had " vista basic x86 " so I decided to install " vista ultimate x86 " everything was going fine until the pc said error setup cannot be completed I tried like 10 times so I decided to desable some devices and change the hard drive to in the bios to mointed I thik is call like that then the windows did a perfect install super fast now my problem is with the " network controller " I went to emachines drivers and support pick the rigth ones and my network controller still missing the drivers I can see the wifi saying on the screen off and on but not internet.

When I login from a windows machine I can use the share point without any problems. When I try to use it from a Mac (mounted via smb://192.168.1.1/sharepoint) I can access the folders and download files. I can even create folders. When I try to copy a file onto the share point (normal file name, small file size) I get an error saying "The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items." If I try to copy the file directly via a terminal window I see this:

As I see it there is a problem with leopard trying to set permissions when copying and the router refusing. How to get this to work?
I am trying to run TDR tests on a 3750G (ver12.2). The switch ports have 3502 series access points attached to them. When ever I run the test the results all show "Not Completed". I understand that this means the test failed but this happens with any port I try.

I play world of warcraft and I log on, select my toon, get to the loading screen, and it either loads all the way and disconnects or goes all the way except a little and then disconnects me. It use to log on but i couldn't swithc specs w/o dcing. Also i would have to log off of skype, log on, then get back on to skype or i wasn't going to be able to get on. I've noticed recently that when i log onto one of my 85's some of the green lights turn red on the modem? I have made all the ports for WoW with the firewalls so I know its not that.

My brother use to have a desktop which he skyped 24/7 webcam and all, that didn't bother my gaming till he got a laptop. Now that hes on a laptop and only when using a laptop on wireless it makes my internet go crazy. I played wow and my ping was 110 once he got started in a webcam session it would fly up to 1000+ in ping. PS3 would lag to s---. I'm not exactly sure whats causing the horrible lag, I know the program that does it is Skype webcam when ran on wireless. Some people say they use you as a super nod whoring your net out to others. I'm in charge of the IT of a dorm with 200 inhabitants. A lot of people complain about the bad quality of "skype-calls". Audio is delayed and video stucks. The actual speed of our internet connection should be fast enough so I guess it has something to do with the QOS setting. I checked it on our WLC 3750 and right now we use Silver (best effort). Could there be any improvement when I set it to Platinum?

I am 100% sure that Skype isn't running on any of our PC's, yet the Skype protocol is by far the highest used out of everything. I have watched these traffic stats late at night when nobody is on the network and when the only traffic is replication, and this is the protocol which is constantly increasing.
If I run 'sh ip nbar port' , Skype isn't listed in the port-map. If I use ? at the end of the command, it lists Skype as option. The 'sh ip nbar protocol-discovery' show the following (among others):

EMC have informed me that the port used for replication is 8888, but I can't see how NBAR can think this is Skype.
why NBAR is detecting Skype traffic?!
