Basically I keep losing my internet on my laptop only randomly. It started with only skype working and no internet on the pc. Then it went to alot of crashes that led me to system restore. Then it came back again. Im not sure what i can do about it?

I have a brand new E4200 constantly losing internet connection (both wireless and wired). I have a ADSL connection to the internet, last router I had did not have the same issue. I also have a Cisco ASA 5505 for work connected to the ADSL modem and is not experiencing any disconnect issues. All computers connected to the router is losing internet connection, local lan keeps working. The internet connection gets back again after a 10-15 minutes or when resetting / turning off the router.
I have tried the following;
Changed ethernet cables
Disconnected the ASA 5505
Turned off wireless
Upgraded the firmware
Reseted to factory settings
I have a windows vista pc networked to a second pc. I have wirelessly networked internet to 2 laptops. I have an actiontec wireless modem by verizon. All of a sudden my host pc started randomly losing internet connection, but the wireless laptops still have a signal. Several times a day at random my devices (laptop, android phones, PS3) will lose internet connectivity from my wireless network. They say they are still connected to the network but I am unable to access the internet or even the router config page. Everything works fine on Wired LAN computers. The only way I can fix it is by unplugging the router for a few seconds. I have had the router for over a year now without this problem. Seems like it may have started when we got our android phones.

recently i bought wireless router TL-WR841N and there hasn't been a day or should i say few hours without restarting/turning on-off.I have cable(no modems,etc)Longest time it has ran without restarting was around 20hours.The problem is it RANDOMLY looses connection like this , but it's not the only problem , mostly when i leave computer and go to sleep or other business i leave router turner ON (no else have access to it and no one touches it), when i come back it just does not connect to internet, it shows that everything is fine , but i have no access to internet.This happens to all connected computers.I have dynamic ip I have russian version of windows xp sp3 , but i think everything is pretty understandable here. connection timed out/request timed out

FYI the problem is not in my computers(i tried setting up wireless networks from 2 different pc's) and i'm pretty sure it's not ISP's fault too(everything works fine through cable) , because this never happens with other wireless networks, etc.
Currently using a netgear WG602 wireless router which i use to connect to my 2nd PC and Iphone, with the Netgear router running from my main PC.I have recently been having trouble with my 2nd PC ad Iphone randomly losing connection and the only way for the connection to be reastablished is to reboot the wireless router. Once rebooted i am able to connect again to the internet with no problems, interestingly enough my main PC never loses connection. Also sometimes when i lose my connection and reboot the wireless router i will have a IP conflict pop up on my 2nd PC however i would i say i get this once in every 10 dissconects and not all the time. Sometimes i won't dissconect at all in a day but sometimes i may dissconect 5-6 times.

I didn't think the issue was with the router so i called the Tech Support people from Brighthouse and they told me to connect directly to the modem so i did that and I had internet. But why would my router randomly stop working, I've had this Linksys Dual N bound router for a year and never had a problem with it. I want to think that its the internet providers fault but I guess I really don't know.

I cannot access its control panel, the network just goes kaput. Given that I don't have access to the router since it's part of a double house (the side I'm not on of course), this is getting beyond irritating to reboot it when this happens as that is the only way to fix it. The connections are even wired, too. What kind of money does it take to get a router that is going to STAY on and just work? View 2 Replies View RelatedMy DIR-655 wireless router randomly quit working. It was plugged into my modem and working great, then it just stopped. I restarted my modem and router, but the "Ethernet" light on my modem does NOT shine when plugged into the router.
I'm sure that the modem is fine, as I have it connected to my PC right now. I also tried it with my friend's wireless router - works fine.
I believe this may be hardware-related. I have tried restoring the router to factory settings and then setting up everything again: No luck.
I haven't had this router for long! Just a little over two years I believe (or it may be just a little over one). I have another wireless router somewhere that's 6-7 years old and still works. If it is hardware related (as in the router just randomly broke), then rest assured I will not be purchasing another D-Link router in the future.
I recently upgraded my Wild blue internet service to the "Exede" system. When I kept losing the connection to my Mac Air book, the Wild blue service tech suggested that my wireless router (Linksys Wireless G 2.4 GHz router) was not robust enough to handle the increased "speed". They recommended I purchase a new router so I purchased the Linksys EA4500.
Now, after three weeks, the Linksys EA4500 router has stopped working. I am able to hook one of our Mac Books directly to the satellite modem to access the internet through an Ethernet connection. Finally, I finally reconnected my old Linksys Wireless G router to the modem to check to see if it would work and it does.
So, I'm wondering about the failure rate of the new Linksys EA4500 routers? Is there anything else I might try to get my new router to work??? I have unplugged it for an hour and then re connected it. I have pushed the reset button..My wireless indicator on the Mac Book Air shows full signal strength, but I can't connect to the internet with my new (less than 3 weeks old) router.
I've been using an 802.11 b/g USB wireless network adapter card with my computer to use in conjunction with an AT&T 2Wire router,which is about 20 or 30 feet away off in another room.After about 10 minutes on average, the adapter will stop transferring data suddenly, and it will stay that way for a while. If I do nothing, then sometimes it will start up again after several more minutes, but instead of waiting, I usually will select "Repair" from the Wireless Network Connection pop-up menu, which also works to get it started again. The problem though, naturally, is that after another little while, like about 10 minutes again, it will short out all over again. Sometimes, very rarely, it will stay working for up to maybe an hour, and sometimes, it can short out yet again within a few seconds.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have noticed a problem recently that our Remote Access VPN will randomly stop working. I will be able to connect and enter my Username+Password and it says Connected, but I cannot ping Remote Resources. If I check VPN Client Statistics, it shows Many Packets Sent/Encrypted, but None Received. It seems this problem affects all devices at once, but leaves the L2L tunnels intact.
It seems to randomly start working for a while, and everything seems fine until it stops working again. I verified that it is not a firewall problem, and it occurs on multiple ISPs and computers.
We also have 2 Static L2L Tunnels, and 1 Dynamic L2L Tunnel all of which operate flawlessly. All sites/remote users use split tunneling.
Below is the config, I just added the keepalives on the RA Tunnel to see if it would work, I haven't noticed any difference yet.

I am trying to figure out whats wrong with my parents apple airport router. Its connected into an Arris TM402P/110 cable modem. It randomly stops working, the network is there and shows up fine but you cant connect to it. It might work for a day or 2 and then just stops. I am trying to figure out if there is a configuration issue or the airport hardware is just failing. I am not sure where to start troubleshooting. The event log for the modem isnt much help, the following message shows up occasionally:
No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out
Whats interesting is my mom plugged her desktop right into the cable modem and then after plugging it back into the airport the wireless was working again. Is it possible there is a DHCP issue? If the hardware is failing what would be a good replacement for the airport?
The other day I went to a friends house, came back home, booted up my PC, and my wireless network adapter wasn't working. I've tried everything to fix it.It's a D-Link DWA-525 802.11n Wireless PCI netowrk adapter. On device manager it just says 802.11 Wireless LAN Card with a yellow exclamation next to it. And when I check what the error is, it's either error 31 or 52 at different times, depending what I've tried to do to fix it.I tried downloading the driver for it off the D-Link website, nothing happens at all when I install it. I tried taking it out of my computer and plugging it in. I tried enabling it and disabling it on device manager.I noticed one thing, when it's in my computer the green light at the back that says activity next to it isn't on.

(My router says Version 1.9).Had this router about a month. It works fine. Using it in Wireless mode wpa2 security. Get excellent speeds. HOWEVER> It freqently drops connectivity and fails to allow wireless clients to connect at all. (You can see the SSID via wireless clients, but not connect to it). To restore it, I have to disconnect from Power, wait a moment, then reconnect to power. It recycles and connections are working again with no problems (UNTIL NEXT TIME). Seems to happen every few days.
I checked the web site and I appear to have the most current firmware.I have a Trendnet router on different channels in another part of the house which has never had this problem. I disconnected it to test if it was somehow involved, but the TP-Link router had same symptoms when it (trendnet) was not connected. Our Actiontec Router (VERIZON provides this as base connectin to them serving the Cable TV DVRs also) ) has its wireless disabled and is the DHCP server provider to the home network. DHCP is disabled on the TP Link.
I have att dsl and im using a linksys wireless router and lately my interenet keeps disconnecting. Specifically the little wireless icon in the bottom right of my windows 7 display gets a yellow exclamation mark for about 10-30 seconds then recconects. Its quite annoying and seems to be happening more often now. I have a strange setup on the router, i think its running in bridge mode or something and the modem is doing the actual routing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a HP G62 laptop and it randomly disconnects from the internet even though it still has full wireless signal. However if I turn the laptop 180 degrees or lift it above my head it will reconnect .The laptop will also only work in certain rooms of the house and not others even though it receives a similar strength signal in all of these rooms. For example it will work in my bedroom which is upstairs and on the opposite side of the house to the router but will not work in the living room (unless i hold it above my head) which is right next to the router.
A second HP laptop in the house has no problems and will remain connected no matter what room it is in and how is held. The two can be right next to each other both with full signal and one will be connected to the internet and the other wont.I have tried updating the drivers on the laptop but this has made no difference. The router is an echolife HG520b. The hp laptop which has the problem has a Broadcom 4313 network adaptor where as the laptop which works fine has a Realtek network adaptor.
