Can't Connect To Internet Without Ping Command Activated
Jan 9, 2011I can connect to the internet after 5mins or so after booting up but after that internet will not respond at all.i need to restart again my PC in order to connect again to the internet i somehow manage to bump with this solution using ping command.whenever i boot my pc i need to open this command and i can surf the internet without getting my connection lost just as long ping command is open.

Jun 14, 2011I got a new HP laptop running Windows 7. When I turn on my laptop, my wireless is off. So I click on F12 (my wireless button), to activate my wireless. The orange light turns blue. Even though the light indicates that my wireless is on, I have to go to device manager>networking>802.11n>advanced then activate my radio for my laptop to pick up the wireless signals. The problem is that I have to do this every time I turn on my laptop, and its getting quite repetitive.

I am planning to share the load and make it active/active making first context active on the primary unit and second context active on the secondary unit. My question is if this will disrupt any connectivity thru these firewalls when I do "no failover" on the active/standby and assign the contexts to different failover groups and enable the failover back.

To run through what i've done so far, within the 'Web Protection' screen i've: enabled URL filteringconfigured a number of categories to filter by putting a tick in the repective business hours boxset the business days to 7 days a weekspecified business time as 24hrshit the save button.
My licence appears as activated and my platform shows as "gateway service".I've gone on to a number of machines and all are able to access websites that fall under my blocked category (facebook for example even though i've blocked the social networking category).

I ran a malware detector and removed two items, still no internet availability. What should I do?The trouble shooting device says "Firewall may be preventing your program from running". Jun 23, 2011I got a problem yesterday with a customer that says that the calls from a CISCO IP Phone 7961 to an Alcatel 4018 IP Touch didn't work, well the phone rings but there's no voice; I manage a CISCO ASA version 8.2(1) and I was checking the Inspection Rules in the Service Policy Rules section and when you open the inspection_default at the Rule Actions tab I find that the H.323 H.225 and H.323 RAS box wasn't checked so I ask to the customer to made a test and the same problem happen so I checked both box and again ask to the customer for a test and it works.
I was talking to a partner and he said that maybe this Inspect fix some signaling parameters of this protocol that can't work fine behind of a firewall.
Cisco Firewall :: ASA 5585X Active / Active Failover Group Inter Routing
Mar 20, 2012I am looking at deploying a pair of 5585X's in an active/active multiple context state. I am creating Mulitple contexts that need to be able to route to each other. I was going to deploy a type of Gateway context that has a shared interface to all of the other contexts, instead of sharing interfaces directly between the contexts, i beleive this will work as basically i am just cascadng the contexts and sharing interfaces.
The main problem i have come across, is that if i deploy active/active across two appliances using 2 failover groups i can not see a way to route between them, for example.
I have Context 1, Context 2 and Context GW A including the shared interfaces of Con1 and Con2 in failover group 1 on appliance A with the respective standbys on Appliance 2. I have Context 2, Context 4 and Context GW B including the shared interfaces of Con 3 and Con 4 in failover group 2 on appliance B with the respective standbys on Appliance 1.
I need to be able to route traffic between Context GW A and GW B so that the contexts can communicate in normal operation and in failover. I do not beleive that I can share an interface between contexts in two separate failover groups and to be honest without adding a L3 device between the appliances i am not sure if this is possible.

Jun 1, 2011I have an ASA5520 in location A with an ISP connection and a matching ASA5520 in location B with a separate ISP connection. We have fiber connecting the two locations and vlans passing back and forth so I will be able to configure the failover via a vlan as well as extend the ISP's to each location via vlans. The Active/Active configuration with the multiple security contexts does not seem to be an issue but how is a redundant ISP configured in this mode?We want to have context A using the ASA in location A with ISP1 as the primary and failing over to ISP 2 in locaiton B We also want to have context B using the ASA in location B with ISP 2 as the primary and failing over to ISP1 in location A Would route tracking provide the desired result? Is there a better option?

Mar 30, 2011I have 2 asa 5520 firewalls including and 1 AIP-SSM-10 module in each of them. the configuration is set using active/active failover and context mode.
Both of them run individualy the IPS module. The IPS is configured using inline mode and fail-open option. However when one of the module fails and the state is changing from up to init or anything else making the IPS to fail then failover is detected and ASA consider it as failover and bounce context to the other unit.
IPS soft is 6.0(4) and ASA soft is 8.0(3)
I have checked cisco doc and it is confusing to me. it says: "The AIP-SSM does not participate in stateful failover if stateful failover is configured on the ASA failover pair." but it really does participate. Running is not really an option because of production network impact matter..

Feb 4, 2013Can't get internet connection to stabilize, keeps disconnecting.My laptop keeps cutting off from the internet, yet the internet itself is fully functional, as I can still use it for my mobile, and I have not had any problems with it disconnecting during online Xbox360 games.I have fully read through the thread I just linked as he obviously got his problem solved, however I know very little about computers and cannot understand the majority of the solutions/attempts that he tried.I have done the obvious and turned the router off for several ideas before trying again, but nothing has worked for far.
I'm aware that the problem this user posted was eventually solved by getting a new modem/router? however before doing so I want to make sure I have tried everything else possible.I have just read through the pre-posting requirements, I would have done it beforehand obviously but I overlooked them, my mistake. Jan 14, 2012i have a strange issue with an HSRP Setup. I have two (S1+S2) 3560 as Core/Distribution Layer. Inter-vlan routing are enabled on both Switches. S1 and S2 are connected with an ether channel over four fibre ports. S3 -S5 are the (L2) access layer.
Gi0/1 on S1 and S2 are L3 ports, connect to a Linux Firewall.
HSRP is enabled, S1 is the active router and the STP root bridge.
But, my monitoring via cacti show me, that the Gi0/1 on S2 is active, too! But it should not be active? Only if S1 fails, should S2 the active switch.A client from the access ports on S3 - 5 gets traffic from the Internet via Gi0/1 from S2. Gi0/1 on S1 is active too, but will send mostly traffic to the Internet. Why is S2 active and why route it traffic from the Internet to the client?

All I need to do to get internet is plug the ethernet cord from the port on the wall to my laptop. But I really need wireless internet. My wificard tells me there are tons of networks in the building I am in. I bought a netgear router and plugged the ethernet cord into it, but the router doesn't seem to detect the internet, even though if I plug that same cord into my laptop the internet works instantly.

Nov 9, 2011At first, it says "limited or no connectivity" and after reading possible solutions, it now says connected and has a very good signal but once I open Mozilla or Google Chrome, there's no internet connection. The icon doesn't also have that blue light that I think is an indication that it has internet connection. My roommate can connect to this wifi with no problems, her notebook is Acer, just like mine. We also have a wifi at home and it connects smoothly. I don't why I'm having problems with this aztech wifi here. Btw, I do not own this wifi or router. It's like an open network.
