3324 Dell Power Connect Fan Replacement
Nov 27, 2011
I just got a Dell Powerconnect 3324 from work and well needless to say it is very loud. Any good fan replacement that will do the job and not be nearly as loud? It currently has two Sunon KD1204PKV1, 40x40x20mm, 12V, 8.9 CFM, two wire fans.

My Intel(R) Wifi Link 5100 AGN wireless adapter does not recognize network connections. I corresponded with Intel, after updating drivers etc., the tech concluded that I probably need a new adapter. I have a Studio 1555(1550?). I would like to purchase a USB adapter.

I working with two PowerEdge R515 systems and for some reason I keep getting strange power errors on the front LCD where it turns orange. It started with one about an on-board regulator failure and this morning when I came in both machines were powered down with a different LCD error, something about the Fault-safe voltage being out of range? They both say to contact support.
I got these error logs this morning. All the power readings show as being ok in the iDRAC page and in ESXi readings.
System BootThe system board PFault fail-safe voltage is outside of the allowable range. System BootThe system board PG voltage is outside of the allowable range. System BootThe system board PG voltage is outside of the allowable range.
The only strange thing i see is that on the power supply tab it says the max input wattage is 750 with the actual input being 972.

I have been having problems with my Bluetooth device since I bought my laptop. I downloaded the Toshiba Stacking and all possible drivers that suit my computer, but I get the feeling that it could not connect with the hardware itself. I am using Windows 7. When I try to fix the problem, the program opens a window 'Activate Bluetooth by Fn + F2 or Radio On/Off button.' ot something. With the Fn + F2 keys there is no effect and where to switch on or off the radio. By the way, the Bluetooth light on my laptop is on all the time

I got my XPS L322X yesterday, and this problem occured from the first time I turned on my laptop. Everytime I turned on or restarted my computer, I could connect to my wifi router, and everything works well in the first 3-5 minutes. But later the wifi connection turned to "limit", and if I searched for the networks again, all wifi hotspots disappeared!
And if this problem popped up, there would be a follow-up problem -- I could not turn off my computer nor restart it! If I tried to restart the computer, it stayed on the "restarting" screen for 5 minutes, and a "power_start_up_failour" error warning later. If I then restarted the computer by pushing the power button for 5 seconds, it showed that the network adapter was disabled. Enableing the adapter would start this whole problem all over again!

After a recent power outage while my PC was in sleep mode, I don't have wired (Ethernet) connectivity.
I have new Dimension E510XP Media Center Edition, Version 2002, SP3 ver had an issue with wired connectivity on this PC after coming out of sleep mode. Of course, the power failure was unusual.
Observations:
- ipconfig /all shows that I have an IP address
- I can ping the DHCP server listed in ipconfig /all and I also can ping google.com.
- I was going to go a restore point set before the power outage. But, somehow system restore had gotten turned off. Oh, well. I did go ahead and turn system restore back on.
Things I've already tried that did not solve the issue:
- Reboot
- Uninstall/reinstall the network adapter driver. Device Manager says the network adapter card is working properly.
- Looked for an updated network adapter driver on Dell's website. Turns out that I have the latest driver already.
- Followed many of the steps from Microsoft at [URL]
- Checked McAfee Security Center firewall permissions list to see if something got changed. Everything looked okay. Also disabled the firewall just to be sure,
- Disabled SafeEyes internet filter.
- Reset the router. Also swapped router ports with a known good PC. The known good PC still had connectivity, the affected PC (the E510) did not.

We have a Power Edge T310, sporting two Broadcom 5716C LOM's. We also have a Power Connect 5524 switch. Good opportunity to team the two network connections using 'Link Aggregation (802.3ad)'. Downloaded the most recent management software off the Broad com site. Installed BACS 3 on the Power Edge, running Windows SBS 2011, which has Windows Server 2008 r2 x64 as it's base.
Started BACS and tried to configure teaming. But there's no teaming-section in BACS. I removed, restarted the server and re-installed the Broad com software, but still no teaming section? How do I solve this?

How do I disable the power management feature that slows my NIC down when I am on battery power?
I have a dell e6500 with a Intel 82567LM Gigabit LAN card that always connects at 10Mbps when I plug in the ethernet cord when I am on battery power, I've tried using different routers (I have two gigabit routers and one 100 mbps router)... it still auto-negotiates at 10 mbps I've tried using different cat6 cables, it still auto-negotiates at 10 mbps.I've checked the drivers, I have 10.0.6.0, which is the latest from the support.dell.com website.
However, the minute I plug in the laptop, the NIC connects at the proper speed. Essentially, when the laptop is using battery power, the NIC decreases it's speed to 10 mbps. When I plug the laptop in, the speed jumps up to what it should be (either 100 mpbs or 1 Gbps, depending on which router I'm plugged in to).
So, how do I disable this feature? I want to connect at the maximum possible speed, regardless if I am plugged in or not.

DLINK RMA service is worst I have ever experienced.I sent my defective DLINK DIR-655 router to RMA department about 3 weeks ago, and finally got the replacement today. However, can you believe the replacement from RMA is also defective, not connecting Internet at all? After spending about 1 hour with technical support again to confirm the replacement is still defective, I was told to request another RMA. Should DLINK expect me to spend another $10 shipping fee and wait for another 3 week for another replacement because of a mistake made by DLINK RMA service?

I've got the power cut while PC was running (w7). After rebooting I'm not able to connect to the internet anymore.
In Device Manager, under Network Adapters there is a "Realtek PCIe GBE..." device properly installed. But under Other Devices there are now more entries with exclamation mark:
- Network controller
- Multimedia controller
- PCI Communication controller
etc
I tried updating the drivers, then deleting and reinstalling but no success so far. Still can't connect to the internet. The browser can see the router, at 192.168.1.1 I don't know where the problem is.

I'm running Windows Vista desktop on a wireless network. It's been working fine for months. Just lost power for a minute today and ever since I can't connect to the internet, only locally. My desktop can't even identify the network. My laptop (I'm using it to send this message) is also wirelessly connected and works fine, as do other wifi enabled devices in the house. I've done the power off and on for the modem and the router but it's made no difference. I've rebooted the desktop system too. I've run the ipconfig /all and am concerned I have no Default Gateway listed.

I have a side gig that I do some work for and they've had a Sonicwall TZ200 device in their branch office and also in their data center that has a site to site VPN connection between the two devices. About a month ago the bandwidth throughput got severly decreased. They went from getting about 28Mbps/27Mbps to now ~3Mbps/12Mbps.
I've spent days troubleshooting with Sonicwall which could be a whole dedicated thread on it's own but I digress. I even had the ISP come out and test the line and when they hooked up their own laptop it got the speeds it should be getting. I've rebuilt the config on the sonicwall from scratch which was a major pain in the ass because I'm not a firewall guy by any means. After firmware updates and pulling my hair out I've decided to dump the tz200, to what I don't know. I need two devices, one for the data center and one for the branch office. I'm pretty sure something in the config is causing this and after being escalated to the highest level at sonicwall and them sending me a replacement unit which I rebuilt the config on and also tried to import the old settings with no luck. I very well could have done something or made a change to cause this but I'm at a loss and willing to try another product.
I get spammed from Barracuda all the time, do they have quality devices? Something with a web interface would be great since I'm not a firewall guru by any means and had set up a bunch of address objects with NATs and all that.

For our client, we have two ACS 5.0 deployed in primary and secondary mode.Primary ACS is failed and we are going to replace the hardware.Problem is we dont have backup of primary ACS and have backup of only secondary ACS.Also there is certificate used for authentication of wireless users. In this case how we can proceed for for the restore.
If we promote secondary ACS to primary and join the New ACS as secondary, will the certificate also synchronised? or we need to create CSR and obtain the certificate for new ACS?

I have a clarification related with ACS 1121. Client needs a solution for ACS feature, instead of investing on ISE Base, is there any model exists as ACS appliance only. I believe ACS 1121 is going to be EOS and it says SNS 3415 is the replacement model .
What I am confused is , It is an ISE as well as ACS and there is separate licensing for ISE (as base and advanced). What should i do , if i need to select SNS 3415 as ACS appliance ? is it built in or should i need to add anything extra ?

After stacking two 3750X switches, with four equal power-supply's, with StackWise and PowerStack , still got the next message every few hours %PLATFORM_ENV-1-FRU_PS_ACCESS: FRU Power Supply is not responding (gn4m-rt1p08-04-2)( note that the message revers to the second switch in the stack ) although the stackwise and powerstack on the switches is oke and are working correctly. !
Config : Stack-power in power-sharing mode/strict With CLI on the switch : All the power supply's and stack-power details, prio look OK.
Only: LMS prime /inventory/cisco-view/configure/power supply status result : some power supply's are marked as disabled.with the command > power supply 2 slot a off/on I manage to get the status back to "normal", but after a few hours some power supply's are again marked as "disabled".
Looks like SNMP en IOS difference from opinion.

I keep getting alerts from our WCS stating that our 1252s are drawing low power. Now I am aware that they require enhanced PoE (up to 20W) but as we only have standard PoE in that building we purchased the 1252 series power injectors to go with them.
However, even with the correct power injectors the WCS still reports the draws low power error.
Is this a bug? Running WCS 7.0.172 at the moment.
Forgot to say we are using the PWR-INJ4 and the injector status is enabled and you see the injector MAC address when you drill in to the AP status.

I have a 6500 chassis with 2 power supplies. At the moment I am using the default configuration:
power-redudancy mode redundant
The problem is that an inserted module is in "power deny" state due too insufficient power.
I know, that It's not a good idea to change into combined mode (loss of redundancy), but my customers requested this anyway.
So I will change to combined mode. So here's the 1 million dollar question: "Which modules will go into power deny, if one of my power supplies fails?"
The 6500 config guide states:
"Power supply is removed withredundancy disabled
• System log and syslog messages are generated.
• System power is decreased to the power capability of one supply.
• If there is not enough power for all previously powered-up modules, some modulesare powered down and marked as power-deny in the show power oper state field."
Well, do you know if there's any way to configure some kind of priority? E.g. I definetly don't want by 10Gig Module or WiSM module to be in power deny. Can i statically make sure, those module will be powered on for sure? Like: "power enable module slot_number" How is this calculated? Or is random?

In a stand alone 3750x switch configuration, can the secondary power supply only act as a redundant power supply (active/standby), or can it become a "pool" of power similar to power sharing mode for StackPower (somewhat active/active)? I understand there is no stack involved here but I'm curious if this functionality is possible.

I had an E1000 for a couple of years that worked OK. Then it went nuts--sporadically dropped the signal, wouldn't show its web page, etc.--maybe a power surge, who knows? So I tossed it and got a new one on the theory that it would be a plug in replacement .The new unit had a good signal, but also wouldn't show its web page, so I couldn't configure security. I removed Network Magic and everything else I could see pertaining to the old unit. However, the CD for the new unit still gives me: " Your router has already been set up. You need to use an Easy Setup Key that you can use to get other computers connected." Needless to say, I don't have such a thing. Cisco Connect is not installed at this point, so I can't go into it to create one.How can I purge the remains of the old unit so the new one will install properly?
