Ok I have 8 computers 2 computer will have a camera attached to it importing photos as they are being shot. (2 photo stations) Trick is I need to transfer all photos taken in real time to the remaining 6 computers at the same time. What is the best way to do this and what software to export all photos to the six computers. I'm running windows 7. I set this up as a home group but it was really slow. When I tried to use a network printer it would freeze the network? I need it to monitor new files as the photos come in. Also all photos also need to be copied to 6 different computers so guest could access their photo on any computer. This is how I currently have it set up. I have 2 Computers with cameras attached that takes the photos and sends them to PC1 (My Server Computer) The server computer also has the network printer attached. Each photo is about 300K-500K size.
Different photo is transfer every 15 seconds. The server computer is also connected to the other 5 Computers. The guest goes to one of the computers, scans a card and their photo pops up which is located on the server computer, they also have an option to print the photo. The problem is when the guests scans their card the photo is very slow to pull up ( about 15-20 seconds ) Second is when they hit print it freezes up sometimes for up to 2 minutes. I connected as a home group and first did connection wireless Then connect everything through a Ethernet cord which speed it just a little not much. Questions Do I need a better server computer?
I have infrared on my sagem myx-7 and want to transfer my photos to my netbook, I turn on the infra red on the phone, but the netbook doesn't detect it.
I've got a home network running on a Linksys WRT150-N router. The network consists of 2 desktops running Windows XP SP3, and a laptop running Windows 7. I am able to transfer various files without a problem between and among all machines, EXCEPT when those files are beyond a certain size (less than 1 MB or so transfers fine). Most of my photos are in the 2 MB - 3 MB range, so I have to run around like an idiot with a thumb drive to transfer them.
Is there anything I can adjust on my router or for my network settings that will allow me to share larger files?
Additional Details The error message I get is different for Windows 7 or XP. On the remote XP machine, it says "Cannot copy filename: Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected, and that the file is not currently in use." Obviously, none of those conditions is true.
More random symptoms:
It seems that the problem is limited to JPG files, and appears to be affecting only the vast repository where I keep all my photos. I've got all my photos stored in a main directory, then in sub-directories by Year, then by Date. e.g. PHOTOS 2011 2011_12_25
Moreover, this problem does NOT appear to have much to do with file size. Some large files will copy, while others will not.
It's very random. Some sub-folders are filled with readable pictures, while others are unreadable. But this follows no discernible pattern based on file date -- and they were all taken with the same camera. Smaller files seem to always be readable, even when larger ones in the same directory are.
Im having a problem transferring files to a shared network folder (my server's folder), its transferring files at ~20KB/s Thing is, I can copy files from the server to my computer at 90MB/s.I can also copy from my computer to my brothers computer also at 90MB/s.And copy from my brothers computer to the server at 90MB/s.But only 20KB/s from my computer to the server. My server is running WHS2011 by the way and my computer and brothers computer is running Windows 7.My entire network is wired and tested with a 1Gbit connection. and im using a Linksys WAG320N router.

1 newer build computer connected to D-link 655 via Cat6.1 laptop computer connected to same D-link 655 via Wireless N minicard. (Intel) (130Mbps connected) Router on a 10 foot shelf, always have full bar in wireless strength on 2nd computer.
Both computers can upload and download as expected from the internet. Transfers between the two computers though are slow. Both computers are loaded with Windows 7. Transferring files to or from the laptop transfers at 1.5MB/sec to 2 MB/sec.
new computer installation. networked computers. one prints other doesn't. i downloaded driver on to problem computer. am not sure how to install it though. it doesn't appear anywhere once i downloaded it! windows 7 64 bit
Long story short, I have a Asus CG5270 desktop with a cdrom that DOES NOT work and a hard drive that is totally wiped clean of any operating system. I also have a router and a perfectly working laptop with Windows 7 64bit home premium on it. I do not have a crossover cable or external hard drive. I have the recovery disk for the desktop which is Vista 64bit home premium SP1.Can I or can I not use the laptop to reinstall Vista on my desktop?I've found this question asked countless times in countless forums but also countless answers that do not answer the question for a person that is not a computer engineer.
I have networked two computer with printers attached to each. PC1 is with a brother printer attached PC2 with a HP 1100 attached. In the past I had no difficulty with networking the computers and have access from each computer to each of the printers.
I up graded the computer Susan and I am now having a few problems that I never had before. After I perform the Network Setup Wizard on each of the computers (in many different methods) I am having the following problems.First, every now and then I am getting the following message after double clicking on Entire Network then Microsoft Windows Network:
Entire Network Not enough storage is available to process this command. If I wait a few moments I will get the MSHOME and am allowed to click on that. After this I do see both guy and Susan. If I double click on guy I see items pop up. If I click on Susan I get the following message:
Susan is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The network path is not found.Of course I can not add the printer from Susan either. Though I have had no problem adding the printer from guy to Susan. And it prints properly.
have a computer that connects to the internet via a wireless network connection. The router to which it connects is not physically available.I have a device that I want to connect to the internet. However, it is a wired device. The device cannot reach the wireless router that the computer connects to.Is there any way for the wired device to connect to the computer as an intermediary? The computer has a built in wired network card (as well as a USB wireless device that connects to the wifi router).
Ive been doing everything I can to try to enhance transfer speeds between my home server and desktop pc. [code]
Just drag and drop copying on my network, a 7gb file started at 20mbps and immediately dropped to ~11mbps where it stays.I took the time to run cat 6, bought a decent router, and (2) intel NICs, I feel like I should be getting much better transfer speeds than this.
We have a network between two locations. WAN is 100 Mbps MPLS provided by service provider. There is a FWSM module on core switches. Problem we are facing is FTP file transfer between two servers across WAN link never crosses 20 Mbps. Link is 100 Mbps. However if we do parallel file tranfers each transfer is 20 Mbps . But we dont get transfer rate above 20 Mbps in a single FTP session. Is there any bottle neck where traffic is getting restricted.Traffic between two mservers passes through 100Mbps MPLS WAn link, 6500 core switch and FWSM module in switch.
I have a wireless network with 2 desktop hooked up wired, and one laptop that's wireless. Accessing files on the desktop with xp installed is quick and transfers files at around 5-7mb/s. When I connect to my main pc with windows 7 on it, file transfer is EXTREMELY slow and almost always stutters and freezes. I've tried removing the drive from 'shared' and then adding it again, reinstalling my ethernet driver, swapping ethernet ports on the back of my router, and resetting it altogether. Still a slow transfer speed.I use workgroup all around, for xp and for 7.
Just relised this problem after trying to leech some stuff from a friend from his pc at a lan My connection seems to go REALLLY slow. Heres a pic nobody else is file copying and its the same from every pc.
I have 4 systems in my network1)Amd Phenom based HTPC- wired LAN- win764bit ultimate2)Laptop-Wired LAN/Wireless -win764bit home basic3)Work Laptop-Wired LAN/Wireless win764bit ultimate4)Atom based storage server-Wireless only win7 32bit ultimateThe issue I am facing is really really slow data transfer speeds from one system to another 100-200Kbps!!whereas my download speeds are in upwards of 500 kbps with a 4Mbps connection. All the systems run various versions of windows 7 and are part of the same homegroup.the Wireless router I use is this And also have Kaspersky internet security 2012 on all the systems, with the firewall set to recognize my home network as a trusted network
I'm having problem with slow wireless trasnfer speeds. 129kb/s slow. So here is my set up. Desktop with a 100MB nic card, running windows 7 ultimate, connected to linksys wrt320n running dd-wrt. then i have my laptop running windows 7 ultimate, connected to my wireless network.
I have tried coping files in the homegroup and outside of the homegroup.
i am running windows server 2008 with the hyper V role installed.i have installed windows 7 Professional as a guest OS. assigned 2 GB of Ram to the machine. the point behind the VM is to virtualize my FTP server and incase a format is required i have the VM file on my 2nd partition, host OS on another. i use Cerberus FTP Server on the Win7 OS. i configured the server to accept SFTP and TLS connections. on the host OS i installed Fire FTP and File Zilla, both Clients will at max download a 4 MB file at 64 KB/Sec .. i have seen both jump to about 80 KB but was only a split second and never held.. however if i login without SFTP and transfer over standard protocol, i download at 1 MB/sec. which is my normal speeds. would this be only to the encryption process?, in the Cerberus Server there are options to adjust download speeds, i have left it default, and altered it to allow its max configuration. My ISP is not limiting any connections that shouldnt be.
i'm overal content with the router. But i bought myself an ipad and an app to go with it,what it does it, you access your computer from your laptop. You can than transfer files onto the ipad. But the max speed while transfering is 4150kbps, kinda slow imo.
I am using a DIR 825 and I experience slow data transfer speed within my internal network under the wireless connection (2.4 Ghz), 2 Mbs. I can videostream from the internet OK, no problems there, but when I want to transfer data between two external HDD (NAS devices) it can get as slow as 2 Mbs.
im experiencing very slow transfer rates averaging 600 kb/s when transfering files. my PC has a compatible dwa-552 card and both the router and card have latest drivers / firmware. i have various changes on the router and to no avail. all devices PC / laptops running N @ 20 mhz / channel 11. i can see 2 other networks but very low signal using diff channels.what setting might i be overlooking in the router that might cause this slow trans rate? incidentally, when i transfer .jpg or .pdf files the transfer improves to 2.5 mb/s. however, when i transfer a folder containing subfolders with diff file types the trans rate drops sharply to 600 kb/s.
2-Qualcomm Atheros AR938x wireless cards, both connected on 5Ghz network at 450 Mbps.Router-E4200, latest firmware, the only 5Ghz network in the area
One PC has a drive bender drive pool on it that I'm trying to read/write from. Testing the pool w/ crystal disk mark on the local pc shows fast speeds (650 MB/s read, 67 MB/s write), so I drive bottlenecks aren't the issue.
Connecting at 450 Mbps i would expect to see something like at least 200 Mbps actual speeds, or is this off? Using LAN Speed test I'm getting 41 write and 52 read. Not great
I have 4 - WAP 321's in an office all connected to a POE gigabit switch. Each WAP shows connected at 1GB but when I am sitting within a couple feet of the WAP and attempt to transfer a 972MB file it takes around 9 minutes to complete. speeding this up? All 4 AP's are setup as a cluster as well.
I am having incredibly slow connection while transferring files using file sharing.I have the below hardware:
108Mbps TPLINK Wireless Router TL-WR642G 108Mbps TPLINK Wireless Access Point acting as repeater Laptops accessing internet and folder sharing enabled for local file transfer
Transfering of files excessively slow (after playing around with the settings was able to get 500KBps). I have set all wireless adapters on the laptops to 802.11g only.Tried setting the router and access point to both 54Mbps and 108Mbps 802.11G only as well as b/g.
I recently bought a new TP-Link TL-WR741N, I'm transferring data from my desktop wired network, windows 7 to net book windows xp wireless. i'm getting only 2 mbps.
My work has a main office and a backup office which is off site. What I am trying to do is copy a folder from one computer at the backup site to another computer at the backup site, all while sitting at my computer in the main office. Let's say the two computers at the backup site are called comp1 and comp2.Whether I use Windows Explorer, or .net VB script, or XCOPY from the command prompt, if I try to copy \comp1c_drivefolder to \comp2c_drivefolder from my computer then it takes an extremely long time - around 5 hours for 2Gb of data.
However, if I Remote Desktop into comp1, and from that machine copy C:folder to \comp2c_drivefolder then it only takes 5 minutesI can only assume that when I try to copy the folder from my computer remotely that it is transferring the data from comp1 -> my computer -> comp2, and with the computers being at different sites it's very slow. What I need to know is if I can do this remote copy using VB without the data going via my computer, i.e. straight from \comp1 to \comp2.
I thought this was the way Windows handled copying between networks anyway, i.e. straight from one to the other, my only explanation for the terrible speed is that it is going via my computer. I'm writing a basic folder-backup program in VB and would REALLY like to cut that 5 hour transfer time down to the 5 minutes I know the network can do
I recently switched from an older 10/100 linksys to this gigabit router from D-Link. However, when I try to transfer files from one computer to another on the LAN, the file transfers are ridiculously low, right around 16KB/s. I have CAT6 cable for all connections, but am baffled by what could cause such a slow speed. I'm trying to transfer files from my desktop (win7) to my server (Windows Home Server 2011).
I have the above router, but I have noticed that the USB Transfer speed is very poor. I have a WD External HD plugged into the router and id i transfer filed from my server which is hardwired to the router I only get a transfer speed of about 2.5MB/s. For a USB device I was kind of thinking I would be getting a minumm of atleast 50-60MB/s.
I currently had 6 WAP321 setup in our work environment on 2 floor building as Single Point Setup cluster. When I do a 470MB ISO files transfer between the server and the laptop, the speed is very slow, rate at 130KBs and sometime it go up to 30Mbps.Is there anyway to tweek teh WAP to get FULL speed of wireless all the time?
