View 1 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to set up a wireless connection on an HP desktop that runs Vista. I recently purchased a Belkin N150 Wireless USB Adapter (Version F9L1001). My computer, first, will not run the software CD automatically; I have to find it and double-click on it. Then, after the drivers are supposedly installed and I restart according to the instructions, my computer is unable to find them when I plug in the adapter. Additionally, when I try to start the driver program myself, it refuses to go. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver software four times and I have gotten the following same results every time. Also, I do not have a router installed yet, as we were told initially that all we would need to use to connect the desktop to our wireless Internet was the adapter

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf your wireless indicator is flashing red when you discover the smurf, it can mean that someone has tried to logon with an incorrect password. this is not necessarily an attack, it could be someone you have allowed access too, who has forgotten the password? In this case entering the correct password will solve the problem. However putting your own MAC address into the filter will simply block your own machine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis afternoon, I plugged in a Belkin bluetooth adapter F8TO16 and paired it with a pair of 7dayshop headphones. Instead of leaving well alone with an old driver, I decided to update the Belkin driver - which went well. However, the Dell 365 Module then reported an error and trouble shooting informed me that it now had a driver error. Windows searched for and found a driver, but could not install it.. I've since downloaded and installed new Dell drivers for it but I still get the same result - can't install driver. (The module was working fine before I up-dated the Belkin driver.)
I figure I now have to un-install the Module and then install an up-dated version. Is this the right way to go and if it is, how do I go about it? I'm using Win7 64 bit on an Inspiron 1750.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUpstairs I have a Century Link modem/wireless router. My wife and I use our laptops, smart phones, and XBox 360 on the wireless network. Downstairs I have an older Dell PC that I use for my business. I have an Ethernet run from upstairs to downstairs. The Ethernet jack upstairs is near a cable outlet because we used to have cable internet. Now we have DSL and the phone jack is on the other side of the room. Here's my question... I have a Belkin N600 wireless router, is there any way I can plug it into the Ethernet port on the other side of the room, and use it like a wireless adapter? I have tried a few time to set it up as an "access point" but it doesn't seem to work. As soon as I do, I can no longer access the Belkin router to make any changes and I need to do a manual reset. can I plug my downstairs PC into the Belkin N600, and have wi-fi internet access from the wireless modem/router upstairs?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to purchase one because it's one of the only two Belkin models that supports WDS. The Belkin website however, says that the F5D7234 version 1router supports it. It doesn't have the -4 at the end. The one available to buy does have the -4 at the end of the model number, but it also doesn't say what version it is. Is there more than one version of this model?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a F5D8236-4 v2 wireless router. I have had problems with this router nearly since I bought it having to unplug it to reset at least once a day. Now it connects my hardwired PC to the internet, but the wireless led is blinking red. My network ID shows up on my wireless devices, allows me to choose connect and states connected on my wireless network tray icon, but then 2 seconds later it is not connected again. Is this simply a hardware failure that means I will have to buy another new router after only 6 months?

View 2 Replies View Relatedwe're running all our components (Computer, game consoles etc.) via ethernet cable. We have a wireless router (model #F7D4301) that we would like, if possible, to operate as a wired router without emitting a wireless signal (wife's concerned about excess emf). Guy at Bestbuy told me earlier that there's somekind of setting that'll shut off the wireless signal. Wasn't getting anywhere with their tech-support though.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased a Belkin N-300 router, model F9K1002V4, about 6 months ago, and recently upgraded my cable internet service to a 20+ mbps level, in hopes of improving the speed of my wireless devices. The speed on all of my wireless devices (a new laptop, ipad, and iphone) is still below 1mbps, even when I'm in the same room with the router. The speed on my wired computer registers above 20mbps, so I don't think the problem lies with the cable internet. I have tried to download the firmware update on Belkin's site, but my computer says it doesn't have the right program to run it, and it can't find the program on the web. I sent an e-mail to Belkin customer service, but they just sent me an automated reply, referring me back to their website, with the firmware update that I can't access.

It's working fine with a cable but won't work wireless even though the blue indicator shows the actual router to be working okay. I've repeatedly reset/re-powered the router to no avail.
