View 3 RepliesI have a Cisco 678 connected to my ISP (Qwest) using DHCP. This is connected to a Linksys WRT54g router. I also have a home server running for remote access to some files and media streaming. I just installed security cameras that I wish to monitor remotely via the internet.I can access my home files over the internet with no issue. However I am unable to access my cameras using the internet. Looking at my router incoming log, I see my request arriving, but I never get to the DVR attached to the camereas for remote viewing.I enabled bridging on the Cisco 678 but this did not solve the issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a linksys router model#wrt54gt v1 and I can not pull up the router's ip address to change the security settings. I have checked and I have the correct IP address of 192.168.1.1. I can ping the router and everything hooked up to the router is now working correctly. I was having problem with the router losing the internet ip address and having to turn everything off and then back on to connect to the internet. I reset the router and it seems to have corrected that problem but I now can not pull up the router's ip address. I have tried in Internet Explorer and Firefox. I have tried typing thebefore the ip address but it will not pull up. I have read countless posts trying to trouble shoot and figure out what's wrong with it and nothing will work.
View 5 Replies View RelatedPort forwarding on my linksys is not seem to be working from outside the network. It works fine if I try on the same network. External ip address: 69.117.132.xxx Ports from 8080 through 8080 forwarded Internal ip address: 192.168.1.150 - static ip address assigned to the webserver. I understand 80 could be blocked by the ISP. Can 8080 also be the same case?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI want to setup an home network with a wireless router and use multiple switches for wired connections through out my home. I currently have an Airport extreme hooked up to a cable modem and a leviton gateway hooked up to the Airport. The 2 computers connected to the Leviton are on a windows 7 homegroup and share fine, but won't share or discover any wireless device connected to Airport. My main goal is to have a wireless/wired network with all computers sharing information with each other. I want 2-3 wired switches/gateways with a min of 2 devices connected to each, connected to my wireless router whiich is connected to cable modem.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi've connected LAN-to-LAN an E1200 to WRT54G to improve wireless coverage in the basement and, more importantly, in the can. the set up seems to work. i also have an airport express joined to the network. (the slaved router's ip is one more than the master and DHCP is off.)i'm still curious about some details of the setup for the slaved router:
-- should it have the same SSID and the master?
-- on the master router, i have WPA2 Personal and a MAC filter of allowed devices. do i need to duplicate those settings on the slave? will it obey the MAC filter and WPA2?
-- do all the routers need to be on the same channel?
-- do all the routers routers need to use the same broadband? the E1200 has N band i'd like to use with the G, if that's possible.
-- if all the routers are on the same channel and SSID, will their signals interfere with each other if they're too close?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently contemplating on purchasing a 2nd WRT54G router with dd-wrt as a 2nd wireless repeater in the house. Just wondering if this would be possible. Current setup is Main router (D-Link DIR-615) on 3rd floor > WRT54G as wireless repeater on 2nd floor. I don't mind the loss of connection speed since the main purpose is to increase coverage to the 1st floor.

View 3 Replies View Related2 routers in series, is one more secure. I recently asked about setting up two routers in series as routers, one wireless one not. It was my understanding that the computers on the second router would not be visible to computers on the first router, the wireless one. My assumption was that this would make it more difficult for someone who got access to the wireless router to also access those computers on the second router.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to connect a Netgear wirless router to my cable modem. I have followed the instructions on the set up wizard but it fails to get a connection with the IP and DNS info I provide.I got the IP address info by connecting intially direct from the modem to the PC and then went to Run CMD and type ipconfig /all. I then started the set up wizard and followed the instructions, turning things on in specific order etc. After input the IP and DNS info it reports an error and tells me to check the address information is correct. My internet is a static IP connection (so it tells me and the IP information doesn't change).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have high-speed cable access currently coming into an older D-Link 4-port wired router. I need to buy a new wired and wireless router so I can sync my new Android 4G phone (I'm in an area with bad cell coverage but I can sync with wi-fi). I have a second house about 200 feet from mine and have 3 Cat5E lines running underground in conduit to it so the lady next door and and her two kids can use the internet (I have 40-50mb service for my business use at home). Problem is that my kids have discovered YouTube, streaming video, video chat, etc. and are burning up my bandwidth. I currently have two of the lines to them disconnected so that I can limit their use to one computer at a time. I'm considering having them buy a Wireless Access Point, can they connect it to the standard single Cat5E LAN wire that is coming from my new wired and wireless router when I buy it?
