Wireless Adapter D600 USB needs to connect to the internet to finish installing... Problem is, I bought it because I can't get my ethernet port to work on my desktop. It worked find in Windows 7, but Windows 8 needs more information.

View 1 Replies View Relatedmy netgear wireless router cannot see my n300 usb adapter. it shows as working in my device manager, but the netgear router says wireless not connected. when installing the adapter it said that windows has an icon to the left of the taskbar that i can click on and ask to join a network, which it didnt. it just showed network and an option to open network and sharing center, which i did. there were no wireless networks that showed available for me to log into with the adapter

Windows XP:
Start->Control Panel->Network Connections(classic view)->Right click on Local Area connection(wired)/Wireless network connection(wireless)->Properties->Select Internet Protocol(TCP/IP)->Properties->Under General tab, choose "Use the following IP address" and type the IP address, Subnet mask and Default Gateway, DNS and press OK.
Type in the ip address 192.168.2.20
Enter the subnet mask as 255.255.255.0
Enter the default gate way as 192.168.2.1
Type in the primary DNS as 4.2.2.2
Type the alternate DNS as 8.8.8.8
Am currently unstalling and reinstalling. The network is WEP with a long alpha numeric key, which was accepted and network detected and connected. No internet. No internet. No internet.
Everytime i plug the cable into my PC it doesn't detect it and the helper says to insert an ethernet cable.When I go to network sharing centre and check my connections it says network adaptor unplugged.im using wireless at the moment.My pc is a packard bell ipower x9810. it was windows vista but i upgraded to windows 7, i checked the packard bell website and can't find any networking adaptors. I have also checked device manager and it says - Belkin N+ wireless USB adapter #4 NVIDIA nForce 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet. there is no yellow exclamation mark.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Belkin wireless usb network adapter isn't connecting to the internet. The router and everything is fine as other computers in the house are working. It's just one desktop pc that isn't connecting.Our internet was running slower than it should and that was because we had too many wires and so in order to speed it up we decided to use a wireless connection instead of an ethernet cable.The problem seems to be that the adapter just isn't connecting. The little icon showing the status of the connection keeps going back and forth from no connection to attempting to connect.

Downstairs I have an older Dell PC that I use for my business. I have an Ethernet run from upstairs to downstairs. The Ethernet jack upstairs is near a cable outlet because we used to have cable internet. Now we have DSL and the phone jack is on the other side of the room. Here's my question... I have a Belkin N600 wireless router, is there any way I can plug it into the Ethernet port on the other side of the room, and use it like a wireless adapter? I have tried a few time to set it up as an "access point" but it doesn't seem to work. As soon as I do, I can no longer access the Belkin router to make any changes and I need to do a manual reset. can I plug my downstairs PC into the Belkin N600, and have wi-fi internet access from the wireless modem/router upstairs?

I can connect to our network printer and the other 3 computers without a problem but I cannot go ontothe internet. When I went here [URL] and installed the software my Windows 7 Pro w/64 bit does not recognize the adapter. When I go to Device Manager it does see the Belkin under other devices. When I choose the folder the drivers are located /program files (x86) it says it can't find the driver in that location.

I have unplugged the router and modem several times and that does not work. When I check the various wireless systems available (on the TV screen) I see mine there but it will not connect. At one point I did see something that said ethernet cable disconnected, but I checked and the cable is connected.

But..then it just hangs there,and eventually leads to-driver was not sucessfully installed(that is when i plug it out,but i waited more than an hour before that)I tried uninstaling and updating the driver for it,but it didnt worked.When i tried to uninstal the driver,again it just hanged.That is untill i unpluged the adapter..I have manually downloaded the latest driver,and when i check in properties it says that device is working properly.
