Linksys Wireless Router :: Installing Cisco Connect For E4200?

Jul 28, 2011

I just got a new E4200 router and downloaded Cisco Connect from the web site...file name CiscoConnect.E4200.1.4.11160.2.exe. When I try to run it, I find through Task Manager that Setup.exe is using about 35 to 40% CPU, but I'm never even getting to anything on the screen, nor is Task Manager even showing it as a running application. I'm running Windows XP SP3 (latest updates). I tuned off the AVG virus scan. But it still just seems to hang. BTW, I used the web interface to fully configure the router and it works fine so I could get by without Cisco Connect, but it might just be easier to use.

Dell :: Inspiron M5110 - No Connectivity After Installing 1702 Driver For Wireless Adapter?

Jul 4, 2013

I have a Inspiron M5110 Laptop and was having some trouble staying connected to my internet so this morning I decided I would try and update the drivers. I have uninstalled the Wireless and Blue Tooth drivers and reinstalled them, but now, it won't even TRY to connect at all. In the bottom right corner, there's a red x over the wireless bars, and says No Connections are available. Before , it would have a spinning circle while trying to connect, but it doesnt have that at all anymore. My Ethernet connection is working fine, I even uninstalled and reinstalled that driver (REALTEK) and its working with no problems.

If I run IPCONFIG, the wireless adapter doesn't even show up anymore. I've tried resetting, disabling, anything I could think of. I tried several versions too of the drivers, but nothing is working. Right now, I removed it, so I have a yellow exclamation mark next to Network Controller in my Device Settings. My hardware ID for the adapter is PCIVEN_168C&DEV_002B&SUBSYS_02051028

I think from the above info, I believe the wireless adapter belongs to Atheros.how I can get this thing to even attempt to connect to a network? I'm dead in the water...

Linksys Wireless Router :: How To Connect To EA4500 In Bridge Mode

Jan 16, 2013

I configured the EA4500 to work in bridge mode, to use it as an accespoint for an existing network (Linksys WRT610N). It gets an IP address (192.168.1.141), but does not offer a wireless network (the ethernet ports do offer network acces). When I try to access the configuration on IP address 192.168.1.141 I get the Linksys Smart Wifi page asking for the password. When I enter the password, a message "Waiting" appears and that's all. It keeps me waiting forever and I cannot access the configuration settings.I have tried to reset the router (30sec. reset button, power off 30sec, power on) but the result is the same.

Cisco Wireless :: To Connect Aeronet 1200 As A Bridge To A Linksys E1000

Mar 27, 2013

I need to setup my Aironet 1231 to connect some remote computers to a Cisco home wifi unit wirelessly. Here is what I need:

CiscoLinksys E1000 provides my wireless Internet connection in building A ----> Cisco Airnet 1231 is in building B and cat5 cable cannot be run between the buildings. Building B can see building A's wifi signal but only on one side. I need to provide wifi Internet to the entire B building. ---> Cisco 3550 PoE switch ----> another Areonet 1231 ---> Laptops via wifi.

OR

CiscoLinksys E1000 ----> Cisco Airnet 1231 ---> Wifi PC's

Either setup will work. My goal is to provide Internet access to one or more laptops via wifi. How would you set up the Areonet?

As a: Root bridge, Non-root bridge, or a Workgroup bridge?

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT120N / PPPoE - Bridge Modem And Connect To Internet

Dec 6, 2011

I recently changed my internet connection to DSL from Cable, so now I'm using PPPoE type of connection.

Right now my router is configured as Automatic DHCP with the modem doing the PPPoE connection. All is fine and well.

Since I own a PS3, and Nat Type 3 conection is really bad for my online gaming, I would like to bridge my modem and connect to the internet through my router. That way I can properly forward my ports, use QoS and effectively get a better connection on the PS3.

I was able to successfully bridge the modem, but the PPPoE config on the router isn't able to connect to the internet.

Modem and router have been reinitialized after the configurations were changed. I do have the username and passwords, and they were properly put on the router.

Linksys AE2500 - Wireless USB Adapter Can't Connect To Modem

Mar 18, 2013

I'm starting this thread because I can't get my new Linksys AE2500 wireless use adapter to connect to my new Linksys X2000 ADSL modem. I purchased both of these devices because my old 2wire modem kept dropping the wifi signal and I had to keep turning off and on the modem in order to get the wifi signal back. Now my problem is that I can't connect my AE2500 adapter to the x2000 modem at all, heck I can't connect any wifi enabled device to the modem even though the SSID and password is correct. The adapter finds the network but it can't connect to it at all. The x2000 modem works perfectly since I can use the internet if I connect my computer to it via Ethernet cable but unfortunately I have my desktop in my room and the modem is in the living room so connecting using an Ethernet cable really isn't an option. I tried using my old 2wire modem to see if it would connect to that modem and it did as a matter of fact and the speeds were good but as of late, the speeds have been horrible and the signal drops every few minutes. I get 1 bar in the network status and speed of 1.0 Mbps. Here is a picture for reference:

The problem only persists when using wifi though because when connected to the 2wire modem, the speeds are fast. Range isn't really a problem because im like 10 feet away from the router so I'm not sure what's causing that problem. I assume it's the modem being that its about 7 years old so I would really like to get my x2000 working to see if it's better than my old 2 wire. I'm currently connected to my old 2wire modem via my AE2500 wireless usb adapter as that's the only way I can use the internet. Here's my info:

Linksys Wireless Adapter :: E3000 Can't Connect To Network

Apr 23, 2010

I recently purchased the Linksys E3000 router. My old network set up had been 100% wired, but with the new router we have converted to wireless on some of the internet capable devices. I have 2 pc's side by side in separate room from the router that we purchased wireless adapters for, the Linksys AE1000. One pc set up fine and accesses the internet with no issues. The second pc cannot connect the network. It sees the network with a good signal strength, but it times out when trying to connect.I called tech support and have been through a variety of things with them to no avail so far. Both of these pc's are running Windows XP SP3. On the one that won't connect, have already confirmed in device manager that the adapter is correctly installed. I uninstalled it, rebooted, reinstalled it anyway with no luck. With tech support already tried disabling the 5ghz band and changing the channel on the 2.4ghz band to 11.I have confirmed several times I am entering the password in correctly, and I did pay attention to case sensitivity. When I run ipconfig/all, it says under Media State: Media Disconnected.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT610N 5ghz Xbox 360 Wireless N Adapter Won't Connect

Aug 12, 2011

WRT610v2 running latest firmware.
xbox 360 sees both the 2.4 network (ssid = network1) and the 5.0 network (ssid network2) when it does its scan.

Initially, xbox showed network strength for 2.4 network at 3 out of 4 bars and 5.0 network at 1 out of 4 bars. Connects to 2.4 network just fine, Won't pull an ip address and reports "Not connected" when I select the 5.0 network.

I tweaked the wireless settings per some suggestions I found in this forum and now it shows the 5.0 network at 4 out of 4 bars signal strength. Also turned security on and off and xbox 360 reported the changes in security on the 5.0 network. So the xbox 360 is definitely seening the 5.0 network. and can tell if it is running WPA2 or not. If it can see the 5.0 network and recognizes what security and network type (infrastructure) is set, would would stop it from connecting to the WRT610n router and getting an IP address? No mac filters or firewalls are set and, again, connects just fine and gets an ip address if I select the 2.4 (network1 ssid) instead.

different ways to connect a printer to the X3000. how to connect a printer to the X3000, i.e. wirelessly, USB port, or directly via one of the LAN ports. I also checked the product information for X3000 on the CISCO website and it only makes reference of the USB port as StorageLink.

.  Since then I have reconsidered and now am looking to purchase the E4200V2 to connect in bridge mode to my X3000 instead of the E1500.  Correct me if I am wrong but connecting the E4200V2 to my X3000 should be the same connecting the E1500 to my X3000, i.e. bridge mode? Yes or No?And my final set of questions is rregarding what would be the best set-up for adding a storage device and printer to my network once I get the E4200V2 and set it up in bridge mode?

-  Should I connect both the printer and storage device to my the E4200V2?

-  Should I connect them both to my X3000, which provides my internet connection?

-  Should I connect one to the X3000 and one to the E4200, if so which to which for best set-up?
