I have installed a SumvisionSWV322P Wireless PCI Adapter in to my desktop and have configured it to run on my existing home network: I can connect no problem but after about 10 mins my whole desktop just locks up: The only way I can get out of this is by re-booting by turning the machine off completely by the on/off button. I have a wi fi sky adapter,and when i plug it in,it says installing driver software. But..then it just hangs there,and eventually leads to-driver was not sucessfully installed(that is when i plug it out,but i waited more than an hour before that)I tried uninstaling and updating the driver for it,but it didnt worked.When i tried to uninstal the driver,again it just hanged.That is untill i unpluged the adapter..I have manually downloaded the latest driver,and when i check in properties it says that device is working properly.

BUT, just bought a Denon AVR 1913 stereo with wireless built in, but it requires ethernet hookup to router or a wireless bridge. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Inspiron M5110 Laptop and was having some trouble staying connected to my internet so this morning I decided I would try and update the drivers. I have uninstalled the Wireless and Blue Tooth drivers and reinstalled them, but now, it won't even TRY to connect at all. In the bottom right corner, there's a red x over the wireless bars, and says No Connections are available. Before , it would have a spinning circle while trying to connect, but it doesnt have that at all anymore. My Ethernet connection is working fine, I even uninstalled and reinstalled that driver (REALTEK) and its working with no problems.
If I run IPCONFIG, the wireless adapter doesn't even show up anymore. I've tried resetting, disabling, anything I could think of. I tried several versions too of the drivers, but nothing is working. Right now, I removed it, so I have a yellow exclamation mark next to Network Controller in my Device Settings. My hardware ID for the adapter is PCIVEN_168C&DEV_002B&SUBSYS_02051028
I think from the above info, I believe the wireless adapter belongs to Atheros.how I can get this thing to even attempt to connect to a network? I'm dead in the water...

I am using a Sumvision SVW322U wireless dongle/usb to connect to the internet In the last couple of weeks it will keep disconnection every 10 - 15 mins. All drivers are up to date and i have disconnected the firewall and anti virus but still the problem occurs. My os is windows 7 Ultimate.

Two years ago, a lightning strike fried my ADSL router and LAN port on the motherboard (ASUS A7V8X-X) of my now very old system. After that, I bought a Wi-Fi USB adapter (AirLive WL1600-USB) and disabled the fried LAN port. Since that moment, my computer kept freezing totally randomly for the past two years - it didn't matter whether I run a dozen of programs or simply leave the system alone. First I didn't know what's causing those freezes, until a week ago. You see, we were forced to cancel our ADSL account for four months, so I haven't used that Wi-Fi adapter for the entire summer (I disconnected it and uninstalled its drivers). During that time - not a single freeze for four months, no matter how great the system load or temperature. A couple of weeks ago, we activated our ADSL account again, so I plugged the Wi-Fi adapter in and installed its drivers - and the freezes started again.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am a medical student and I use my college wifi to download torrent files via utorrent. Earlier they have blocked torrent sites, So... I use to download the torrent address via my 3G Dongle and then open it in the utorrent to download the whole file ( 4 GB or 8 GB size). The WiFi provides about 1-2 Mbps speed and the files ude to download very easily . But, now along with the blocked site , ... the utorrent is not catching speed.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to replace my actiontec router with the Cisco 871 I have little expirience with CLI-IOS so I was trying to use sdm express that failed to load and when I finally got it to load it still didnt work and I ended up getting locked out of the router it was totally unresponsive. So I did a reset and now am attempting to use the Cisco Configuration Assistant to set up my wan connection but it have been loading security related data for 15 minutes and I have a feeling it's not doing anything at all. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.... Any advice.... I just was trying to get a default set up that would give me internet access Im not trying to enable any of the security functionality at this point.
View 0 Replies View RelatedI had a custom device/computer on my network that was hacked from hong kong. It's one of those things where I seriously think the chinese have built a back door into it when they built it or something because everything was secured and monitored.The device runs it own OS or something like that I guess you could say. It can also run it in standalone mode broadcasting it's own signal. Once I figure this out I may not put it online anymore but thats besides the point right now. When it was hacked I'm pretty sure the port it uses to connect was changed from 80 to 591. When it runs in standalone mode I can connect to it but I am unable to actually access it's proprietary graphic network interface. It sends out UDP every few seconds or so and basically I was trying to search for some type of udp broadcast monitor and have tried using network tools such as netstat, port scanning, multicast, etc on all of the big three OS's because sometimes it seemed to finnicky what it wants to connect to. I've tried to let it connect back to my router again which it seems to do, but is then denied access and I think it may even have a trojan or somethng so I don't want it to that but if I have to to access it again I will.In standalone mode I've it usually trys to connect on 192...5 or 192...7 and I've tried to get through 591, 23, 80 etc. multiple times with no luck.

I've been using the trial version of a product called Folder Lock on another computer than the one I'm using right now to type this message. I got a little too enthusiastic about locking away folders into Folder Lock on that other computer, and I think I locked away Folder Lock itself.In the past (before this problem developed), when I clicked a Folder Lock icon, it used to prompt me for the Folder Lock password, which I would then input, and then Folder Lock would open, and I could lock and unlock folders. But the problem is that now I don't get prompted for the Folder Lock password. I get a message (from Folder Lock) that says, roughly, "you may not have permissions to carry out that action." So even though I have the Folder Lock password, I can't open Folder Lock, because it won't prompt me for the password, and just says I don't have permissions.I also locked into Folder Lock my downloads folder on that computer, and apparently folders or icons that used to allow me to access the internet on that computer. I can no longer access internet from that computer.I'm wondering how I can get Folder Lock to prompt me for the password, so I can open Folder Lock. I would like to unlock all the folders I locked -- including if I locked Folder Lock itself! I locked away a lot of my important stuff. I wonder if I should do a system restore to a date before I installed Folder Lock, but I wonder if the system restore might fail to delete Folder Lock, because Folder Lock might prevent its own deletion. I have Folder Lock 7. I have Windows 7.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe are using ASA5520 as our VPN concentrator and has configured IPSec authentication using digital certificates with Microsoft CA for the remote access VPN. The AAA server used for remote user authentication is Windows Active Directory. Screenshot of the AAA configuration is attached. The problem we face is that the "Login DN" account (marked in red box in the screenshot) is frequently getting locked out in the active directory. I have confirmed that the password is the same on both ends and the account is not used any where else.
The NTP server configured for the VPN concentrator is the Active Directory itself but no accounts are configured (not required) for updating the time service in the concentrator.
I am currently running cisco ACS 5.1.0.44 and use active directory as the main authentication identity store to allow network administrators to have access to network devices in my organization .As per the established security policies in my organization , the ACS has to disable any account after 3 failed login attempts to any network devices .i have gone through all the settings oN the acs but couldn't find where or how it is done .

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a DSL modem with wireless networking, and I am trying to install a second wireless router for a separate network. The standalone wireless network has five laptops networked to a sixth laptop, in a server/client setup. To complicate things, I am plugging the server laptop into a LAN connection on the DSL modem. The server shows both the LAN connection with internet access, and the second wireless network without internet access. The client laptops just show the wireless network, without internet access.
This is exactly what I need - internet access for the server but no access for the five clients. I have each wireless router on a separate channel and only auto connect to the standalone wireless network. Is there anything I need to do to the setup of either of the routers to avoid problems?? The wireless network without internet access seems to be abnormally slow in response and I am wondering if there is any interference between networks. None of the laptops are accessing the DSL wireless network, but I still need that DSL wireless capability for other computers in the building.
I am working on a Drupal site which is on a virtual server (the way it's been explained to me). I've been told I need to work with it through webdev. So I can copy a file off the server and onto my local machine. I make my edits and then try to upload it to the server. I get locked out with the message: Error 0x80070021: The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file. I have tried shutting down my code editor, opening and closing the connection, tried different methods of reaching the server (Cyberduck and through Window's map network feature) to no avail. What can I do?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIntalled a new router (Linksys Cloud 1200) yesterday. Immediately after that the 2 computers that were connected to the network could no longer access the internet. My laptop and my ipad can access the internet wirelessly. The laptop which was not connected to the network when I connected the router can access the network both wirelessly and wired. Printers attached to the network will print without a problem.Finally I took an old computer out of storage (running WinXP) and hooked it up to the wired network. It too has no problems accessing the network. So have to assume the issue is a software issue with the two computers that were hooked up to the network when I changed the router.I have read the posts here - I did a stack reset on one of the computers but no luck. I removed Norton 360 and Team Viewer which in other posts people said they had issues with...to no avail.
Since I dont have a wireless connection to the 2 computers that cannot access the internet - I cannot download TSG SysInfo. However here I did copy the ipconfig lines below from the desktop thats not responding. [code] Was working fine until I replaced the router.
