Pc Lost Connection With Wifi After Installing A New Printer And Cannot Reconnect?
Jan 8, 2012went to uninstall the other two and then went to install our new one on the main computer.I have now lost connection with the wifi to this pc and only this one. (the internet still works on two laptops) unfortunately i need this computer for work and therefore need the internet quite urgently. Perhaps uninstalled something by accident and if so what is it and what can i download?

Mar 29, 2012I have trouble accessing the internet from my laptop after installing Ciso AIR-LAP1142N-A-K9 AP.The AP are connetected to my router (which has a DHCP enabled) via a switch and each has a Fix IP address with network mask, gateway and DNS already configured. When I triy to connect to the access point, only the IP address and network mask are automatically assigned to the my laptop. and I have to manually input the gatway and DNS to be able to navigate the internet. I would like to know which configuration will allow any node that tries to connect the internet via the access point to be automatically configured to access the internet after authentication.

Lost Wireless Access To Internet
Dec 6, 2011A week ago this laptop was working fine. However, now it will not connect via wireless to the internet. It says that it connects to the router but not the internet. I can connect to the internet if I use the wired LAN connection. I tried a restore to two weeks ago (when it was working) and it did not solve the problem. I do see in the wireless network connection status that IPv4 connectivity = local and IPv6 connectivity = local. While on another laptop (that is working and connects to the same wireless router) the IPv4 = internet and IPv6 = no network access. I think this may be the issue, but am unable to find out how to change them.
OS = MS Vista Home SP2.

May 1, 2012Our last router seemed to be having problems so my roommate got a new one from Time Warner as a replacement. All of our other roommates had no problem at all when reconnecting to the new router. There are 4 of us, but any given time there may only be two of us using the internet....very seldom all 4 are home at the same time. The only computer having a problem happens to be mine and the only machine with Vista on it.
One of my roommates changed the router while I was away from my notebook which was running and connected to the internet at the time he made the switch. I don't know if this was the cause for all my troubles in the last week trying to figure out why I can't get back online, but I had no problems with the other router except for the signal dropping too low even when we were within a couple of feet of it. There were no changes made on my end nor did anyone else have to make any changes to their computers other than connecting with the new password. I often take my netbook with me and have connected to hundreds of other networks without a problem until this recent change. I can still log onto other wireless networks, but just not to our home wireless network .
I can use the Ethernet and connect to the internet just fine, but I can't seem to get passed the Limited Connectivity when connecting thru the wireless connection. The network key has been double and triple checked by myself and others...it is the correct security key. I've tried changing up the security key just to see what would happen and it won't allow me to connect to the network unless I put in the correct key which still limits me to Local connectivity anyway.

Sep 5, 2011I use a D-Link DWA-552 Xtreme Wireless-N PCI adapter on my Windows XP Home SP3 desktop computer that has been working flawlessly for months, until last night when it suddenly stopped being able to connect.I was just on the web last night doing what I normally do, and all of a sudden out of no where I lost internet connection and I couldn't get it back. I've tried resetting the router downstairs, I've tried restarting and shutting down the computer, and did three system restores (that all failed anyway), and none of these things are getting my connection back. Now also for some reason I can't even open up my network adapter's wireless network manager anymore because it closes itself not even a second after I boot it up.The modem and router downstairs look perfectly fine and all the other computers in the house, even the laptops, can all connect but mine, so something must be up with my network adapter.

Recently my router have been experiencing an issue with internet connectivity with Unifi.I will be able to connect to Unifi, the status is "Connected". However after some time though, like 5 - 10 mins, I will be no longer able to browser any pages or get disconnected from online games. Checking through ping tests, I can see that I am unable to get a response. Checking the router shows that I am still connected to Unifi. After a minute or so the connectivity is restored, but the issue happens again as before. This happens with both wireless and cable. Attached is a sample of the ping test result.
Things I have tried:
Updating the firmware to the latest version
Re-configuring the modem
Re-setting the Unif credentials in the router
Downgrading the firmware

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3200 Lost Internet Connect Every A Couple Hours
Dec 4, 2012I have a Linsys E3200 router for almost a year. It's been working fine until recently. It kept losing internet connection every a couple hours or even shorter. I have to power cycle the router in order to make it to work. However, sometimes that won't work either. I also tried to restore the router to the factory default but that doesn't seem to work.
I have updated the router with the latest firmware (1.04). I am using a cable connection and it never gives me any problem if I just connect my computer to it. I also test my network with another old netgear router that works just fine.

Other computers in the house are fine with wireless and the direct connection.This computer I am working on is the one directly connected (not wireless).I tried the connection on other computers and it works.When troubleshooting, it indicates it lost the drivers so we downloaded the correct drivers and installed them on the computer. It indicates it has the updated drivers now. Funny thing is when you start of the computer the error message on the screen is Installation or Upgrade Error A problem occurred during the upgrade process.you must restart your computer. Vista 64bit Lost Connection To Internet?
Jul 29, 2012I have just turned my PC on to find that i have lost connection to the internet through my desktop PC. I am using the wired connection to my router, and i also have my xbox connected to the router which is working ok too. My laptop also works when connecting to the router both wired and wirelesly.
My network adaptor on my desktop is a Nvidia nForce, i have tried updating the driver on this to no avail. Next i tried to ping the router but i get PING Transmit faild, error code 1231. I ran IPCONFIG /all and found that i had no default gateway set, and also it was saying that the ethernet adaptor was : Media Unoperational, but since i rebooted both the pc and router the media unoperational tag has gone.
On the network and sharing page it shows i am connected to an unidenfied network but there is a cross through the internet. It also says the access and Connection for the unitentified network are Local only.
After Disabling / Enabling Connection - Internet Lost?
Feb 4, 2011I no longer have internet access from my home network ONLY on my desktop computer. Everything was working fine as always - then while I was in my Network and Sharing Center, and clicked on my ethernet connection, 'Local Area Connection 3', I accidentally disabled it. No big deal I thought, so I re-enabled the connection. Except for some reason, my connection is all screwed up now. The name of this connection was and always has been 'dkm2' and now it just says 'Network', with no internet access. I have unplugged the cord and plugged it into this laptop and it immediately recognizes 'dkm2' and connects flawlessly, so I know the problem is on the desktop computer's end, and not the cable or router. I have tried reinstalling the ethernet adapter, as well as reinstalling/updating all drivers for it.The network diagnostic tool turns up with a message that says the connection between either my ethernet adapter or router and the Internet is broken. No matter what I seem to try, I can't get my connection to go back to it's normal 'dkm2' connection and stop giving me a generic, disconnected 'Network'. I can't figure out what could have changed. All that happened was the disabling and enabling of Local Area Connection 3.
