Two years ago, a lightning strike fried my ADSL router and LAN port on the motherboard (ASUS A7V8X-X) of my now very old system. After that, I bought a Wi-Fi USB adapter (AirLive WL1600-USB) and disabled the fried LAN port. Since that moment, my computer kept freezing totally randomly for the past two years - it didn't matter whether I run a dozen of programs or simply leave the system alone. First I didn't know what's causing those freezes, until a week ago. You see, we were forced to cancel our ADSL account for four months, so I haven't used that Wi-Fi adapter for the entire summer (I disconnected it and uninstalled its drivers). During that time - not a single freeze for four months, no matter how great the system load or temperature. A couple of weeks ago, we activated our ADSL account again, so I plugged the Wi-Fi adapter in and installed its drivers - and the freezes started again.
I have a simple ASA, ACS, AD schema for RA VPN authentication. All is working for a few months now, but since the initial deployment we have this connectivty issue regarding ACS and MS AD. At random intervals, 1 month/1 week, the ACS connection status becomes "DISCONNECTED" although the CLI shows that ad client is running. But because of that, no RA VPNs can be authenticated. Clock is not a problem, since it didn't change automatically nor was manually configured prior to the malfunction.
When I try to boot my ASA5550 it hangs at "booting system please wait". I have tried to reseting the ASA but this doesn't work. what to try as I cannot get to the rommon.
Wi-fi working fine prior to updating to itunes 10.6.1 but when I update on my laptop i have no access to internet showing "limited connectivity".Only way i can resolve this currently is to restore to earlier point and have now deleted itunes. However i need access to itunes for ipad and iphones.
I've a Cisco 5550 which hangs on powering up and stays at " Booting System, please wait..." forever and it has a flashing green Status LED.
The steps I've taken so far are:
1. Consoled with a different computer and tried to send the break signals (didn't work) 2. Open up the unit tried to remove the RAM's and reseated them again. 3. Taken out the CMOS battery on the board and replaced it with the new one (no luck still)
What is the next step, or shall I assume that the unit is dead.
recently i bought a x1000 for my home network. I use the x1000 as router an wireless accessPoint between my WAN internet uplink an my home network...yesterday the router hang up completely. internet stoppp working. so i tried to access to x1000 to check if PPPoE connection was still active. But it did not load the webinterface. I tried to connect over WLAN and LAN. Both not working!
I have a wi fi sky adapter, and when i plug it in,it says installing driver software. But..then it just hangs there, and eventually leads to-driver was not sucessfully installed(that is when i plug it out,but i waited more than an hour before that)I tried uninstaling and updating the driver for it,but it didnt worked. When i tried to uninstal the driver, again it just hanged. That is untill i unpluged the adapter..I have manually downloaded the latest driver, and when i check in properties it says that device is working properly.
I have installed a SumvisionSWV322P Wireless PCI Adapter in to my desktop and have configured it to run on my existing home network: I can connect no problem but after about 10 mins my whole desktop just locks up: The only way I can get out of this is by re-booting by turning the machine off completely by the on/off button. My OS is Windows XP Professional version 2002 SP3:
Network running about 60 computers, most of which are running windows 7 professional. Some are on a domain, some are not.At (seemingly) random times, some computer on the network will lose the ability to browse websites (including the web interfaces of networked devices). I can't identify what circumstances cause this to occur. I only find out about it when someone calls me.From the affected computer:I can ping sites I can ping our Cyberoam UTM (which acts as our DNS, DHCP, and firewall)disabling/enabling connection doesn't fix the problem releasing/renewing ip doesn't fix the problem flushing dns doesnt fix the problem uninstalled antivirus on two test machines, problem still randomly manifests.replaced the Cyberoam with newer model users have claimed that if they wait a long period of time (40+ minutes) the problem sometimes resolves.rebooting the computer resolves the issue until it randomly occurs again changing the computer's mac address also resolves the issue until it randomly occurs again.
The wireless drops specifically from my laptop constantly at random times. When the wireless drops in order for me to be able to reconnect i have to restart the router itself. There are also random times where the Wi-Fi stops broadcasting altogether. I have a computer connected via Ethernet and it does not lose connection during these times. All the computers are running Windows 7 and the Router is up to date on firmware.
I recently replaced my harddisk and ever since I've been getting BSOD's whenever I try to watch a video online (no matter what website I'm on). I'm pretty sure it's not my GPU, because I can watch my own videos just fine. It could be the RAM,ause I ran Memtest86+ for 7 passes and it found two errors, but I have no problems playing games. So, I'm thinking it's my network-driver (Realtek) even though I already (re)installed the latest version
My task is to plan out on how to setup a WiFi Access System in our college. There are more than 3000 users which include students, faculty, etc.Area is spread across almost 1 acre of land area.
Q1. How do I go about setting up a system where MAC based WiFi Access system is achieved? Q2. What equipment will be needed, like routers, access points, etc.? Q3. How many Access Points will be required, and which will be the best in terms of cost, range, speed and performance. Q4. Which would be the best equipment for this? Q5. User management solution?
My set-up is as follows.Orange Livebox (with no wireless network card), which is hooked up to a Buffalo Airstation HP-G54. Which is in access point mode.I have an old desktop PC (Medion from 2003/2004), and a new A52J laptop. Everything works perfectly fine, and I had great internet access all over the house.I have a new housemate who has moved in, and she has brought with her a Dell Inspiron N5030 laptop. This laptop is causing me nightmares!!All of us are on Windows 7.Basically, the internet is disconnecting all of the time, and right clif**king the icon and trying to fix does nothing at all. The only way to fix things are to reset both the Orange Livebox modem and the Buffalo Airstation router. My laptop/PC are using static IP addresses, I've tried hers on a static IP and also using DHCP - neither worked. I have tried ALL channels on the Buffalo Airstation - nothing works. I've tried updating her wireless network card driver - it did nothing.
We are experiencing continuing high CPU issues on our 6500 (generally 80+% most times).
#show proc cpu sorted | exc 0.00 CPU utilization for five seconds: 75%/67%; one minute: 69%; five minutes: 68% PID Runtime(ms) Invoked uSecs 5Sec 1Min 5Min TTY Process
I had an issue today on a 4507r today where when I formatted the compact flash in slot0: (512mb) it caused the CPU to spike to 100% this took about 1.5 hours and did not cause adjacency loss or any thing, but was worrisome. This was a sup IV is this normal and should u let it complete like I did? Also when I copied the os to it from boot flash it caused the same behavior. I have done this a bunch in 6500 sup 720 without this issue?
I am using LMS 4.0.1 to monitor the data center network devices. I have two core switches, each core switch has an ACE module installed on it. I have configured many virtual context on each ACE module, and these ACE contexts are acting as primary and standby roles. The problem i faced with is LMS reports the virtual ip address configured on each ace context as duplicate ip address, and i didn't know how to deal with it. As to my understanding, this should be the normal behavior due to my setup, but how can i remove this alarm on LMS 4.0.1?
I tried to use the Dell on a local wifi system with no luck and now I've done something and can't log into the computer. I've tried every user name and password I can think of.
I have been using my ACER tablet with my Netgear router for several months with no problems at all. Then last night I decided to restore my tablet to its default settings, meaning that all my programs, apps, files, etc., were erased. Then I rebooted my tablet and started from scratch, entering the requested information. Everything appeared to be going just fine until I turned on Wi-Fi and attempted to connect to my network (Secured with WPA2), which was available and showed Good signal strength. I clicked on it, then attempted to enter my password. As soon as I entered the first digit of my password, the option to Connect to the Internet immediately disappeared, becoming greyed-out. Repeated attempts to connect failed for the same reason.
I called ACER Level 2 Support and tried a couple of procedures which didn't solve the problem. One was pushing the Reset Button twice. The technician told me that I may have a problem with my router settings. He suggested that I go to a local fast food outlet and see if I could connect there. I went to McDonald's and was able to get on the Net without using a password. I returned home and tried again to connect, but still was unable to enter my password.
Would it make sense for me to completely disconnect my router from everything, then reconnect and go through that set-up process all over again? I guess I would have to change my User Name & Password, or whatever is required. Also, if I go this route, should I change my security setting from WPA2 to a different option -- WEP, for example? I just don't want to foul things up to the point where my laptop wouldn't work. I doubt that would happen. I recently received the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade which has been working satisfactorily; however, it does mean that I'm now attempting to start over from scratch with a different operating system.
I've made an observation that the newer routers above my E3000 don't have LED icons to indicate the port is connected/active and also to show Wi-Fi is active? I find this good at a glance without having to go look in the back of the unit to see which ports are open etc.
I recently updated my NVIDIA nForce 10/100/1000 mbps ethernet driver and now my computer wont connect to the internet. In fact, it doesnt even acknowledge that the ethernet chord is plugged in. I am running windows 7 and have had no problems for years now. Since ive had my PC for so long I decided it was time to update, now im at a loss of what to do. I am currently using my laptop to submit this post, as my PC is not a wifi enabled device. I recall having this problem back when I first had this computer made and found a resolution online, (cant seem to find the same site i used back then.) I recall that it had something to do with me using the command prompt. While i have been looking for an answer, I have tried the following with no avail:
Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log press enter Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log press enter Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog press enter
I have two WS-C2950G-24-EI switches each of which were running software version 12.1(22)EA2-C2950-I6Q4L2-M. Both swtiches were viewable from Network Assistant version 5.6(3) and part of a community. I then updated the software on one of the switches to 12.1(22)EA14, and now Network Assistant will not add the new updated device to the community and gives an error of "WS-C2950G-24-EI is not supported as community member". Is the latest version (12.1(22)EA14) not supported by Network Assistant? The release notes indicate the Minimum Software Release is 12.1(22)EA4.

I can't able to recognize a system - all wifi clients lose connection. When this happens, the ping answer time rech the ~2000 times, then totally lose the connection, the SSID is dissapear - checking with my phone (android - wifi analyzer) and TL-WN822N USB wifi adapter (with the inSSIDer application). Meanwhile the cable clients and the WAN connections works fine, didn't experience anything. If I restart the wifi service with the hardware on/off button, it runs well for some time. This problem appeared when I used the two older official firmware too.
I tried the auto-chanel function width auto channel width, tried to manually set up one of the less interfered channels with both 20MHz and 40MHz channel width, but none of them bring the solution. The intresting thing is, if I change the router with an old D-Link DI-604, the signal is weak, but the wifi connection is stable, with the same TL-WN822N adapter.I tried to guarantee the router, but after two weeks, my reseller said, it looks ok, they - at the TP-Link service - didn't find anything.
I'm getting a tv with wifi, is there anything I can do to use it to connect my desktop to wifi? i will be using the tv as a monitor via HDMI. If not I'll just get a pci wifi card. I just think it would be incredibly useful to be able to use the tv's.
So, I currently have a Toshiba Satellite, L550 Series, and in the new year, my battery started becoming loose in the charging spot, so I turned my computer off for the night to save power, and went out the following day. When I turned my computer back on, it started to say that I had no internet connection available, and when I tried to troubleshoot, instead of working like it normally does, it said I needed to plug in an ethernet cable, which I don't use at all.So, I decided to look around my Network and Connections page, and when I clicked the link called "See Full Map", instead of seeing what I normally see (which is my computer, my brothers computer, and my sisters computer, then the internet router) I only saw a sentence along the lines of "The adapter needs to be plugged in".
I have been trying to make my laptop a hotspot but can't seem to get one to work. When I look for the sharing tab for the wifi adapter, there isn't one.
My router/modem is at one corner of the house and my computer is supposed to go in the other corner of the house. I am looking to play Battlefield 3, CS:GO, CoD:4, DayZ, and some other online games that require good connection to even do decent. I am going to be downloading different things and uploading videos to YouTube. I need a VERY FAST WiFi adapter that is comparable to wired connection, and remember, my computer will be all the way across the house.
So I just got this Etekcity 1000mW 802.11 B/G Long range High Power USB Wireless WiFi Network Adapter with 6dBi Antenna RTL8187L Chipset: Computers & Accessories I installed the driver on my windows XP then restart the computer.. However, when I try connnecting to my network the first thing it does is start connecting... it dosnt ask for the password. After attempting to connect, nothing happens. So, I set up my own network, type in the SSID and type in the password and its confirmation. It still wont connect I tried re-installing and repairing and nothing will happen..So I test it on my macbook pro and everything works fine.PS my windows XP cannot get internet at all so I cant download anything nor do I have a USB?
when I couldnt turn on the wifi from the switch. It remained orange(which is its off state) and so I went to the device manager and the wifi adapter was shown there but with an exclamation mark. Showing the error "the device cannot be started(code 10)". So I uninstalled and rebooted, only to get the same error when it got reinstalled.
I'm using a XP sp3 machine,dial-up. Was hoping to get connected to open/allowed wifi connection. Did some research, and a ALFA AWUS036h USB adapter looked like the one, good reviews. When I first plugged in and loaded software, it worked great as far as seeing 10-12 connections, and even showed as connected with strong signal on one open/allowed connection, but wasn't connected.Seems like the software doesn't run good, worked at first and I had netstumbler installed and 8-10 stations were showing there also, but after a reboot had no stations on mfg software, none on netstumbler, and never would show stations on XP Zero config., seemes the software got screwy after reboot.
