Streaming Video From Windows 7 To Xbox 360 - Pixelation / Lag

Feb 10, 2013

I have been trying to stream videos from my PC to my Xbox 360 via the Windows Media Center app. I've got it all set up, my PC detects the 360 just fine and vice-versa. However, when I go into the app on the 360 and select the video to play, it plays it extremely pixelated. Usually it just freezes up on an extremely pixelated frame while the sound of the video continues on as normal. I've tried MP4, MKV, AVI, WMV, etc. all at multiple resolutions all with the same result.I can stream just fine via HBO, Netflix, Amazon, etc. so I don't think it is my network or internet speed. I've tried putting the 360 on a static IP, I've gone through all the FAQ from Microsoft about enabling Windows Services and the like, none of which has made a difference.I am able to stream to my PS3 just fine, so I am not sure what is going on with the 360.

Denon AVR-99 / Two Modems On One Incoming Cable Line?

Jan 7, 2011

I have Comcast broadband with one modem connected to my PC. I just bought a Denon AVR-991 Receiver that has internet capability. I I plan to use it for internet radio, etc.The problem is that each piece of equipment is in different areas of the house. I could connect the cable modem to the receiver and connect the PC to the internet via a wireless router, but I don't want to lose the speed of a direct connection on the PC.. can I have two different modems connected to the same incoming cable line? FYI, the existing modem is a Linksys BEFCMU10, and the second modem is one Comcast is in the process of sending to me as I just added Voip phone service to my account.

Can't Connect To Direct TV HD Receiver

Jul 23, 2011

Just updated my DTV to a HD receiver which has the ability to access movies/shows via internet so I hard wired my belkin router to the TV receiver and I can't get it to connect. The router light does not go on showing me I am not connecting to the TV receiver. When I go into the DTV receiver it reads all my IP address and has an OK behind them, but says there is an error and the internet is not connected. When I plug the same cable into my PC or my laptop the light on the router does come on. Also my iphone does receive WIFI via the same router. I called DTV and they said everything on the receiver is correct. I called my router folks and they said everything is correct and that it must be the DTV receiver. I've been using this router for several years and their tech guy sounded like he knew what he was doing. how I can get the router to recognize the TV receiver?

Here are my router settings: I used the WAN IP info in my TV receiver. 2Wire 2701HG As Wi-Fi Receiver?

Mar 3, 2012

Old Configuration:

A 2 Wire 2701HG-B DSL MODEM/Router Upstairs
Wired into 2 PCs upstairs
WiFi to a PC Downstairs.

I killed the DSL service and got U-verse, but that added a new Modem/WiFi downstairs. I still have the 2Wire upstairs, but it has no phone connection. Can I use the 2Wire to "Receive" and "distribute" the WiFi signal from downstairs?

I don't see how to turn off the DSL MODEM. If I put in the ID and Password for the WiFi router downstairs into the 2Wire upstairs, will it "Login" or will it conflict? Are there special settings for the PCs to access the U-Verse router through the 2Wire?Basically, I want to know if the upstairs 2Wire can receive the U-verse signal and convert it to wired signal for the 2 upstairs PCs.

I checked, the router doesn't have ddwrt support, I'm new to hacking around with routers and networks, so I don't know how to do this, I see how it is logically possible

Cisco Wireless :: WCS 7.0 - Northbound Notification Receiver Unreachable

Dec 12, 2010

I'm trying to configure an snmp notification reciever on WCS 7.0, so that critical alarms get reported to our central console. Following the configuration guide I was able to add the reciever as northbound, but after adding it I get an alarm saying that it is unreachable by WCS so all alarm notification will be suspended. I have tested snmp and ping connectivity between the WCS box and the notification reciever and it works ok, is there some other traffic that I might be missing?. I've seen some packets going from the WCS box to TCP port 7 on the reciever, which as far as I know is the echo service, is that what WCS uses to test connectivity?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 2960 Drops Multicast Receiver

Jun 17, 2012

A 2960G switch is doing IGMP snooping and is configured as the querier. There is no multicast routing.

Port 1 - Video Set Top Box A
Port 2 - Video Set Top Box B
Port 3 - Multicast Source

Both Set Top Boxes A & B are set to receive the video delivered in the same multicast group.Every 60 seconds the switch generates an IGMP General Query message which is sent out all the ports in the VLAN.There is a 10 second timeout in the Query message. Devices that wish to join (or remain joined) to the multicast group have this amount of time to respond with a Join Message directed at the multicast group. Devices deliberately wait a random duration within the timeout time before replying.

For some reason (which I don't understand), if the switch receives a Join request message from a Set Top Box, it forwards that messages out of the port to the other Set Top Box. So, let's say Box A responded with the Join Message first. Box B now sees the Join message and now thinks there is another multicast receiver on its branch of the network, so it suppresses its Join Message to avoid sending an unnecessary message. If by chance Box A responds first 2 or 3 times in a row, the switch will not have seen a response from port 2 for awhile, so it prunes that port from the multicast. Eventually, Box B responds first and gets re-joined onto the multicast. It is now Box A that may get pruned if it is consecutively slower.

How do I prevent the switch from replicating the Join message out to the other Set Top Box? I have verified this behavior with Wireshark. But, I believe the Join message is only supposed to be forwarded to a multicast router (if there is one - and there isn't), not to other ports. The 2960 is running 12.2(58) SE2.

Streaming Videos From PC To PS3?

My problem is that I have to go into the services on my PC and restart the WMPNetworkSvc service every time I switch the PS3 on, otherwise the PS3 doesn't detect the PC.

how to make this a permanent arrangement?

Routers / Switches :: Transfer WAN From Radio Receiver Through Chain Of Routers

May 24, 2012

For my work I am looking to create wireless capabilities to remote locations. To do this we are using a standard modem/router that is connected to an Engenius (802.11b/g) wireless outdoor radio connected to a dish antenna. We are able to go to locations (3+km) and then with a corresponding receiving antenna (using LoS), receive the Internet and connect both to computers at the transmitting point as well as to the WWW. The problem exists is that we want to employ a series of routers at the receiving end that would be able to carry the transmission to a different location (relatively close), due to the fact that some of the locations do not have line of sight to the antennas. We are using Encore routers, model # ENHWI-N3. When we connect the radio's Ethernet into the routers WAN reciever, we can connect to the Internet with a computer. The problem exists is we want to pass that connection over to a second router (R2). This connection is done when the routers are on access points set to a WDS function with R1 having R2's mac address and vice versa. Both routers are set to channel 1. Even when the routers are seperated by distances >50m a computer plugged into R2 can see a computer plugged into R1. Files can be transferred between the 2 computers wirelessly at speed around 3 mbps. However computer 2 on R2 can not connect to the WWW. This router features a spot that lights up if it has Internet access and R1's is lit up but R2's is not. How do we transfer the Internet and not just a LAN from R1 to R2 so it can be accessed further away from the point of the radio and antenna equipment. This setup has also been used where R2 is hardwired to R3. At R3 we change the channel to 11, and then connect through that with mac addresses wirelessly to 4th router. If comp is in R4 and far away it can still access and file share from comp at R1.*edit the ip address for the routers exist all on 192.168.1.xxx If the 3rd number is different between routers would this make a difference?
