Convert Belkin (F5d7234-4) Router Into Wireless Receiver?
Nov 12, 2011
I have a Belkin f5d7234-4 lying around at home. I also have a Panasonic TV which requires a proprietary wifi donge to get a wireless signal, so my question is, can I use the router to recieve my house Wifi (broadcast by my new NetGear Router) and send it out through its Ethernet port to the TV?
I checked, the router doesn't have ddwrt support, I'm new to hacking around with routers and networks, so I don't know how to do this, I see how it is logically possible
I'm looking to purchase one because it's one of the only two Belkin models that supports WDS. The Belkin website however, says that the F5D7234 version 1router supports it. It doesn't have the -4 at the end. The one available to buy does have the -4 at the end of the model number, but it also doesn't say what version it is. Is there more than one version of this model?
I've been trying to port forward my modem and router for Xbox 360 live. Only problem is, I know absolutely nothing about networking or configuring modem / router settings.Anyhow, I was told to put my modem into Bridged Ethernet mode. I tried, then I couldn't even connect to the internet anymore.my router model is a Belkin F5D7234-4 V5. My modem is a Motorola 2210-02-1006.
I bought a Canon Pixma mg3220 all in one printer/scanner today. I specifically picked it for the Airprint feature for my IPhone, which I can't get to work. Is it a problem with my F5D7234-4 v5 router? I have updated the firmware and it still won't print. The Iphone sees the printer, but that's as far as I get.
we just got a computer with windows 8 and can't get it to hook up wirelessly. it recognizes the network but will not connect to the internet wirelessly.
I'm having a problem connecting with wireless card model number f9L1101v1 to a router model number F5D7234-4. the computer is dell dimensions 4400 desktop pc running windows xp, everything seems to be working correctly. i can see my wireless connection, signal strength is full, but when i enter the network key which i have confirmed is correct it will not connect. it goes to the window where it shows it trying to connect but after about 2 minutes the window disappears with no explanation for connection failure.the network key was confirmed through a laptop that runs on the same router.
I am moving my wireles router to a new computer (Belkin F5D7234-4V5Do i need software for it to work on my new computer and if so can I get it online.I can't find a software disc.
I just switched from an AT&T T1 ISP to Comcast cable, which supplies a motorola modem, pushing 5MBPS downstream. This modem is not recognized by the router, a Belkin wireless G model, F5D7234-4 V5. After numerous attempts to restart both the modem and the router, the modem light does not turn on, nor is a wireless connection recognized by my computer, a new Macbook Pro. The router worked fine with the AT&T connection.

I want to use a D-link WB-2310 wireless router to receive a wireless signal. Downstairs, connected to a cable modem (11MBPS), is an intel iMac running 10.4 that can send out its own wifi signal (internet sharing). Upstairs will be a PowerPC G5 Mac running 10.5 that has no wireless card...I was hoping I could use the router in place of a wireless adapter.
I have an ADSL router like the one showed below & internet from the provider via a RJ45 cable.
I need to share the incoming internet from the RJ45 cable to the remaining three RJ45s & over the wireless. How to configure the router to get this working?
Also the internet provider needs me to authenticate via their default webpage before I can access the internet & I can say it doesn't have any MAC binding.
How do I convert my wireless router to a wireless AP (Access Point)? While connected to the main router go Start then Run in XP - (Windows key plus R in Vista and Windows 7), then type in the following, including all the spaces:- cmd /k ipconfig /all -- then press Enter and from the black form that shows up, take a note of the numeric code beside the word "gateway" -- usually something like 192.168.0.1. Type exit to close the black form. Now connect the router to be converted only to a computer via network cable and log in Setup the wireless security Disable the DHCP and change the LAN IP to match the gateway IP but ending in something like .253 Finally connect one of the four LAN ports of the AP to the main router, do NOT use the WAN port.
We have a couple of smaller remote locations running cisco 1811W routers (built in switch ports & wireless). Now I have been tasked with determining if the wireless portion can be converted to Lightweight or not; if so what is required.
I have a Class HD 9000x 2USB TV receiver. It comes with a wireless connection. I am not able to connect it to my wireless router. When I try to connect it to the wireless router it says "No Wireless device" Although all other wireless devices (Labtop, Mobile) are working fine. I think there are steps to activate the network connection on the receiver.
Just picked up the Yamaha rx-v867 receiver a few weeks ago. It has an ethernet port so that it can do internet radio (Pandora, etc). Not close enough to the router to go wired. I am getting an old 802.11b router from a family member today. Can I use this as a bridge to send music over the wireless network to the receiver? What steps to successfully setup?
Usually I set up wireless networks with laptops or pc's with wireless cards.
I just switched over from AT&T Uverse to time Warner cable for Internet. I bought a Motorola Surfboard sbg6580. I have the surfboard hooked up and all is well. Now I would like to do in put the old 2wire from AT&T in a room upstairs and use it as place I can plug in the Ethernet cords and also transmit another signal. I have what's a called plug link that is plugged in down stairs and then another upstairs and it allows the Internet signal to run through the power lines. So it just about the equivalent of running a cord for down stairs to upstairs. So basically I just need to plug more then 1 thing upstairs that isn't wireless and I would also like to transmit a 2.4ghz signal upstairs and use my Motorola to transmit a 5ghz.How would I set up the 2wire to do this.
I'm trying to configure an snmp notification reciever on WCS 7.0, so that critical alarms get reported to our central console. Following the configuration guide I was able to add the reciever as northbound, but after adding it I get an alarm saying that it is unreachable by WCS so all alarm notification will be suspended. I have tested snmp and ping connectivity between the WCS box and the notification reciever and it works ok, is there some other traffic that I might be missing?. I've seen some packets going from the WCS box to TCP port 7 on the reciever, which as far as I know is the echo service, is that what WCS uses to test connectivity?
