View 9 RepliesI have had the Asus working with a netgear CVG824G(in unison, not bridged) for some time with IP cam & usb media, but no DNS access as running through the netgear gateway. I just upgraded to Optus premium speed pack & received a netgear CG3000 & now can't find the Asus when plugged into CG3000 ethernet port. I have tried to plug it in the same as it was so I could access the asus routers page & change settings to bridge but find nothing. When I try to connect wirelessly to it, the security key is not accepted. Have tried original key and '�dmin'' all with no use. I want it to run bridged to make use of the DNS service with IP cam & attached media

Our router and modem is upstairs and we have a 20 mb/s connection, but I just ran a speedtest from my room and it shows me that my connection is only at 2.47 mb/s, which is really weird. The router is nearly just above my head on the floor above me, so I can't see the problem.

I am using a powerline adapter kit to stream to a Boxee Box another media streamer. Most of my streaming is from the internet but, I occasionally will download something and then stream it from my HDD to one of my media streamers. View 4 Replies View RelatedMy 7 month old Netgear wireless router suddenly stopped working
The router's power light will not remain on after powering it up. The only lights that remain on after power-up are the (4) "LAN Port" lights (solid green) and the "Internet" light (solid amber).
The owner's manual states that it's a hardware problem if the power light does not remain on and to call tech support. The tech I spoke too said it's a settings issue that they deal with everyday and not a hardware problem.
One of the things I've tried was using a paper clip to reset the router to it's factory settings. It didn't change anything though. Re-running the setup CD didn't yield any results either. It just stopped in the middle because it said there was no ethernet cable connecting the laptop to the router, even though there was.
By the way... My ISP is Century Link and I use an Actiontec DSL Modem.
Not sure how to modify the router's settings if the network is down.
How do I personalize the settings on my router from default. Netgear wnr2000.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running windows 7 which has recently been updated from Vista. other computers on the wifi network are running vista. I have a net gear CG3000 IStaus router/cable modem attached to one of the other computers on the network. My network adapter is TP-Link.My firewall is commodore and my virus software is avast (both free versions). My SP is Optus. When I first installed windows 7 everything was working fine . In the last few weeks when I login to my computer, I can attach to the other computers but I have no internet connection. When I go into manage wireless networks it says I am connected to an unidentified network which has no Internet connection. I have tried deleting this network from " manage wireless networks", moving it down in this list, making it a manual connection. I have uninstalled the network adapter and reinstalled it and other ideas picked up from the web. Nothing seems to work. Sometimes I will get a quick window where it will work but then it disconnects again and the unidentified network is back. Not today though so am typing this on my IPad. I can't download or install XIRUS WIFI for obvious reasons.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHave just had a stab at using my Netgear DGND3700's USB drive sharing - I had a spare external HDD + I want to be able to access files on it both over the 'net and from local network. Both work fine, very easy to set up, however I am unable to edit settings for the shared folder, which means I am unable to password protect it.
I don't need a password for local sharing but obviously it isn't ideal to have files freely available on the Internet, have looked into troubleshooting but can't find any similar stories with Netgears.I click "edit" or "create network folder" and it loads for a second or two but just stays on the same page. There is only one option to select but I have tried clicking the radio button first anyway, then clicking edit, same result.

With Avanti, I could access my Buffalo routers settings by just typing in the routers ip.But, now with the new BT Hub we got, whenever I type in ipconfig to cmd, the gateway address is the address to access the settings of the hub. I tried the old bufallo ip but it is not working. I think this is because the hub is a router aswell. Is there anyway I can access the routers settings?

After uninstalling the HotSpot, I am unable to change TCP/IP and DNS servers settings. My network adaptor is set up to default (automatically obtain ip address). Suddenly, GameSpy Arcade just won't connect anymore, and i also noticed that almost everything related to GameSpy is blocked in my entire network. The only GameSpy site i can connect is gamespy.com, but GameSpy forums and gamespyarcade.com are blocked. I haven't changed any network settings, and i've tried to connect without firewall and without avast antivirus, but it just won't work. The only way i can get to those sites is through a proxy, i think that means that THEY are blocking me, and not my own network, right?
