I have a dlink dap-1360 which my computer technician installed for me earlier this year. i would now like to edit the details such as network name etc.how do i get to the settings page of my router.
View 1 RepliesI am having a problem accessing my router settings page. everything was working fine and then all of a sudden my desktop couldn't get internet but all the laptops could so I tried everything power cycling the everything changing the Ethernet cable and I got nothing. So then I hard reset my router and erased all the settings and now it works so I have internet just fine and right away after I hard reset I could access my router settings page and input all of my settings like DNS servers and port forwarding and changing my SSID etc. but now every time I try and go to it it just won't I don't even get the login prompt nothing. So why I can't access this page. Here is a copy of my ipconfig /all. Also when I ping 192.168.0.1 I have no packet loss.
Edit:I have gotten it to work in IE I have to go to HTTPS://192.168.0.1 and then click go to site anyways after it gives me a warning about the certificate being invalid and I have to allow it or whatever otherwise it won't bring up the login prompt. Also the same thing is happening for FF so I need to go to https://192.168.0.1 and click I understand the risks and add exception for it to work.

Have a PS3 that will connect to my wrt120n if I unplug the modem and router then plug back in after 2 minutes. if I shut off my PS3 or after approx 1 hour, PS3 drops my connection. I'm trying to access my router page online but after entering the default into my browser, the pop up box will not accept any combo of entries to allow me access. I have an SSID name and my router is password protected. It does not connect me when I use any combo of user name or password or the default "admin".

Basically, the Javascript chokes on any computer name that you enter that has an apostrophe in it. As a result, I don't have access to add or edit any settings on that page. Seems like a major rookie mistake, especially for a major network device manufacture.
When I try to go to192.168.1.1 it says connection interrupted. If i use the Cisco Connect it tells me i am not connected to the internet. My pc is connected via ethernet cable. My son can pull it up on is laptop and is connect the our Linksys E3000 wirelessly. I can go online, I just cant get to the router.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an RV042 which is being used as an interface to an ISP.The WAN address (public) is obtained via PPPoE.The LAN address (also public) is entered manually from an assigned block of public addresses. This is the internet gateway for other publicly-addresses devices like firewalls, VPN devices, etc.
I have an RV042 to play with as will as one in production that I can access.Because the accesses are both through public addresses, I want to use https to access the device. I've generated a number of questions as I'm not sure the behavior is understandable to me and maybe the behavior isn't even consistent.
- If the firewall is Disabled, the https setting is still available. So, presumably https will work with the firewall enabled or disabled? Is that right?
- I take it that the Remote Management setting and port number are associated with the WAN port. For example, can one set Remote Management ON with port 443 and still access via the LAN on port 80? on port 443?
- If Remote Mangement is OFF then I presume that one cannot access the device through the WAN. Yet, that seems to not be the case. I wonder if the public addresses on this device affect this?
Well, I guess we might forget about the Port number and just ponder the following - Sort of a truth table:

I'm moving from an 1801W to an SRP547.My adsl supplier (BT) has given me a username and password, and also a router IP address, a subnet and an gateway IP address. I have 13 fixed IP addresses. I don't speak cisco, so I'm using the built in interface to configure it.If i choose IPoA I can enter the IP settings. If I choose PPPoA I can enter the username and password.I do not see anyway I can enter both the IP settings and the username + password on the WAN configuration page.

The router SAYS Gigaset SE567 on it, and looks identical to the one in the picture...so theres no mistaking it for another router.
We already have wired network and some access points. Today one addition wireless access point (wireless router) is purchased. I'm confused how to start off though I know to configure after I read some articles(disable DHCP, and give lan ip) . In the router, it is written 192.168.1.1, id : admin, pass : admin. View 6 Replies View RelatedIt usually consists of installing routers in units. Occasionally I have to change the routers IP address to keep it from conflicting with other routers. To do so, I need to get to the router options to do that. Normally, typing in 192.168.0.1 gets me there with no problems. Sometimes it's a 10.0.10.1. (They have D-Link DIR-615 routers.) To make sure I know which address I need, I use the cmd and ipconfig /all. Some of the routers spit out an IPV6 address instead of the IPV4 that I need to access the router. Even after a factory reset, it still does this. I can't get in to change anything.

They say that it should be working, make a restart and that's it. I did that but still no connection. Moreover, I cannot connect through the router at all and therefore cannot access router admin page to configure it either. Now what to do? Password for the router is correct. The router will not allow me to access the router page, ( I called them and walked them through it). I reset the linksys router, by holding the reset button in for 45 seconds. Then I access the router page by going to 192.268.1.1 Windows gives me a popup to log in, What I find on the internet for a default login is the user name is blank and the password is admin. OR the both the user name and password is admin. However it still will not let me into the router page.
I am wondering if the login popup is something with the windows settings. As when I had the router here at my house, I think It just went to the webpage of the router and thats where it asked me for the user name and password. I do not recall the popup login window before the router page. Is there something to turn off to set it so that windows does not give a popup to login and goes to the webpage to login?

When I type in the IP adress into my IE adress bar (192.168.1.1), it says it cannot connect to the internet.
I checked if all cables are correct alot of times, and reset it a ton of times, but no luck.
I have a D-Link dsl 2640u, it's a modem but since it has 4 ports im assuming it's also a router. My problem is that when i enter my ip address into the address bar it doesn't recognize it. I can't use Utorrent or anything that requires ports to be opened..and it's a pain in the butt. when I type ipconfig on my command prompt it brings up..172.16.X.X and when i enter it into the address bar nothing is found. I'd like to port forward by accessing the modem's config page.I read on another thread that i could set my own ip address by going to: Control Panel>Network and Sharing center> Local Area Network>Properties of Ipv6 and typing my own ip address but when i do this i lose my internet connection.
