Can't Use Xbox 360 And PC Online At The Same Time
Feb 26, 2011I can't use both online for some reason. I also can't get my 360 to work online unless I reset my router, and the IP says something like 24.* whatever in the network settings for the 360. I'm fairly knowledgeable about computers, but I barely know anything about networking so bear with me. I think this started after I removed a cable from my router (a different connection that I didn't need any more), and hit the reset button. I'm not sure what exactly it changed to cause this however. I also tried a router of the exact same model and it didn't work.

Aug 31, 2012I have been using the same wireless setup in my home for over a year. We have a Belkin Surf wireless router and an Arris modem from Comcast, using cable internet from Comcast. In the house, we have 5 devices that are set up to automatically connect wirelessly: iPhone 4, an old iPod touch, a MacBook Pro, a Toshiba laptop, and a Brother printer. Until recently, there has never been a problem with connectivity.
Lately, certain devices have been losing connection. For example, last night my husband and I were both using our laptops with no problems.This morning, his is connected and my iPhone is connected,but my Mac is not (I get a timeout error and am not connected to the internet). Sometimes it's his laptop that drops the connection. Other times it's my son's iPod or my iPhone. It is never all of the devices at once (something is always connected), and each device always recognizes the network as existing yet cannot connect to it.
I have also tried to change the channel that the router is set to, but that has not seemed to solve anything. The firmware is up to date. We are password protected in an area with few neighbors, and there never are any unknown devices connected when I check the client list for the router.

Jun 29, 2011Ciso 1941 router frozen once a day, sometimes after 2 to 7 days. When the router frozen, no internet connection and cannot login/ping ethernet ports. I can login to console port and copy the error messages below. Reload the router and it will return back to normal operation. Re-installed IOS but still the same.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 Can See None Of Devices Attached To Power-line Devices
Aug 15, 2011I have installed my new E4200 and it works beautifully. I have several wirelss adapters and a few wired connections through powerline adapters. I also have a second VPN router attached to the 4200.I can see the wireless connected devices with the associated IP addresses. If I plug a laptop directly into the Cisco, I can of course see it.However, I can see none of the devices attatched to the powerline devices? I have a securty cam connected via the powerline and want to know the IP address. I checked with cisco technical support via chat and they said it is impossible. I have used 2 previous routers with the same configuration and can see all devices.

Jun 1, 2012Currently my home network is being switched via TrendNet TEGs80G unmanaged gig switches. I have been using them for about a year now with no issues. As my home network becomes more advanced, I recently just added a Cisco ASA5505, I am thinking about swapping those unmanaged devices, 4 of them, to managed. I was looking at the Cisco SG300-10 for upstairs, and a 16 port variant for my main core. These devices do not support full Cisco IOS cli, but they are manageable with a rich feature set nonetheless. My question is, should I swap the unmanaged devices with the more expensive Cisco devices, or just keep what works and save the money until I really need to spend it. As previously stated, my home LAN works just fine as it is, however my WiFi, NTV550s, server and workstations are all on the same network. Probably not the most secure but it is what it is without VLAN support.

Oct 11, 2012All of a sudden my laptop, android phone and blu ray player (all wireless devices) can't communicate with my wired devices (marantz receiver and samsung tv). Everything still connects to the internet independently but i can't for instance play music from my wireless laptop to my wired marantz receiver. I had no trouble with this last week and didn't change anything (that I'm aware of) I did get Verizon to switch out my router but it didn't solve anything. My wife's computer also cannot connect to wired devices. Lastly, if I connect my laptop with via ethernet cable it sees wired devices fine. I tried shutting off windows firewall but didn't work. I have no other firewall/virus software installed. I can ping to all devices (wired and wireless) from my laptop.

I have wireless 25mb internet in my house but the router is not in my room it is about 25 meters away in my parents room. Reset/replug everything.Manually set IP address and DNS settings.Using "ipconfig/renew" in command prompt to try and change the IP address.
I've talked to Bright House support about this, but they haven't been any hope. All they said was to contact the manufacturer of my router, but it looks like a discontinued model (some sort of Linksys).
