I have a data card with max. speed of 3.1mbps but i get only abt 1/3rd of it so i was thinking to buy a longer data cable as i saw on some site that the speed increases.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use a Linksys WRT54GR router. I recently bought an iPad, and I generally use it in a room that is on the other side of the house and through many walls. When it works, it works nice. But recently, my signal has been weak, and is often dropped. Pages load slowly, or not at all after getting a could not connect to server or whatever message. However, this isnt a huge problem for my laptops when used in this room. I dont believe it is the iPad that is faulty because my iTouch also experiences difficulty sometimes. I need a way to increase the signal strength for a longer distance. I looked at a repeater, but im not quite sure what it is and how to set one up, or where to buy one.

Recently we had a issue on replication then we stopped about 20 replication. And now issue is fixed, we are started replication. Average replication is 75%, we need to reach it 100% ASAP. But me and my co-worker have little bit different mind about replications are running in same time. I thought there is no difference for total time between one by one and all running in same. But co-worker saying one by one is much quicker.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI run vista home premium through a Netgear DG834PN and use an iPad for surfing, emails etc wirelessly.I live in a 3 bed detached house and the router is running in the office upstairs probably 4 metres away max.The house is substantial being ex MOD.My Internet connection is not the best and at max I get around 1.4meg and often far less so I need to maximise my equipment. My speed dropped to less than 0.5meg this morning and it increased again after changing router channels from 11 to 1 but as my speeds fluctuate this could have been coincidental. although the speeds were very low for around 2 weeks running at less than 0.5meg it increased just prior to referral to Openreach so apparently BT would not accept as fault due to line being within parameters.Finally I was using a router supplied by them direct into the master socket and this was no better than my own, so are there any better routers I could purchase to maximise my speed and wireless connection?

I have a small e6400 machine, 4 gb ram, Win 7 Pro 32, 1gigabit connection, hardwired to the router. This one is hooked up to the TV. I want to stream my movie/tv collection from my gamin PC, which is on the other side of the room to the TV. The gaming machine/server has 4 drives, with a dedicated 1tb drive for video storage. The machine connected to the TV has one 300 gb drive. Right now, I am getting 1.8 mbps transfer speeds. This is causing very choppy playback. I am using VLC for playback. I am using WPA2 for network security.
How can i increase my transfer speeds across the network? Is 1.8mbps as good as it gets?

Set this up last night and it went very easy with the excellent instructions. Transfer rate from computer A to computer B (wired) of a 1 gb file was 12 mb/s and that was from SATA 3 to SATA 3 discs. Using a gigabyte router those values were 55.5 mb/s. Even though this router is only 10/100 that speed is unacceptable. Is there a tip to increase that speed to an expected and reasonable value?Also, the router just quit for no apparent reason and needed a reboot. What are common causes that I might look into to see why this happened.

if I do a dev I get nothing. If I do a dir flash: I get "bad device name". My cookie shows FF in all positions.
If I remove the entire WiFi Radio card (both boards), then It boots fine, cookie appears intact, devs appear, IOS loads, just without the WAP.
Any chance this is a matter of a file getting deleted or corrupted or is this certainly bad hardware? The router sans Wifi appears fully functional.
at my house if i replaced a cat5 cable with a cat6 would i see increased download speeds?

The machine was a clean build on a new disk about 2 months ago and all has been working well (excepting the Fujitsu HDD which seems to be going bad as I type, but that's a different issue!).i was offer via Microsoft Update: "Dell driver update for Dell TrueMobile 1300 WLAN Mini-PCI Card" 2 days ago (mid August 2009). This is a Dell supplied update distributed via MS. Also offered (and installed) at the same time was "Darfon - Other Hardware - Bluetooth Devices". Since installing these (and the installs reporting as completing correctly) I keep getting:Dell Wireless WLAN Card Wireless Network Controller encountered a problem and needed to close.and Dell Wireless WLAN Card Wireless Network Controller has encountered a problem and needs to close.rror dialogues. These pop up every 30 seconds or so and seem to be related to the Dell TrueMobile 1300 update.Looking in the Windows directory there is no uninstall directory for this update unlike the MS updates. So I now either need to:get the updates to work properly Remove the updates and get back to a working condition if you wonder why I applied the updates...why repair something that's already working...I have had Bluetooth sporadic connection issues with this laptop with a BT GPS unit. The same BT GPS unit works perfectly on a D610 but on this D600 after initial connection there can be repeated connection loss requring the BT GPS unit to be moved around, after which BT connection is re-established only to fail a while later. As the same GPS works without problem with the D610 my presumption has been the issue is a BT stack issue on the D600 BT implementation.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor other three years, me and my brother have both been connected to our router via ethernet cables. On this Tuesday just gone, however, my brother took it upon himself to mess with the router whilst I was out. Apparently, his internet had been down since we'd had a power-cut on the Sunday, (My internet was fine, and always has been and was fully functional after said power-cut), and before then, it'd been going really slow, and sometimes cutting out. Okay, no problem. Now, the the thing is, that morning, I was on my internet, all happy, and when I returned home that evening, my PC wouldn't connect. My PC still refuses to connect, three days on. It's not even picking up that there's something plugged in.the router is actually flashing to say that my PC is plugged in and connected to the router. I know that there is nothing wrong with the modem or what have you, as I linked my laptop up to my PC via a cable earlier today to try and get it online. It's not a virus program problem, either. Like I said, it was working Tuesday morning, nine hours later, I come home, my brother restarted/unplugged the router, and now my PC won't connect. I should also note that he's now had to go wireless via a dongle, and everyone else in the house uses wireless laptops. I can't connect my PC to the internet with a dongle
