View 2 Replies View RelatedI run vista home premium through a Netgear DG834PN and use an iPad for surfing, emails etc wirelessly.I live in a 3 bed detached house and the router is running in the office upstairs probably 4 metres away max.The house is substantial being ex MOD.My Internet connection is not the best and at max I get around 1.4meg and often far less so I need to maximise my equipment. My speed dropped to less than 0.5meg this morning and it increased again after changing router channels from 11 to 1 but as my speeds fluctuate this could have been coincidental. although the speeds were very low for around 2 weeks running at less than 0.5meg it increased just prior to referral to Openreach so apparently BT would not accept as fault due to line being within parameters. Finally I was using a router supplied by them direct into the master socket and this was no better than my own, so are there any better routers I could purchase to maximise my speed and wireless connection?

Recently we had a issue on replication then we stopped about 20 replication. And now issue is fixed, we are started replication. Average replication is 75%, we need to reach it 100% ASAP. But me and my co-worker have little bit different mind about replications are running in same time. I thought there is no difference for total time between one by one and all running in same. But co-worker saying one by one is much quicker.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having issues with transfer speed on my network. I have a D-Link DIR-655 wireless N router. Two PC's. My gaming PC is also a server of sorts. E6600, 4 gb of RAM, Wireless N PCI card, Win 7 Pro 64.
I have a small e6400 machine, 4 gb ram, Win 7 Pro 32, 1gigabit connection, hardwired to the router. This one is hooked up to the TV. I want to stream my movie/tv collection from my gamin PC, which is on the other side of the room to the TV. The gaming machine/server has 4 drives, with a dedicated 1tb drive for video storage. The machine connected to the TV has one 300 gb drive. Right now, I am getting 1.8 mbps transfer speeds. This is causing very choppy playback. I am using VLC for playback. I am using WPA2 for network security.
How can i increase my transfer speeds across the network? Is 1.8mbps as good as it gets?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a PC with a Realtek onboard Ethernet controller, running Windows XP. It's connected to an Asus RT-n16 router loaded with TomatoUSB, via a Cat5e cable. When I set it up a month or two ago, I confirmed that I was getting a Gigabit connection to it--the little network connection icon in the Windows XP taskbar indicated "1.0 Gbps." All well and good. I just happened to check it today, and it now says "100Mbps." Nothing, as far as I know, has changed to the configuration. I went into the Device Manager, and saw that under the driver settings, in "Speed", it was set to "Auto-Negotiate." When I tried setting that to "1.0 Gbps" instead, the network connection icon in XP's taskbar once again indicated "1.0Gbps." As an experiment, I then changed it back to Auto-Negotiate, and once again the taskbar icon read "100Mbps."So I guess I have two questions. 1) Should I leave the driver setting on 1Gbps rather than Auto-Negotiate? (2) Why might the speed have switched from 1Gbps to 100Mbps over the past month if nothing's changed?

Set this up last night and it went very easy with the excellent instructions. Transfer rate from computer A to computer B (wired) of a 1 gb file was 12 mb/s and that was from SATA 3 to SATA 3 discs. Using a gigabyte router those values were 55.5 mb/s. Even though this router is only 10/100 that speed is unacceptable. Is there a tip to increase that speed to an expected and reasonable value? Also, the router just quit for no apparent reason and needed a reboot. What are common causes that I might look into to see why this happened.
Can a Cisco 2921 handle a 100mbps connection plus operate BGP with partial updates? I am worried about the CPU.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIt seems that Cisco mentioned, in their data sheet of 2921 ISR, that it can support up to 50Mbps. However, from Google search, it says 2921 can handle 100Mbps with no problem.I am planning on getting 2921 ISR in small office where only ~10 people are connected to it. And we do have two different line of 100Mbps ISP internet line and wish to share them in the office.I am confused why ~$2k router can not support 100Mbps where ~$100 consumer routhers like Linksys has no problem with handling that speed. The reason why I am planning on 2921 is the rich feature like Voip solution (CME) it offeres. I have several remote offices that needs to be connected with Voip phones. and I could go with UC500 series but it seems to me UC500 does not support IP Phone 9900 series.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a simple router recomendation for multihoming dual 100Mbps internet connections with BGP routing. What are the current best practices regarding required resources for the full Internet BGP routing table? We were thinking of specing a 3945 for this application, but is that overkill? The customer has a 2821 that is not in use, I'm thinking this would be too slow for Internet BGP routing combined with the 100Mbps line speed.
