NCS 1.1.1.24 (PRIME-NCS-VAPL)
5508-50 WLC 7.0.235.3
I had to re-IP this WLC onto another management vlan. Prior to the IP change and code upgrade I removed the WLC from NCS.When attempting to re-add the WLC to NCS, I finally found the it in Configure>Unknown Devices. Now NCS is showing the Device Type as Unknown, and Inventory Status Detail as Unsupported device, and reachable.

I have a team onsite this week inspecting us. We found out yesterday that Retina is unable to access several of our switches. Said switches are able to be pinged from workstations on both of our main VLANs, I can SSH to them from any computer which is included in the ACL (and yes, the Retina server is in the ACL). Users can login to and access all network resources without issue. Each switch is configured with a management IP on the same VLAN. I have created a full-permissions user on each switch specifically for scanning use.
All switches are running the same code (12.2(58)se2). I was just able to SSH from one switch to another (with the user account made for the Retina scan), all through the stack of switches experiencing the problem. While doing so, I did a how log | incl <IP of the Retina server>. 90% of the switches had no records for that IP (thus no attempted connections). The few that did have record of it, reflected a connection over 24 hours ago- and we've just tried it several times within the last 6 hours (it was 0300 when I sent this email to coworkers that I'm snipping into this post).

I have a LMS 4.1 and ive enabled Energywise on several switches.I can see them on energywise devices. they are in the same domain and most of them have IP Phones and Access Points.there are 18 IP Phones registered to a CUCM which is seen by the LMS. and ive done a user tracking and ive seen the phones registered.the access points are LAPs and CAPs (1142, 1131, 3500).
when i try to enable the Energywise End Hosts, i cant see any of the end hosts of the switches.however, when i go on CLI, and see the energwise children, i see them all.

We have:
ASR1000-RP2
ASR1000-ESP40
ASR1000-SIP40
SPA-10X1GE-V2
SPA-10X1GE-V2
!
Kiwi Syslog Server
ASR performs the function of ISG. The number of subscribers until 10000. This number is constantly growing. Because of the economic address space subscribers surf the Internet through NAT.
Now the task to keep logs of all translations or binds. Need to store the information about what time, certain internal IP address using the external IP.
I've tried:
!
ip nat log translations syslog
!
logging trap debugging
logging host xx.xx.xx.xx transport UDP port xxx
no logging console (so as not to load the CPU)
!
Error stopped publishing but logs do not come. I think of the huge number of translation per second, it can not send them as fast. How can this problem be solved or otherwise obtain and store information about a translations?

I'm trying to configure and DMVPN architecture with two routers ASR1006 to server a bank remote offices, one ASR in CO building and the other in CA building (CO: Operational Center; CA: Recovery Center). Each ASR have two LAN connections to internal network and two WAN links to remote office. Each WAN links belongs to differents provider. Each remote office has a router with two WAN links connected to that WAN providers. We are configuring the DMVPN considering two primary tunnels in the CO building and two failover tunnels in CA building. We made the configuration (schemas and configuration attached) but we only get two tunnels up at a time. We cannot ping from office router to four tunnels interfaces in both hubs.
We made some test disabling some tunnels and we could get communication only with two tunnels interfaces. We got communication through tunnels when we have just two.We want to have the four tunnels for high availability. We would like to know how to troubleshoot and make a design review because the examples and documentations are very limited.

why I would see packet loss when BGP comes back up.We have 2 ASR1006's both running full tables of BGP to the same upstream ISP. We load balance the 2 links to them. the ASR's have an OSPF connection between them. When one pipe goes down we see not packet loss; however, when that pipe comes back up we see packet loss until the BGP table fully loads in that router again.

I want to do something with IP SLA and started by estabilishing a baseline.
I'm trying to check history on an ASR. I tested same config on a 3845 and was forgetting the "history filter all". After this I could see history table on 3845 but still history is empty on the ASR1006. The operation started because I can see information with "show ip sla statistics".
know if i missed something or maybe this is not supported in ASR1006?

For example:
I have two switches connected with two ethernet cables together. Why I will use link aggregation on trunk ports (without load balancing) when STP will do same service?

We want a solution for routing between N5K and VSS with aggregated WAN links.
DC1: It has 2 cisco 6509 with VSS. There are 4 server farm cisco4948 switches connected with VSS with redundant uplink via MEC. Server gateway is the VSS. VSS is running Eigrp routing.
DC2: This is a new datacenter we are going to establish soon. We are planning 2 N5K at core layer with L3 daughter card and 4 N2K as server farm switch. 2 N5K will have vPC peer between them. Each 4 N2K will connect with redundant uplink via vPC with this N5K. N5K will run Eigrp routing and will be the gateway of this new DC server.
WAN between DC1 & DC2: DC1 VSS will connect with DC 2XN5K with 2X10G links. we want to do MEC at VSS side and L3 vPC at DC2 side. If we have VSS at both end it might not be a problem. Both the link will work together as 20G aggregated link. But as we are using N5K at one end, so it creates a confusion whether it will work properly is this scenerio or not. Also I would like to know,
1) In VSS I have configured 1 VLAN interface for server gateway. But in N5K do I have to configure at 2 switch seperately?
2) In WAN routing VSS shows as 1 device. Does this 2 N5K will show as 2 seperate hops or L3 vPC will allow them to act as a single device while traceroute from one end to another end.

I'm trying to setup Link Aggregation on this switch for an HP server with a 4-port NIC which is teamed. I create the LAG and see in the HP Network Utility where each port in the team disconnects then reconnects and the server has internet access, but workstations cannot access the server (can't browse UNC, RDP, ping, etc.) and vice versa. This is the only switch at the site, all the workstations are plugged into it. Rebooting the switch after creating the group didn't have any effect.

When trying to configure ERSPAN on a ASR1006, I'm not getting any traffic on the destination port. ERSPAN flavour is LOCAL SPAN, as described in:
[URL]
Configuration used, is the following:
monitor session 1 type erspan-source
no shut
source interface GigabitEthernet0/0/2
destination
erspan-id 10
ip address 10.10.10.1
[code].....
Apparently everything is configured in the proper way, however I’m not getting any traffic in the destination port. Also I’ve noticed the following in the details from ‘Session 1’:
Destination IP Address : 10.10.10.1
how to configure Local SPAN using ERSPAN?

I am trying to setup a home network where I have multiple low bandwidth or rather lower bandwidth links coming in. They are suppose to be broadband but I do feel the need for a fatter pipe. Since this is in India and we have limited availability of bandwidth options like here in the US I thought if I could double or even get close to doubling my bandwidth using some sort of device for link aggregation or a network / pc setup which can achieve thisThe links I am getting are above 1mbps, possibly even 2mpbs and its relatively cheap, 100$/yr so I can add 3-4 to get desired results. A dedicated 10mbps connection costs nearly 12000$/yr so I have a lot of margin to create a substantial pipe without the cost if what I am thinking is possible.

There is an ASR1006 Router in the network that serves as an Intelligent Service Gateway (ISG). Subscribers are layer 2 connected and subscriber sessions are initiated on a DHCP request. ISG is configured as a DHCP relay agent. Wi-Fi clients connect to the WLAN using Open SSID and are being redirected to a Web Portal where they enter their login info. This info is sent to RADIUS server which checks if the user is allowed to use Internet service. All the APs are connected o WLC using CAPWAP. The question is the following: there is a requirement to track from which AP a particular Wi-Fi clients is connected. In this case ISG needs somehow to obtain AP’s mac address and send it to the Radius server (probably using attribute 30 – Called-station-id). One possible way for ISG to obtain AP’s mac is via WLC. But the thing is that when WLC is configured as DHCP proxy and Option 82 is set, a wireless client does not obtain IP address via DHCP. In this particular case there two DHCP relay/proxy in the network path between client and DHCP server. Is there any other away for ISG to obtain AP’s mac address?

I've been having some issues lately where if I am copying large amounts of files two and from my NAS and thus saturating my gigabit ethernet, web browsing and internet streaming slows down which is a bit of a bummer. I figured I might fix this with link aggregation.
My switches (Procurve 1810G-24 in basement and 1810G-8 in office) both support 802.3ad Link Aggregation. It works beautifully to connect them together, as well as to connect my FreeNAS box to the switch as well.
how do I set it up to work with my Windows 7 box?
I can't find the options for 802.3ad in the windows menus anywhere, and googling has not led me to the answer yet...
My motherboard has two on board Intel gigabit ports (Intel 82574L and Intel 82579V). Is it possible to link these two, or do I need to pick up another Intel PRO PT dual port copper gigabit NIC like I have two of in my server?

Having issues waking NAS devices using a magic packet when using link aggregation on an SG300-28 switch.
Without link aggregation everything works fine so I know the magic packet is being generated correctly and the NAS device is correctly configured to wake. After configuring link aggregation the device does not wake. Have tried dynamic (LACP) and static link aggregation but neither allowed the device to wake? When the NAS is powered off, the ports in the LAG still show as being connected at 100M but it appears the magic packet is not being transmitted.

I am looking after a mixed collection of Cisco and HP switches and use a Perl script to extract configuration data.I use the ifStackStatus table (OID: 1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.2.1.3) from RFC1573 to sucesfully obtain the EtherChannel data from the Cisco switches but, though I do obtain data from the same table from the Procurve switches it seems to bear no resemblance to Link Agregation. I could look at other tables and may have to - but would like to use this one in order to simplify the code.

answer regarding stacking the SGE2010 switches versus link aggregation if greater than 1 Gb connectivity is required between individual switches? Currently have several switches in a stack configuration but would like to increase the bandwidth between some or all of the switches. Does stacking support a link aggregation configuration? If so what ports can be used and how should the link aggregation be configured in conjunction with the stacking?
