View 10 RepliesI just got PI1.3, I'm new with it, and I don't know how to add devices. I have an 4500-X, an 3850 and 12 pcs. 2960S.
I see that are some out-of-the-box templates, but when i try to deploy, for example "medianet perfom" in Devices box I got "no data available"
What I have to configure on switches?
Currently my home network is being switched via TrendNet TEGs80G unmanaged gig switches. I have been using them for about a year now with no issues. As my home network becomes more advanced, I recently just added a Cisco ASA5505, I am thinking about swapping those unmanaged devices, 4 of them, to managed. I was looking at the Cisco SG300-10 for upstairs, and a 16 port variant for my main core. These devices do not support full Cisco IOS cli, but they are manageable with a rich feature set nonetheless. My question is, should I swap the unmanaged devices with the more expensive Cisco devices, or just keep what works and save the money until I really need to spend it. As previously stated, my home LAN works just fine as it is, however my WiFi, NTV550s, server and workstations are all on the same network. Probably not the most secure but it is what it is without VLAN support.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have installed my new E4200 and it works beautifully. I have several wirelss adapters and a few wired connections through powerline adapters. I also have a second VPN router attached to the 4200.I can see the wireless connected devices with the associated IP addresses. If I plug a laptop directly into the Cisco, I can of course see it.However, I can see none of the devices attatched to the powerline devices? I have a securty cam connected via the powerline and want to know the IP address. I checked with cisco technical support via chat and they said it is impossible. I have used 2 previous routers with the same configuration and can see all devices.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden my laptop, android phone and blu ray player (all wireless devices) can't communicate with my wired devices (marantz receiver and samsung tv). Everything still connects to the internet independently but i can't for instance play music from my wireless laptop to my wired marantz receiver. I had no trouble with this last week and didn't change anything (that I'm aware of) I did get Verizon to switch out my router but it didn't solve anything. My wife's computer also cannot connect to wired devices. Lastly, if I connect my laptop with via ethernet cable it sees wired devices fine. I tried shutting off windows firewall but didn't work. I have no other firewall/virus software installed. I can ping to all devices (wired and wireless) from my laptop.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an 1801w connected to ATT/Bellsouth FastAccess via its DSL port. The LAN connection is through FastEthernet1 trunked to an Extreme Networks Summit 450e. My 1801w configuration is attached and everything is working great.
My problem: DSL bandwidth is unfortunately limited to 3mbps/384kpbs in my area, so I'm considering adding a second DSL line and aggregating bandwidth (load balancing) between two.
1) Can this be acheived using the 1801w, perhaps by adding an external modem for the second DSL connection feeding the 1801's FastEthernet0 port?
2) If yes, then might anyone have a specific modem recommendation? If no, then what other equipment would I need?
3) Most importantly, what 1801 configurations changes required? (I expect my goal would be to equally share the WAN links between all connected VLANs/networks, but if necessary I suppose a workable alternative might be to dedicate a new VLAN/network (e.g., "office") to the new WAN link.
I've added a number of switches to NCS and some of the switches had the wrong snmp communities, etc so weren't added as switches but instead were put under unknown devices.
I've corrected the information for each unknown device and am now seeing the following inventory status:1951799867 (IP: 10.243.26.22) will not have its features collected due to , device SPT_ONLY
They're still unknown devices and there seems to be no way to get them to show up as switches.I've tried to remove these devices but without success (despite a message appearing below the devices I tried to remove saying "Selected device(s) removed successfully.")
I have E1 interface that supports 2Mbps and i need to connect Point to Point , my question is can i add 2 more E1 interface on my cisco router and configure it using channels on that link so i can increase my bandwidth up to 6Mbps.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from WCS 7 to Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.3 (1.3.0.20). I've successfully added my 5508 WLC, 7204 router, 4506 Switch and several other devices. The one problem I have not figured out is how to add my 50 + AIR-LAP1142N-A-K9 to Prime. I can see under Home > General > Overview that I have AP availability of: 53 but when I go to Device Group > ... > Unified AP > Cisco 1140 Series Unified Access Points there are no devices listed. I've tried to manually add them but they fail.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSeems that all solutions are null and void for us because we are not using SNMP v3 or H.
We are using SNMP v2, We have upgraded our WCS to latest version as well as the controllers. I have 6 controllers currently added although they are on WiSM blades.
We are unable to add the 5508 Controllers, we keep recieving this error -
No response from device, check SNMP communities, version or network for issues.
I have confirmed all connectivity is working, even with a debug on the controller you can see it sending SNMP packets to the WCS, although still same error.
We have a Cisco 1941 Router with two single HWIC cards supporting two T1 lines 3Mbps total bandwidth. We have a distance learning lab that takes atleast 2mb connection when in use so it realy kills our bandwidth. I was looking to possible add a thrid T1.
My question: Can I just buy a double wide HWIC card and replace the single port one. Would this require re-configuration or it's simply plug n play?
What other options can I try for more bandwidth instead of adding thrid T1.
How could I add an AP 1522 ag without DHCP. How do I setup the IP address configuration? For some electrical problem I lost 4 1522 APs. I have two controllers and a windows server running WCS. Now I have just one AP up and running. After booting a new AP I could not get in "config mode" via console so I tryied to setup the IP config as follows (pressing ESC key during the boot):
set IP_ADDR 10.1.1.100
set NETMASK 255.255.255.0
set DEFAULT_ROUTER 10.1.1.1.1
then: "boot"
*** I have authorized the new AP in "MAC address filtering" via WCS.
*WCS version 7.0.164.0
I think that is no request reaching the controllers.
I have a SG-300-52 port switch configured Layer 3 with mutiple VLANs. I have run out of ports. What is the best way (or easiest) to bring up a second SG-300-52 port switch with the same VLAN configuration?

Not a lot of clear documentation about this and I'm not sure what to try next.
I have fresh installed the LMS 3.2.1 without any errors. Then I am adding device in CS, give it correct credentials. Its appears in RME automatically, but it always remain in Pending devices in RME.
I have run a job in RME to check the devices credentials and it's appearing that credentials for snmp are wrong but ssh/ telnet appears as "did not try". Although I have added the correct credentials in CS for device, but it appearing as wrong in RME.
Also when I add device in CS, it's not automatically picking it's device type, until in CS I define its device type manually.
I'm a newb at this stuff and hope someone will take pity on me and point me in the right direction? In a nutshell, we run a SBS2008 server at work with 20 users. Our company has a domain name which, via DNS hosting is pointed to our static IP. Email address's are handled via the server using Exchange 2007. Documents and files are stored on a data drive on the server (lets call it Server 1). We have now setup a second business with a different domain. I now have 10 users who will need access to the files on Server 1, but will run under a different domain (and need different email addresses) and need to have access to files stored on Server 1 and the new Server 2. The current setup is simple. ADSL comes into the server room and goes to a modem/wireless. From there it goes to the server which handles the DHCP. The server is in turn connected to a 24 port switch which then feeds the workstationsI have access to purchase another server and whatever hardware is required. No amount of Googling matches my scenario hence my question. What I'm really after is a mudmap showing setup or the right way to set this up

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased a PS3 and would like to add it to my network. I currently have router in an upstairs room and it is linked to my PC in the basement using an ethernet cable. My new PS3 will also go in the basement. Question: as there is only the single cable going to the basement could I link the PS3 using a hub? I have a small Netgear hub left over from years ago would this work? If I did use the hub would I get full speed on the PC or PS3 as long as one or the other was switched off or would I always get half speed regardless?

This client now needs to add more usernames to the VPN on the router side, and I've both searched here, and googled for how to add users to the VPN on the router, the only thing that comes up is adding clients (from the client end PC), and nothing to show how to create the users on the CLI from ssh on the router itself.

Is there a well-known bug with the IOS version?
This would be the first time I will be working on NCS for a client. There is completely a new install and I was just doing my reading to get my head around the overall working of the product. I had a small Q in mind which I wanted to ask here, while going the config guide, i could not find the way to add a router to the NCS prime. W have ASR 1001 in use along with switches. I read in some forum that NCS supported routers but couldnt find the way in the config guide unless i am missing somewhere. The NCS version is 1.0
View 6 Replies View Relatedwhat the intention behind adding SSH to the SG200 series switches was. Is it to allow SCP copies to and from the switch for configuration and firmware updates OR is it to allow CLI access to the switches.
I have tried to SSH to the switch using PuTTY from Windows and native SSH from Linux/Unix clients, but nothing happens.
Is there some other area of configuration to enable communcation via SSH?
I have just installed an SRP 527w and it's basic operation is working fine. However, the ISP has allocated (and set up routing for) a range of 16 additional static addresses to the link that I now wish to configure and use, but I am having problems. Details are as follows (ip addresses are fictitious): [code]Extra ip range Netmask: 255.255.255.240From what I understand, these are added as subinterfaces which are bridged off the main WAN interface. However, when I try to add a subinterface by specifying (say) I get an error when saving : [code] The error states "IP Address and Gateway cannot be the same as the netmask".
