I have a Cisco 2811 router with c2800nm-adventerprisek9_sna-mz.124-2.T6.bin as IOS and i wsh to install this HWIC 4port to increase available ports on my router. Wish to know if this is going to work, that is, if i installed it the IOS available will recognise this card
I have a 2811 router runnning IOS 12.4(21) and have added an HWIC 1FE card to slot 2. But the card doesnot show up in the router and all the three lights on the HWIC card is steady green. I have gone through some cisco documentation and found that i have to upgrade the IOS.
I have few questions before doing the upgrade.
1. Which IOS version should I upgrade to?
2. Will this erase my exisitng running configuration ? I have VPN services, PPPoATM, PBR etc.. all running on this router at present.
3. Presently i have a 128 MB CF card on the router. Will this be enough or do i need to upgrade this card also? Can i choose an IOS which will fit into this card otherwise while keeping all existng features?
4. I want to use the HWIC card for the ISP's internet service through PPPoE. Will this be possible with the upgraded IOS ?
I am trying to configure a newly installed HWIC-4ESW on a 2811 router to bridge to the FE 0/0 interface. Currently, I have a cheap switch connected to FE 0/0 which in turn connects to all the phones, however now I just want to connect all the phones to the HWIC and have it internally bridge to FE0/0 for the connectivity to CME, etc.
I'm trying to learn a little about Cisco router setup, since I'm fairly well versed in configuration. I have an 1841 w/ K9 that I'd like to set up as a WAN Router to hot swap if one of ours goes down. I installed a VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1 MultiFlex card in Slot 1 of the router.
Currently, if I run a "show diag", the VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1 shows up in Slot 1 but in the configuration I can't see it or configure it. Am I missing an enable or something? I thought I had to declare card type but I can only do that on the existing card, the router doesn't seem to recognize that the card is there in any place other than "show diag".
I would like to ask if a cisco 2811 running on an ios c2800nm-adventerprisek9-mz.124-25a.bin should be able to make an HWIC-1FE card work? I am also not detecting the card on any show commands. Plus i am seeing that all the LEDs (FDX/COL,100 and LINK/ACT) are lit steadily even though there is no cable attached to it, is it safe to say that the card could be defective?
i am currently trying to configure a four port ISDN BRI interface on a Cisco 2811 router.Upon upgrading to a later version of IOS, c2800nm-advipservicesk9-mz.124-25d.bin, access to the HWIC-4B-S/T module is lost, the router no longer detects it. In fact iI can only get the router to detect the module using the original IOS version c2800nm-advipservicesk9-mz.124-20.YA3.bin.
Is there some special feature needed in the IOS code to support these modules, if so what would be a suitable version/train to upgrade to?I have tried using the Cisco Software advisor tool but it generates an error when searching on a hardware configuration containing this module type.
The reason for upgrading the code is we have a potential bug with the current version which appears to be preventing the BRI interface syncing up with the providers switch (switch type correctly defined and provider confirms isdn line has been provisioned correctly).
The debug error seen is:
GMT: ISDN BR0/0/0 SERROR: L2_Go: at bailout DLCB is NULL L2: sapi 63 tei 127 ces 0 ev 0x650
My main question though is why the module is not being detected after a code upgrade and if there is a specific code version/train needed to support this module in a 2811?
I am adding another ISP (and plan to use BGP). I am looking at having two 2811's with one connected to each ISP, or a single 2811 (with an additional HWIC) connected to both ISPs. I am not sure if there is a best practices or an ideal configuration for this.
Currently I have:
ASA5510 ---> 2811 ---> ISP_A
Should I purchase another 2811 for ISP_B and connect it to an available port on the ASA? Or should I just purchase a HWIC-1FE and add ISP_B to the existing router?
I see some advantages to both, but not sure the best way to go. Of course, I could be looking at this wrong and if I plan on buying another router then maybe I should use HSRP and both routers should connect to both ISPs.
I have a module of HWIC-4ESW installed into Cisco 2811 router where 3 WAN link is terminited. Suddently WAN links stopped working from last night. I have performed shutdown and no shutdown in the interface but still the the WAN link was not working. After performing a reboot the WAN link started working. No error logs were generated while the WAN link was down.
I currently have a Cisco 2621 powering a network at our co-location facility... It's a simple setup and is working well. The colo provides a redundant HSRP uplink, so I have their two uplinks going into a Dell switch. From that Dell switch I have a uplink into FastEthernet0/0 on the 2621, configured with my routing network, and then FastEthernet0/1 gets an address from my block of routable IP. FastEthernet0/1 then plugs into another Dell switch where I have all my servers connected. The servers get public routable IP addresses and use the address on FastEthernet0/1 as their default gateway.
It's time to upgrade off the 2621, so I aquired a Cisco 2811 which has two FE interfaces, as well as a modular HWIC-4ESW switch. My question is, can I get rid of the Dell Switch A in the setup above and just use the internal switch on the 2811 to accomplish the same thing? And I if I did this, would my two uplinks from the colo plug into ports 1 and 2 of that HWIC, and then port 3 would physically connect into FE 0/0? Or can I logically do that via configuration in the Cisco? I'm not sure how all this works and haven't received the new router yet, so I thought I'd get a head start and reach out to the experts.
My second question is unrelated, but each port on the HWIC switch cannot be configured as a network interface right? I'm pretty sure they can't as they aren't considered network interfaces but just thought I'd ask.
I'm looking for a HWIC card that will support SC fiber connections for a 2811. I know of the HWIC-1GE-SFP but this one only support the LC connections.
I've been collecting information on principles of SHDSL connection. I have found plenty of examples on how to configure only one SHDSL link. Very soon I'm going to the site to install two independent SHDSL links in Cisco 2811 which has one Cisco HWIC-2SHDSL module, so I can route one type of traffic through one connection and another type of traffic through another. Both SHDLS links have static IP addresses and probably different VPI/VCI values. how to install two SHDSL links into one HWIC-2SHDSL module, set one value for VPI/VCI on one link and another value for VPI/VCI on another link, also set one IP address on one link and another IP adddress on another link?
What is the difference between HWIC-1ADSL-M and HWIC-1ADSL without the "-M"?Can either of the above ADSL cards be used in Cisco 3845 router? We are using HWIC-1ADSL-M in our Cisco 3845 routers everywhere?
In our Environmet we have 3845 Edge Router Current Ios Version is Version 12.4(1a),(c3845-advipservicesk9-mz.124-1a.bin)As management got another fiber leased line(Single Mode) for which i have install SFP slot part number HWIC-1GE-SFP,after installation of HWIC-1GE-SFP in router the follwing slot is showing
GigabitEthernet0/1/0 %HWIC_1GE_SFP-6-SFP_IN: Interface GigabitEthernet0/1/0 1000BaseLX SFP has been inserted Interface IP-Address OK? Method Status Protocol GigabitEthernet0/1/0 xx.xx.xx.xx. YES manual up down
for testing purpose i tried the same procedure into the switch and its working fine where as in Router the link is not coming up ,
We have configured new 2911 router with HWIC-2T with it.However we are seeing serial interfaces up, but can hardly ping other end. Again we are seeing a lot of CRC errors on serial interface.
But if we connected same cable, with other old router 2811, it works fine. Confiuration is same on both the routers. [code]
I had purchased a HWIC-8A in an effort to provide terminal server capabilities into multiple routers. I had found a document that I thought would take me through the configuration but it doesn't appear that the command syntax is the same on the 2911's as it is in the document. Does any know how I would need to get this configured on the 2911 router?
I put a second HWIC-4ES in a 3825 router and it does not work, only work the first card that is inserted, I use the slot 0 for it, the 0/0 and 1/0 work with serial card only if I put the HWIC-4ESW in this slots the router does not work, only work in 0/2 and 0/3 but only one, I need to know if there is a command to active it because the data sheet in CISCO indicate that this model of router support 2 HWIC-4ESW. url...
I have cisco 2611 + NM1E , and i want to trade in for a cisco 2911 security router + HWIC4 Card.Which type of HWIC card should i use in the cisco2911-sec/k9 router?
The problem is I can't access the router from the internet. I am also an ocean away from the site. I have an ugly hack set up where I access an inside PC with Teamviewer and then puTTy to the router, but it is slow, ugly, and doesn't fix my problem. I need to be able to set up internet accessible servers at this location for VOIP, VPN, and REAL remote access.Everything else works fine. Connection is stable. Speed is kinda ******, but that's not so important.
First off some specs:Cisco 2801c2801-ipvoicek9-mz.124-24.T1.binhwic-3g-cdma-sSprint 3G data plan
Ok, I have set up the previous equipment as a router for a branch office where 3G access is the only available internet access.I have had the excruciating experience of talking with Sprint Tech Support, and would rather shoot myself in the foot than do so again.
Here is what they told me: "They block ports, but they can't tell me which ones."Here is relevant info I have been able to gather. The IP connection the ISP gives us is not NATTED. That is the address at wimi.com and show int dialer 0 is the same one. Most forums say Sprint only blocks port 80.Zenmap (nmap for windows) says the router has NO open ports but DOES exist.Router does not respond to pingsCan't SSH into router from internetCan't access a test local server with port 8080 or 8081 open with the correct nat statement in Cisco routerNo filtering access-list for testing The config should be just fine as a base config for using hwic-3g-cdma-s as the main internet access interface for a router. Everything works fine aside from the lack of remote access.
So in my head it has to be one of 3 problems.
1. The card is doing some weird stuff to incoming requests
2. Sprint is blocking WAN requests on port 22, 2200, 8080, and 8081 and pings (tested). Maybe they block all WAN requests?
3. There is something wrong with my config.
why I can't remote access into my router or things to try with the config?
Below are some config pastes:
chat-script cdma "" "ATDT#777" TIMEOUT 60 "CONNECT" ! ip ssh authentication-retries 2 ip ssh port 2200 rotary 1 ip ssh version 2
How Can I connect two router with one HWIC-4ESW card , I have Problem with this because when I tried to do , I received the message I can´t configure IP address on L2. The idea is to connect two routers with /30.
I have 3845 Router with HWIC-4ESW & I am trying to apply MQC on SVI interface but I keep getting configuration Error!-RTR(config-if)#service-policy output XYZ_WAN_QOS Configuration failed I believe that HWIC-4ESW is Layer 2 port & you can not apply Module Qos on SVI interface. I am exploring other option.
I have following link for 1 OR 2 Port Fast Ethernet port but not sure whether this will support what I am looking for.[URL] Aslo I have HWIC-1GE-SFP card on Same router where MQC works fine .interface GigabitEthernet0/1 description METRO-E duplex auto speed auto media-type rj45 service-policy output Metro-E?
I have some issue on Card Hwic-D-9ESW with Router 2821, i was install card 9ESW in to router 2821 on slot 2 and 3. After I show run, the Cisco Router 2821 have interface F0/3/0 - F0/3/8.and i configure V lan already and interface up also.
When i connect PC to port F0/3/0, the interface is up, but i cannot pint go interface, i mean it request time out. My question is, Is it correct that i install card into slot 2 and 3?
What is the problem all port up but i cannot ping to interface?
We are planning on moving towards MPLS. I want to test a MPLS capability with Cisco 1841 Router and a HWIC-4ESW. Is it possible to use the MPLS withe mentioned devices?
I am working on a backup system for my WAN. Verizon quoted the HWIC-3G-CDMA-V to work with my Cisco 1721 router. I have a bunch on these routers on a shelf and thought I would use them for the 3G network. Looking at the Cisco web site it does not list the 1721 as being able to work with this HWIC. I thought it might not be listed as the 1700 series are End of life. Whether it will work?
