I have a cisco e3000, I am able to access the wireless with laptop, tablet, but i am unable to Print from my laptop or use IPcam. I already contacted the Printer company Support and from their point of the view the issue is from the connection with the Router..

I have a home network that consists of two routers. First I have my cable modem that is connected to an Apple Airport Extreme Base Station. I tend to use that as the 'n' network for my computers so any devices using n networking connect to that.I then have a cable that goes from my Apple Airport Extreme Base Station to a Linksys E3000 router. I tend to use that as my g router and connect many devices that only have g wi-fi to it.Here is the problem:Because of a couple children that have iPod Touches and Macbooks I like to have them connect to the E3000 since it has great website blocking. I wish the Apple Base Station had website blocking but as far as I see it doesn't. Also, this website blocking has worked great since I installed the router but here is the problem. They frequently have to print items and they're unable to print since it won't find the printer.
The printer that I have is connected by Ethernet cable to the Apple Base Station It appears I have two ways of connecting the E3000 router to my Base Station. The way I currently have it connected is the E3000 is connected to the Apple router through the Internet port on the back. By doing this I get full internet and website blocking but I am unable to print through it. Yet if I connect it to the Apple router through one of it's numbered (1-4) ports, I still get internet, I'm able to print, but yet the website blocking does not work.Since the Apple base station doesn't have website blocking as far as I know the only way I can think of getting around this is to replace my Apple Base Station with another E3000 but I don't want to do this unless I have to.
Been on the phone with Canon and they seem sure its the router. Linksys guy saying it was file sharing turned off. It was not..... I can print when I'm hooked in with an ethernet cable but not when I am on wireless laptop. Any setting I need to check in the E3000?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently bought an E3000 to replace my failed WRT54G v5. With the E3000 I can't get my shared Windows folders to be accessed from my other PCs. I called telephone support and they informed me that the E3000 doesn't support file & printer sharing. WTH? Is this true? If so, I'm going to return the E3000 and get my money back. But I never heard of a router not supporting file & printer sharing. My WRT54G handled it just fine.

I have an HP L7590 printer I'm trying to hook up to my wife's computer so she can print from it. Her desktop computer and the printer are in the same room and I know I should probably just get a long usb cable and hook it up to her Vista machine when she needs to print but I've been trying to network it so she can just print easily. I have the Ethernet cable running from the printer to the Motorola SBG6580 modem. The modem is hard wired directly to her desktop and I just use my laptop wireless. I have Win7 on my laptop. I've configured all the network connections and we are sharing. Her desktop does see the printer both wirelessly and stand alone connected. I've tried to connect both ways but no joy. I've even been able to do a test print from her machine but that's all it will print for some reason. It looks as if it will run the print and it shows the printer icon in her taskbar but it won't print.

Although odd, after removing the printer from printers and devices, it always reappears and has an exclamation mark on it. I have reset the home network router, the print server, and restarted multifunction printer devices several times. On occasion, after resetting the network, the printer will print something that was backlogged in my print que many sessions ago. To get a better picture of my current network, it's current set up is as follows: My home wireless router is a Dlink- DIR -655. I have the laptop and desktop connected to the wireless router via ethernet cable. The print server is a Dlink dpr-1260, connected to the printer via usb. The print server is connected to the wireless router via ethernet cable. The desktop is running windows vista and the laptop is running windows 7. I am able to successfully login to the print server through my network at its IP address. From there I run the print wizard and successfully download and install the print drivers. I click yes to confirm print test page. Soon thereafter, a message pops up saying "This program may not have installed correctly."
I am beginning to lose patience as this has been an ongoing problem for a few months now. I do not know where to begin or what to replace. It seems as though when I attempt to install or reconfigure a computer from the network, the printer and associated devices begin having issues. So once again I am running laptop windows 7 with service pack 1 64-bit; windows vista desktop; DIR-655; DPR-1260; and Brother MFC-8440.Everything is connected via ethernet. I am running avg antivirus software and comodo firewall on both computers.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy environment has a Cisco 3560G switch which does DHCP with a VLAN for wireless clients, connected to this switch is a Cisco WLC4402 to manage all wireless access points which are Cisco 1130 and 1140 series. We recently purchased an HP LaserJet pro CP1525nw color printer which we have connected with an Ethernet cable to the Cisco switch on a port in the same VLAN as the wireless clients. The printer will pick up a valid IP address from the switch and if I connect a laptop with an Ethernet cable to the switch I can ping the IP of the printer and print to it once I install the driver, if I unplug the laptop from the switch and go over the wireless my laptop gets an IP in the same range as the printer and I can ping the printer IP address as well as open the web interface for the printer but cannot print, once I open the print queue on my laptop I see error printing and nothing prints out. I always add the printer as an IP port and supply the IP address when I install the driver to test. I have also gone through the manual for the WLC4402 but did not find anything for printing. There has to be a setting on the controller that is preventing me from printing but I don't know what it could be. On the laptop I use to test I also installed LPR and LPD and I even tried using another printer that I know works fine in its place and still could not print, so I don't think it's the printer.

If I'm logged onto Computer A, I need for Computer B's disk resources to be viewable and accessible through the standard Windows Explorer as remote drives.I've already:1.unblocked TCP and UDP ports 135 through 139, and 445 in the firewall on both computers.2. completely disabled the router's firewall (one of the computers is hooked into a router; firewall has been disabled)3. forwarded the relevant ports (noted above) in the router's config to the computer I would like to access... no joy. When I try to connect to the remote PC, it comes up not found.
I can ping it, and I can connect via remote desktop (so I also know port forwarding on the router is working). But the standard "net use" and "net view" stuff is not working.I am suspecting my ISPs (on either the east coast or west coast) are filtering the "file and print sharing" ports (i.e. TCP + UDP 135 through 139 and 445), but trying to get a hold of someone at either ISP who knows about this stuff is impossible. Any experience with Comcast (West Coast) and Cablevision (East Coast), in terms of whether or not they filter traffic through these ports ?
this printer is connected to our schools network...in the lab I'm in, we have different subnet and my tech computer and the lab pcs gets dhcp from router connected to same new network switch as printer. I can ping the printer and pull up menu in browser but cannot print.
