Been on the phone with Canon and they seem sure its the router. Linksys guy saying it was file sharing turned off. It was not..... I can print when I'm hooked in with an ethernet cable but not when I am on wireless laptop. Any setting I need to check in the E3000?

I have recently updated linksys ea4500 router with smart Wi-Fi firmware and installed USB printer with cisco usb software .on my laptop with windows xp on Wi-Fi it is working fine but on other laptop with windows 8 on wifi it is keep on connecting and disconnecting in status bar it shows unexpected disconnection.i want to use this printer from both laptops on wireless when ever needed

The MP830 was connected directly to the desktop computer and to a lap top in another room via a dlink router. But we do not know how to get the lap top to recognize the MX870. We tried adding it and entered the name Canon Pixma M870, and the program does not accept the name.

A few weeks ago it went offline and I was able to reconnect it by entering the "access point" and password in printer control panel. It has once again gone offline however the printer cannot locate the access point by searching and when entered manually returns a message that it cannot locate the access point as entered. I am having the same problem with my TV which is also wireless connected, i.e., the TV is not connected to the internet and I cannot locate the network name (access point) in the setup menu on the TV. I had also previously reconnected the TV by entering the network name manually.
I tried looking in the router - Linksys Wireless-G 2.4 but cannot figure out where this information should be located. There is a setup tab in the router administration and both the Host name and the Domain name are blank. The router admin page states that: Host Name : Enter the host name provided by your ISP. Domain Name : Enter the domain name provided by your ISP. The wireless tab states: Status: SES Inactive. Does this mean anything?

I just bought a canon pixmaMG6120 wireless printer...hooked it up to our wireless network (via a netgear wg624v3 wireless router). pritner recognizes the network, can sign into the network and has an IP in they systems setting. i can print to it via my iphone and ipad (all on the same wireless network).my HP dv6 laptop doesnt recognize a printer is on the network though. i've tried using the included cd, tried doing it via IP address, tried taking down all the firewalls, and nothing seems to work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought an E3000 to replace my failed WRT54G v5. With the E3000 I can't get my shared Windows folders to be accessed from my other PCs. I called telephone support and they informed me that the E3000 doesn't support file & printer sharing. WTH? Is this true? If so, I'm going to return the E3000 and get my money back. But I never heard of a router not supporting file & printer sharing. My WRT54G handled it just fine.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a home network that consists of two routers. First I have my cable modem that is connected to an Apple Airport Extreme Base Station. I tend to use that as the 'n' network for my computers so any devices using n networking connect to that.I then have a cable that goes from my Apple Airport Extreme Base Station to a Linksys E3000 router. I tend to use that as my g router and connect many devices that only have g wi-fi to it.Here is the problem:Because of a couple children that have iPod Touches and Macbooks I like to have them connect to the E3000 since it has great website blocking. I wish the Apple Base Station had website blocking but as far as I see it doesn't. Also, this website blocking has worked great since I installed the router but here is the problem. They frequently have to print items and they're unable to print since it won't find the printer.
The printer that I have is connected by Ethernet cable to the Apple Base Station It appears I have two ways of connecting the E3000 router to my Base Station. The way I currently have it connected is the E3000 is connected to the Apple router through the Internet port on the back. By doing this I get full internet and website blocking but I am unable to print through it. Yet if I connect it to the Apple router through one of it's numbered (1-4) ports, I still get internet, I'm able to print, but yet the website blocking does not work.Since the Apple base station doesn't have website blocking as far as I know the only way I can think of getting around this is to replace my Apple Base Station with another E3000 but I don't want to do this unless I have to.

What I get is an error message that the printer is offline -- which it isn't; it's on. I tried going thru the setup on the printer, re-entering the SSID, and it said it was connected. Still same error that it's offline.
About a month ago, I did change the name of my router, but it never cause a problem with printing from my desktop, which I can still do. It's just the laptop that gets the "offline" error.What do I need to do to make the laptop recognize that the printer is on?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI cannot seem to figure out how to connect my Canon MP620 Wireless printer to my wireless router. The router is a WRT300N v 1.1 with the latest firmware upgrade. I am using WPA for security. I can connect to the printer wirelessly through my neighbor's open system so it has something to do with security I suspect. I have enabled the AP feature and disabled it to see if that is an issue. That has not changed anything. I have looked at other posts with HP printer issues and access point posts but none of those solutions have worked. The Canon gives me an option to use the WPA, WPA2 and WEP?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just picked up the E3200 and love it. This morning I hooked up my printer via the USB. Everything went smooth until I tried to print something. I thought nothing was happening, but I let it sit for a while. While I was waiting, I was messing around with my network setting in windows. I realized that my network had been set to 'work' for some reason, so I changed it to 'home'. As soon as I did, my printer spit out my test page. (probably 5 min after sending the doc.) I don't know if it was just coincidence or what, so I sent another page and nothing happened (yet).
Is this common to take that long? Is there a way to speed this up?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can get regarding using the Collobos Fingerprint software through my WRT150N router. I'm using Windows XP SP3 and immediatly after installing (which went extreamy well) it immediatly found and listed all of my home network printers. All of the wired and wireless windows based systems in my house can see and print to the printers without any problem. However, getting ANY of my apple devices (iPad, iPhone etc ) to print will not even show them as listed on the device when I select print on the devices. Collobos says that I have to make sure that Ports UDP 5353 doe Bonjour and TCP 6361 for FingerPrint need to be open both ways for it to work, I have no problem getting into the router settings and have set them up as stated above in Port Range Triggering and enabled. Also made sure Filter Multicast was not check marked in Security. Unfortunatly, that doesn't seem to work as I had hoped.

I can't pull up the IP on a browser window or ping it successfully.The 4050 doesn't have USB capability and I don't want to use the parallel port on my PC unless I have to.If possible, I'd like to have wireless computers on the network be able to print to it as well.

The bedroom desktop is connected to the WRT120N route and the printer is connected to the bedroom desktop. The living room desktop is connected to the WRT120N route. I can print from the bedroom desktop, but cannot figure out how to print from the living room desktop.

E3200 firmware 1.0.03 build 9. HP 1012 attached to USB port of the router. On a PC with Win7, Print Preview hangs in all applications. Print... also hangs in all applications. Reboot, re-installation of print driver, change default printer do not fix.
