My router recently packed up and have been issued a new one by SKY. All connected up but now I can't print wirelessly to my Canon MP600R. Message returned of 'A communication error has occured'. Am I supposed to have changed something when using a new router. I imagined it would just work.

View 9 Replies View RelatedHave a Canon MG6120 wireless multifunction printer. I rarely print anything from my laptop, but wanted to do that today. What I get is an error message that the printer is offline -- which it isn't; it's on. I tried going thru the setup on the printer, re-entering the SSID, and it said it was connected. Still same error that it's offline.
About a month ago, I did change the name of my router, but it never cause a problem with printing from my desktop, which I can still do. It's just the laptop that gets the "offline" error.What do I need to do to make the laptop recognize that the printer is on?
I can't seem to get my Canon MG5220 Wireless Printer to connect to my Belkin N150 wireless router. The printer sees the belkin wireless router network name but cannot connect to it( after entering the correct security key). It worked fine with a previous wireless router. My desktop PC is connected to the belkin router via direct ethernet, and I want to be able to access my wireless printer which is located in another room from my PC. I think I remember reading that the canon mg5220 may not support WPA2 security, but Its only a year old and would prefer not to regonfigure my router's security setting. how I can get this printer to connect to my router? Any other ways to access this printer from my PC which is connected to LAN via ethernet?

The printer seems to recognize the wifi but won't connect, even tho I am following instructions to hold down the WPS key before clicking "OK" on the printer.

The MP830 was connected directly to the desktop computer and to a lap top in another room via a dlink router. But we do not know how to get the lap top to recognize the MX870. View 5 Replies View RelatedI cannot seem to figure out how to connect my Canon MP620 Wireless printer to my wireless router. The router is a WRT300N v 1.1 with the latest firmware upgrade. I am using WPA for security. I can connect to the printer wirelessly through my neighbor's open system so it has something to do with security I suspect. I have enabled the AP feature and disabled it to see if that is an issue. That has not changed anything. I have looked at other posts with HP printer issues and access point posts but none of those solutions have worked. The Canon gives me an option to use the WPA, WPA2 and WEP?

I re did the network wizard on both computers,and the add a printer step, but it didn't work. I also re installed the printer drivers on the laptop,but again it didn't work. View 5 Replies View RelatedI just picked up the E3200 and love it. This morning I hooked up my printer via the USB. Everything went smooth until I tried to print something. I thought nothing was happening, but I let it sit for a while. While I was waiting, I was messing around with my network setting in windows. I realized that my network had been set to 'work' for some reason, so I changed it to 'home'. As soon as I did, my printer spit out my test page. (probably 5 min after sending the doc.) I don't know if it was just coincidence or what, so I sent another page and nothing happened (yet).
Is this common to take that long? Is there a way to speed this up?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a home network that consists of two routers. First I have my cable modem that is connected to an Apple Airport Extreme Base Station. I tend to use that as the 'n' network for my computers so any devices using n networking connect to that.I then have a cable that goes from my Apple Airport Extreme Base Station to a Linksys E3000 router. I tend to use that as my g router and connect many devices that only have g wi-fi to it.Here is the problem:Because of a couple children that have iPod Touches and Macbooks I like to have them connect to the E3000 since it has great website blocking. I wish the Apple Base Station had website blocking but as far as I see it doesn't. Also, this website blocking has worked great since I installed the router but here is the problem. They frequently have to print items and they're unable to print since it won't find the printer.
The printer that I have is connected by Ethernet cable to the Apple Base Station It appears I have two ways of connecting the E3000 router to my Base Station. The way I currently have it connected is the E3000 is connected to the Apple router through the Internet port on the back. By doing this I get full internet and website blocking but I am unable to print through it. Yet if I connect it to the Apple router through one of it's numbered (1-4) ports, I still get internet, I'm able to print, but yet the website blocking does not work.Since the Apple base station doesn't have website blocking as far as I know the only way I can think of getting around this is to replace my Apple Base Station with another E3000 but I don't want to do this unless I have to.
I have a simple question; Does the E4200 have a print server built into it? I have a usb printer that I want to attach to the router so multiple computers can print to it. The printer does not have ethernet or wireless. I will be upgrading the printer later but would like for it to work with all my computers at the moment.

We are able to connect to one or the other and can print when connected to the home network or we can surf when connected to the Pantech. We can connect to both networks at the same time, but when we do we can neither print or surf.. It cannot find the printer and does not access the internet at all. View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a practically brand new HP LJ P1006 with an extra brand new HP brand toner cartridge for $1 at a local auction. I have tested it, and it works perfectly, so all is fine there. I would like to know if it is possible to print wirelessly to it at all. I do not have it hooked up to a computer right now, we only have two laptops, so there is not a desktop to have it hooked up to in order to put it on a home network (I believe that is how that works).
I do have a Netgear N300 router with a USB port however, and I was thinking I may be able to do something there.
Is it possible to hook this printer into my router via USB and then be able to print to it from our latptops? If so, how would we go about setting that up to do so?
I can get regarding using the Collobos Fingerprint software through my WRT150N router. I'm using Windows XP SP3 and immediatly after installing (which went extreamy well) it immediatly found and listed all of my home network printers. All of the wired and wireless windows based systems in my house can see and print to the printers without any problem. However, getting ANY of my apple devices (iPad, iPhone etc ) to print will not even show them as listed on the device when I select print on the devices. Collobos says that I have to make sure that Ports UDP 5353 doe Bonjour and TCP 6361 for FingerPrint need to be open both ways for it to work, I have no problem getting into the router settings and have set them up as stated above in Port Range Triggering and enabled. Also made sure Filter Multicast was not check marked in Security. Unfortunatly, that doesn't seem to work as I had hoped.

I can't pull up the IP on a browser window or ping it successfully.The 4050 doesn't have USB capability and I don't want to use the parallel port on my PC unless I have to.If possible, I'd like to have wireless computers on the network be able to print to it as well.
