Cisco :: Fault Device Manager 4.1.0 And C4503E Devices
Jul 3, 2012
I am working with LMS 4.1 and FDM 4.1.0.
If I ask to the Supported Device Finder Portlet about C4503-E (SysObjectId: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.874), it tells that this device is supported by DFM 4.1.0. Nevertheless, in DFM module each one devices appear in the "All Unknown Devices" group, with Error Code: Unsupported. CDP is enable in each one of these devices.
As far as I understand it Fault Manager need to be able to do reverse lookup for ip adresses to show the correct name in the "device name" column. I have double and tripple checked and all devices that only is shown as an ip address do have a reverse in the dns used by the LMS server. The device is correctly registered and inventory have been run. If I hold the mouse pointer over the crosshair on the row of the offending device all info is shown including correct device name and fqdn.
The server is upgraded from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 and we have the same problem before the upgrade.
Despite there are all devices are managed in DFM (accorduing to Collection Summary Portlet or Rediscover devices) there are no devices in the Fault Monitor with the message "No devices are available"Does it mean, we have absolutly no faults in our network or does it mean that we have a problem with DFM?
LMS discoverd all my devices and updated the DCR. This devices are visible in DFM. For some of this devices i would like to change the threshold values. For some reason the devices are not visible in Monitor->Fault Settings->Seup->Threshold Settings (please see screenshot) Is there another approach to change the threshold values?
I've just installed LMS 4.2, like it a lot so far. In the Fault Monitor, the Device Name column shows the device's IP address rather than the host name. We need for it to show the host name, for ease of troubleshooting; most folks don't have the IP addresses memorized. Likewise, when an email is sent out for an event, the managed device field also shows up as the device's IP address.
The devices were all discovered with their IP addresses rather than a host name...should LMS have automatically found their host names? Regardless, I manually updated all of the device's host names, yet they still display as an IP address in the fault monitor.
Also, it appears I need to figure out some way to throttle alerts. One particular device will report an event (ie a temperature out of range) dozens of times in a polling period...several per second, even though it's the same alert.
Cisco Prime 4.2. My device is stuck in Questioned state in Fault Management. The device though can be pinged from the server. Actually, I can already manage the device and have archived its configuration. Problem is, on Fault Monitoring Device Administration, its on Questioned state even though I already tried to rediscover the device several times.Do I need to configure something on the server like put in the IP address and hostname of the device in the host file of Windows Server 2008?
I have enabled auto mode and manually included but when I run a data collection some devices don't take part in the process. When I click in show included devices I can see 19 devices in Not Managed state.
I would like to use the Cisco ATA 186 as a SIP device with Cisco Call Manager 7. However, I have found that the SIP firmware for the Cisco ATA 186 is unsupported by Call Manager 7.Therefore, In order to use the ATA as a SIP device with the Call Manager, I believe I will need setup the ATA as a 3rd Party SIP device by doing the following:
1. Disable the TFTP option within the ATA, so that the SIP firmware is not overwritten by firmware from the TFTP server.
2. Install the 3.2.1 SIP firmware on the ATA, since the ATA is currently running the 3.2.4 SCCP firmware.
3. Register the ATA, as a third-party SIP device, with the Call Manager .Should I register the ATA as a 3rd party device?
I have a XFX Nforce 750a SLI mobo and reinstalled winxp pro and now Im missing the network adapter in device manager. I have a wireless pci card installed and can find that under hidden devices in D manager but no onboard! I do have yellow ? for other devices and yellow ? for everything in there:[CODE]
I was trying to fix a diagnosis error under my Internet Connection stating your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding. I thought maybe going to Device Manager while showing hidden files selected then go to non plug and play, and then I deleted NetBT, and then a PC reboot. I was very wrong because I have no Internet, and honestly, I only have one PC.I have Windows 7 Home Premium Anytime Upgrade that I bought. It's a 32-bit OS.
I just recently got the internet and I have a desktop computer that has ever rarely been used and it has never had the internet on it. I called tech support of my ISP to see what many be the problem why I can't connect to the internet and found that the source of the problem was I do not have a LAN network connection. When I open Network Connections on the computer, nothing is there. I also went to device manager and there is nothing there for Networking. Under category of "Other Devices" in Device Manager there is a question mark next to "Ethernet Controller". Are there drivers or something I need download to fix this so I can connect to the internet via a DSL connection.
My computer specs are:
Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2
We are using Campus Manager 5.2 with LMS 3.2. We have 100 devices and all 100 devices has been successfully discovered in Common services in all 100 devices are showing in DCR.When we check in RME we have found all 100 devices over there.
But, in Campus Manager we got only 95 devices. out of 88 WS-C2960G-24TC-L 5 switches are not showing in Campus manager. we have added the same manully ( manually included & Ecluded all 5 devices in Campus manager) and start the data collection, but no result.
After data collection it is showing not managed by Campus Manager when we check ( Show all Included devices option).
this is a device discovery issue with LMS 3.2. The devices added up in Common Services are not getting reflected under Campus Manager and Device Fault Manager. The devices are manually added and are stack switches (2960S-24TS-L).
regarding device package for Cisco MCS 7835-I3 [Cisco 7800 Series Media Convergence Servers] . I have added Call manager in LMS 3.2.1 but showing ? as there is no device package installed in LMS.
HP computer, was working last friday and today it isnt. Can not connect to the internet or outlook etc. Looked in BIOS says it is conected to LAN - tried enabling and disabling it and re-booting it. Still nothing. Had a tech guy that said to look in device manager, but network adapter was no where to be seen. What shall i try next to resolve this problem?
Have an hp pavilion a1700n with amd athlon. I switched from Vista to XP, but it's not recognizing some drivers. The network card is not detected on my pc, however the device manager says is working properly!!!??? What can I do? I need to connect to the internet in order to download the other drivers.
co worker brought me his comuter to reinstall windows xp, because he did not like vista, he also had his own xp discs, i have done everything like normal, have done this a time or two not my first rodeo with reinstalling windows xp, this is however the first time that this network issue has happened, i have installed the device driver cd as well along with the reset tool from dell's website, im getting NOWHERE.
my wireless connection suddenley stopped working, the light no longer turns on and the wlan is no longer an option in the vaio smart network folder, its completley disapeared, i can only connect to the net via ethernet cable now
1. I recently purchased an Asus X53-sx1159v laptop (Windows 7 64 bit os - other detals at bottom ).
2. While it has a wifi network connection (which works fine), it doesn't seem to have any listing for ethernet (ie wired) connection. (even though it has the port for wired access.)
3. When i look under computer/device manager/networks, all i get is the wifi atheros 9485 network adaptor. There is no other listing. (see attched file for screen grabs)
4. Am i missing something obvious with all this? The Asus website has examples of this model with screen grab which includes an ethernet adaptor as well (see attached file)
Note that laptop is labelled as an X53 series but in the computer it get listed as a K53e

i've just upgraded my graphic card and now i don't have any network adapters listed in the device manager (only firewire under +IEEE 1394 and all the other devices) I've already reinstalled Windows 7 (64 Bit) and tried installing another LAN card (10/100) - that wasn't recognized.
Within the BIOS (award- Motherboard- GA-P35-DS4 ) i couldn't find anything related that should be turned off/on? [URL]
Could it be broken if it is not appearing there? If yes- why isn't the motherboard recognizing my other LAN Adapter that i've installed on the bottom slot
Should i reset the Bios by pulling the battery/using the cmos jumper?
I've got basic connectivty to our ACE30 module and when I try connecting to the management IP address (attached to the Admin context), I see a very basic GUI which only lists the CSM to ACE config conversion tool. I don't see a GUI as detailed in the document: url...How do I get the ACE Applicance Device Manager GUI working so that I can then configure real servers, serverfarms etc rather than via the GUI?Having read through copious amount of documentation I can't seem to find a refrence that would ne useful here. This should be a fairly straight forward exercise - do I need to install some other software to get the full fledged GUI working?
In a cluster of redundant ACE-4710, version A5(1.2), the graphical Device Manager on the primary ACE cannot authenticate users. An error message is displayed :The strange thing is that the standby ACE Device Manager work correctly. Moreover, both ACE are perfectly synchronized :

i reinstall my computer today, and i can't connected to the internet.also, i can't find newtork adapters in the device manager section.something must wrong, i just don't know what's wrong.
