last weekend i configured HSRP on our default gateway(Cisco 2600) and now i have the problem that the latency is constantly at 3ms and from time to time it goes up to 10 ms. Is that something i should have expected or is there someting wrong with my configuration? The standby ip adresses are the same adresses as the router interfaces had before and the CPU utilization is at 10 % so i do not know what happend here. I atached the config file so if you need further information i will gladly provid it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a ADSL and ESHDSL service being delivered to a client site and then using HSRP to ensure that ADSL is provided first and ESHDSL will take over after. The ESHDSL is dedicated for DVTIs to branch offices and that works fine, however I want to provide redundancy for incoming services such as SMTP/RDP etc. but when I forward these ports or a direct IP NAT traffic can only flow if directed to the ADSL service because HSRP is masking the route back and since it came in on the ESHDSL router the ADSL router does not know what to do with the traffic and hence drops it.
How to make it so both routers can port forward with HSRP?
I need to configure an existing 2600 router to use dynamic NAT for access to the web and ALSO I have (5) fixed IP addresses for use with an email server, a web server, and (3) future servers. I do not know the concept of how to set this up. I'm currently using dynamic NAT for the web and this seems OK but I dont know how to map my fixed servers. I assume this is done with static NAT. Do I need to add sub interfaces on the S0/0 T1 interface for each of these fixed IPs? Then do I somehow do static NAT on these fixed IPs to their respective servers?
View 14 Replies View RelatedMy question relates to how many clients can be connected to a 2600 series AP. The documentation states 200 clients per radio and the AP has three radios. However when my AP gets to 200 it rejects further clients with the following log: [code] I see this exact message many times and each time the radio mac address is the same and the number of clients connected is 199. The same mac address is used for both 2.4ghz and 5ghz so does this AP have a single logical radio covering both 2.4 and 5ghz frequency ranges and is the limit for all connected clients 200?When viewing the AP details under the Wireless tab it only lists one mac address for each AP for both 2.4ghz and 5ghz frequencies.

2 networks:
F0/0: 192.168.x.x
F0/1: 10.1.x.x
No communication between them except one way multicast from F0/1 to F0/0.
How come the 2600 series IOS has the show mac-address command but it does not display anything? you need to use show arp? is this for when you use one of those network modules that is a switch?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought some hardware and created my own lab to prepare for the CCNA. I only have one machine with a serial port and whenever I try to connect to a router (I've tried multiple purchased from different sources) nothing happens on the screen. If I wait for a couple of seconds and hit enter I get the response shown on the screen in the screenshot I have inserted. If this image is too small I have also attached. looks like it has already asked me this but I am unable to see it. Shouldn't I see some information when I attempt to connect, some acknowledgement that I have connected? I have tried using both hyperterminal anbd PuTTy.

I have a Cisco 881 router running 15.1(4)M4. I am trying to configure SPAN on it to mirror my outside interface (source) to one of my LAN interfaces (dest).
!--- WAN interface
interface FastEthernet4
description Comcast WAN$ETH-WAN$
[Code]......
As you can see from the above output there is a problem with the command on this interface. When I try to set Fa0 as my source it works fine:
rtr(config)#mon session 1 source int fastEthernet 0
rtr(config)#
Is this because fa4 is layer 3 and fa0 is a switchport? If so, is there another way to set fa4 as the source?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have not done much with business routers, but we have a 1700 series with a WAN WIC-1ENET card with a RJ45 connection. We had a T1 line and will be moving to ehternet. We are going to be moving to a 20MB line, and i just wanted to make sure I have the right connections before installing. We also have a T1 line in another loaton and would be moving to this same 2811 router there as well.We would also like to copy over the configuration from 1700 series router to the 2811 router. Would it be easier to do it by hyper-terminal? Also if we keep the 1700 routers are they capable of using layer-3?
