Is there a way to configure a 28xx series router with a HWIC-AP card as a wireless client instead of a wireless access point? There isn't a network drop in the location that I need to place a router, but there is an active Access Point that reaches the area.

But the card doesnot show up in the router and all the three lights on the HWIC card is steady green. I have gone through some cisco documentation and found that i have to upgrade the IOS.
I have few questions before doing the upgrade.
1. Which IOS version should I upgrade to?
2. Will this erase my exisitng running configuration ? I have VPN services, PPPoATM, PBR etc.. all running on this router at present.
3. Presently i have a 128 MB CF card on the router. Will this be enough or do i need to upgrade this card also? Can i choose an IOS which will fit into this card otherwise while keeping all existng features?
4. I want to use the HWIC card for the ISP's internet service through PPPoE. Will this be possible with the upgraded IOS ?

When i connect PC to port F0/3/0, the interface is up, but i cannot pint go interface, i mean it request time out. My question is, Is it correct that i install card into slot 2 and 3?

Currently, I have a cheap switch connected to FE 0/0 which in turn connects to all the phones, however now I just want to connect all the phones to the HWIC and have it internally bridge to FE0/0 for the connectivity to CME, etc.

(or any other vpn privacy service for that matter) I already have an internet connection up and live with a cisco router so I would need to connect the linksys to the cisco and use the linksys as a vpn gateway kind of thing, so that any computer connected to the linksys will automatically be in the vpn tunnel without needing any cleint software installed on it. I am trying to configure a shdsl port on a 2911 router for CO mode of operation.The dsl-group auto command does not seem to change the port to operate in CO mode and the link will not come up to a remote router that has a card installed operating in CPE mode.The configuration I have applied for the shdsl controller is.

my office is looking in ordering a HWIC-1FE to supply our cisco 1841 router with a second ISP connection. i wanted to find out if this card support load balancing and fail over? not sure if fail over is the right terminology so ill explain, i need it so that if one ISP connection goes down (as it does often) it fails over to the second ISP.

As you can see from the above output there is a problem with the command on this interface. When I try to set Fa0 as my source it works fine:

Is this because fa4 is layer 3 and fa0 is a switchport? If so, is there another way to set fa4 as the source?

That SIM card had a PIN code, so I disabled it, and now I can see that 3G light flashes Blue, so it detects 3G network. Also I can see that modem tries to dial up to connect to network, but with no luck. It has CHAP APN. Also in configuration I've found that there is PPP CHAP username and password, but I don't have any of those. I've tried to configure my SIM card with Username and Password, but it doesn't save. At the moment I have: Cellular 0 is down, line protocol is down. Dialer 2 is up (spoofing), line protocol is up (spoofing).
SIM card status is OK. Network detects O2 - IRL - yes.
It detects the network, but cannot connect to it. I'm not sure how to setup the SIM card or how to unlock it.

I tried with manual settings but it keeps on showing the message "connecting" but doesn't connects although my datacard is shown as identified by the device MR-3020. I'm using BSNL EVDO connection and my datacard is ZTE-AC8700. It doesn't uses any APN, only a username and password and dial number "#777" is required to connect. configuring my datacard with MR3020 ???
