Aug 19, 2012I've been given an 1841 with a 3G HWIC card installed to test with. I need to set up some sort of VPN to our ASA, the problem is though these 3G cards get a random public IP, so what options do I have to create a VPN tunnel from this router to the ASA without the 1841 getting a static public IP?

May 19, 2011I have a 2811 router runnning IOS 12.4(21) and have added an HWIC 1FE card to slot 2. But the card doesnot show up in the router and all the three lights on the HWIC card is steady green. I have gone through some cisco documentation and found that i have to upgrade the IOS.
I have few questions before doing the upgrade.
1. Which IOS version should I upgrade to?
2. Will this erase my exisitng running configuration ? I have VPN services, PPPoATM, PBR etc.. all running on this router at present.
3. Presently i have a 128 MB CF card on the router. Will this be enough or do i need to upgrade this card also? Can i choose an IOS which will fit into this card otherwise while keeping all existng features?
4. I want to use the HWIC card for the ISP's internet service through PPPoE. Will this be possible with the upgraded IOS ?

Jan 23, 2011I have some issue on Card Hwic-D-9ESW with Router 2821, i was install card 9ESW in to router 2821 on slot 2 and 3. After I show run, the Cisco Router 2821 have interface F0/3/0 - F0/3/8.and i configure V lan already and interface up also.
When i connect PC to port F0/3/0, the interface is up, but i cannot pint go interface, i mean it request time out. My question is, Is it correct that i install card into slot 2 and 3?
What is the problem all port up but i cannot ping to interface?
Note: the same V lan

Around two weeks 3g interface works, got IP address ,everyting was fine.Yesterday I check the sytem and I saw that cellular interface become reseting itself, without stoping.We have 2 g.shdls and one 3G connection on the same router. dialer 0 ansd dialer 1 for g.shdls, and dilaer 3 for 3G connection. Sep 4, 2012Configuring a Cisco 1130 AP (autonomous) to a 1861 router.
I am struggling to work out how to connect this and get it working.
Router has 2 v lans, VOICE and DATA. All switch ports configured for access v lan (DATA) and voice v lan (VOICE)
We need the AP to have an SSID for VOICE and DATA and the gateway/DHCP server for each of these to be the router.

What's the proper syntax to set source to flash? I've tried flash0 and flash1 with the same result.

May 1, 2011having a very strange problem with a Cisco 1861 running - Cisco IOS Software, C1861 Software (C1861-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), Version 12.4(24)T5
I have suddenly started to get performance issues with downloads and access through the ZBF. Without the firewall enabled and just having NAT enabled and routing , downloads perform as expected - ( have been using Itunes download as test file ) - with the ZBF enabled , and the necessary rules installed to inspect & allow traffic - downloads stall - and the only way to get the downlaod to start again is to pause , then resume. The stalls are anything between the first 25 - 120 secs.
I have debugged and performed packet traces - but cant see anything untoward. I have also placed another router ( just a cheap Belkin ) on the ADSL service and again , the downloads work as expected.
one further thing to add is that when im tunneling through the firewall ( VPN ) , then downloads do work as expected - suggesting that the issue is with native HTTP(s) traffic..I have upgraded from T4 to T5 - and the symptons still remain - I am thinking that these may have been introduced when i upgraded to T4 a few monthes ago.

The router needs to be security enabled...the equipments needs to be a router by defination (not a layer 3 switch)..As per my understanding there is limitation on number of HWIC-2 FE that can be put in ISR G2 series due to which I cannot reach that figure...

If it is not reacheable, then router brings up backup connection - 3G. This can be done by using dialer-watcher.Simple.But unfortunately my primary WAN interface is an FastEthernet, which is the coonected to a switch, switch to WAN . There is no dialer-watch commands on it. Thats sad .

Cisco WAN :: HWIC-2SHDSL Disconnection With ATM Interface
Jul 13, 2011I have a scenario where multiple branches are connected to Head Office via DSL links. The branches are located in differenct exchanges, everyone once in a while ALL branches go down at the exact same time except 3 branches and those 3 branches don't have ATM interface on the router, rather they have external DSL modem, all other branches that face the disconnection (for couple of minutes) have either HWIC-1ADSL-M or HWIC-2SHDSL and the DSL line is directly plugged into the card. I tried so many solutions like adding "operating-mode auto" command under the subinterface, IOS upgrade, changed dynamic routing protocol from EIGRP to OSPF... Nothing worked, on the logs of the router it just shows "EIGRP neighbor down", at the time of the problem I can't ping any of the affected branches on their WAN ATM interface although it stays physically "up up".Could the problem be a missing command that I need to add under the subinterface? Something maybe related to clocking or timeout or..?Note that hte problem occurs randomly, every few days, sometimes every 10 days, and all branches with ATM interface go down at the exact same time.
