Cisco :: L-PI-1.1-CM-500 / Prime Infrastructure 1.x Server Requirements And Operating System?
Feb 2, 2013
I need to order LMS for one of our customer with 500 devices and reporting capabilities ..... So i chose base license "R-PI-1.1-K9" and 500 device license "R-PI-1.1-500-K9" and Compliance Management - 500 Device License "L-PI-1.1-CM-500"? i tried to search server capability for my requirements & Operating system and couldn't find it .....
1) What is the server requirements ?
2) What is operating system (windows 2008 or VMWare VMware ESX/ESXi Version 4.1 or 5.0)
We currently support multiple companies' infrastructure on a single Prime Infrastructure 1.2 server. We are using lifecycle licenses. Is it possible to assign licenses to various Businesses? For example, can I upload 100 licenses for Company-X and 100 licenses for Company-Y and when adding devices into Prime, tell it which licenses pool to pull from? Could something like this be accomplished with virtual domains?
I was wondering if it is possible to install a certain operating system on a network HDD. any possible install a virtual machine or use that as a remote desktop to retrieve on a ipad.
I am getting following error during installation of LMS 4.0. ( "CWLMS-4.0-100-K9").I have installed SP1 for the Windows 2008 Standard R2, still getting same error. Since Cisco's minimum requirement is Windows 2008 Standard and Enterprise with Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2 (32 and 64 bit).
I'm currently running CiscoWorks LMS 4.0.1 on Windows 2003 under VMware and just got upgrade licensing for Prime Infrastructure 1.2. I am assuming that I will need to upgrade the current server to Prime LMS 4.2 in order to ensure that data migration to Prime Infrastructure goes well. I am planning to follow Cisco's recommendation to run Prime LMS and Prime Infrastructure in parallel for a time and migrate individual functions.
My real question is about Syslog handling. All of the managed devices are currently sending Syslog data to LMS. As a last step in the migration, is it possible to change the IP address of the Prime Infrastructure server to replace the Prime LMS server so that the Prime Infrastructure server will just start getting all the Syslog data, or do I need to go change hundreds of managed devices to point to a new address?
What is the relation between: cisco NCScisco Prime LMSCisco Prime infrastructure. As i orderd a Cisco Prime infrastructure from a Cisco Partner and what i got is :
x2 cisco NCS appliances x1 DVD cisco prime infrastructure x1 DVD Cisco prime 4.2
I am redoing my homes networking and I am looking for a firewall. I heard that you can install clear os on a server and use it as a firewall and a dhcp server. So i was going to install it on a rack in my server cabinet. does the server need to have a wan port and a lan port? Or how does the server get connected? So, so far its the cable modem into the clear os firewall and then into my switch. Is is possible to use the clear os server as the dhcp server for the whole house? From the switch I am going to connect the rest of my servers, and the rest of the house. I was going to connect two wireless routers for my house. Would that work with the clear os server?
I might have to reboot my operating system, I have a Cisco wireless router, so I have to reset it, and set it up again after i reboot my operating system?
Am currently running BT Voyager 2091 wireless ADSL router with BT Voyager 1055 wireless USB adapter. What system requirements does one need to upgrade to 802.11n. The OS is XP Pro x32 bit x86 based PC
According to the Installation notes for ACS 5.3 we need 500GB of storage for a working installation - if not it defaults to taking 60 GB of disk space for an eval version.
Im trying to install the e2500 router on my sisters macbook, but it says it is an "unsupported operating system". She has operating system 10.8.1. Why am i not able to install It?
I just got my dell dimension 2400 up n running again.
1) I need a new operating system . i know how to do that what with windows being designed to make computers work properly or what is the latest thats not vista or could i just get a copy from a friend? <--- that may not be particularly legal but idc i just want to know if it would work if a new disk is too expensive
2) I need internet connectability i have a working att wireless router brand new just got delivered today and i have a d link wireless reciever thing i just got from my buddy but how to get the internet up n running without boring holes in the floor / wall or dragging a cable 18 miles from the router to the computer so i need it to be wireless
3) I am not sure what to do with it do i just need soft ware updates or do i need hardware updates to get it up to speed with the so called "big boys even though its far larger than any laptop my goal is to have a fast running internet capable game capable and multitasking computer with which i can do.
I am on my home network and I do have a Windows 2008 Server and hopefully I will have another one soon. I also have 2 windows xp machines and 2 windows 7 machines and a non-operating server.
WCS 7.0 to Prime Infrastructure 1.2 migration?I am so confused on the migration procedure as I found the documents in Cisco kind of contradictory. Some document said it is required to upgrade WCS to NCS 1.1 before to go to prime infrastructure 1.2.And the other document said WCS can directly upgrade to prime infrastructure 1.2.
we installed a new CPI 1.3. Both machines are in the same subnet and close to each other. Everything looks fine and is installed as we see in the config guide. When we halt the VM of the primary Server, the backup takes over but with errors. I'm also not able to login! [code] my colleauges did the same a few days ago also with problems or similar problems and restore the server from backup.
I have NCS 1.0 with 100 devices support license installed. Now knowing it has reached end of sale, and also for the fact that Prime does cover devices like routers, i went ahead to the upgrade path via PUT (Product Upgrade Tool). Finally I received an email (OBA) advising my order is ready. This email included two items in the shipment,
L-N-PI12-100-M= NCS 1.0 to Prime Infrastructure 1.2 Minor Upg 100 Device L-PILMS42-100-M Prime Infrastructure LMS 4.2 - 100 Device Upgrade Lic
When i click to the link in the same email to download the license, it only shows me one file which is L-PILMS42-100-M I tried using this file and installing on the NCS1.0 but it gives me error that this file is not a license file. The license name suggests me that it is not the license to be installed on the NCS. The file should be L-N-PI12-100-M=
I am thinking of upgrading the WCS to Cisco Prime NCS in our environment, but i read NCS is replaced by Prime infrastructure. Now I am confused if I should go for the NCS or Infrastructure. option for a smaller environment with 200APs and 4-5 WLCs(5500, 4400 and 2100) and future proof for the next 5 years. I heard WCS is going to be obsolete soon but didnt find any official announcement except for legacy licenses?
We have ACS 5.3 with built in ACS View, does PI 1.3 support it? We have set up in PI 1.3 but unable to see the authentication records for clients, I wonder if they are compatible.
I am looking for the licensing and upgrade path for going from WCS 7.0 to PI 1.2.At present I have a WCS licensed for 200 APs which is managing one controller and 150 APs.I intend to use the Cisco Prime Upgrade Promotion to order R-W-PI12-M-K9 (WCS 7.0 to Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2 Migration) and L-W-PI12-100-M and L-W-PI12-100-M to match the number of licenses on the WCS.
Once Prime is installed I also want to manage another 50 devices, does that mean I have to purchase the Cisco PI 1.2 Base License and Software (R-PI12-Base-K9) and another 50 Lifecycle licenses, or will my existing 200 licenses from the upgrade suffice.
Trying to add Cisco 2504 Wireless Controller, Software Version 7.3.101.0, to Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2 (1.2.0.103), License Evaluation, with no success. When using Discovery, Discovery Job show Credential Errors: "Error occurred due to invalid SNMP credential"
When Add Device from Device Work Center I get: Reachability is "Unknown", Device Type is empty, Collection Status is "Managed with Warnings", with message "SNMP Failure: No Response for SNMP Get request.", Collection Time is empty.
I've tried with both snmp v2 and v3. I've tried to lower "Maximum VarBinds per Get PDU" to 10 or 20, cause I've read similar problem in NCS.
I am trying to add a router on Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2 using snmpv3 (authpriv, sha & aes256). When i go to device work center and add a device, i cannot find the AES-256 in the privacy options. Only None, DES, and AES-128 are available.
I have just installed prime 1.3 (brand new install), we have started a discovery job to find one switch (IP address), this job has so far come up with 311 credential failures and appears to be going through every 127.0.0.x IP address it can.Is there a way of stopping this job from running. Clicking on the Red X next to the name has no effect.
I have newly deployed a Prime Infrastructure (PI) in my network, and i want to add my wirless controller in it. I get an error SNMP time out whenever i add my controller to PI through SNMP.
There are default SNMP configurations in the controller and i am simply adding them in PI with their private/public SNMP string.
WLC 5508 is connected to my core switch and PI is connected to another switch which is directly connected to core switch via Layer 3.
Is there any configuration required to be done on the switch side.?
