Im trying to install the e2500 router on my sisters macbook, but it says it is an "unsupported operating system". She has operating system 10.8.1. Why am i not able to install It?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI first bought the e1200 version and when I tried to download it on my computer, it worked at first and installed correctly, but the cisco connect didn't properly install. I was able to log into the router online setup page ONE time. I tried to reset it and reinstall but it will not work.So I thought ok let me go and purchase a better one (thinking it was the router version having issues). So I brought it back and purchased the E2500 and I am having the same trouble.
I have tried to reset it about 20 times and reinstall and it will not install at all. It still gives me internet, but I cannot log into the http://192.168.1.1/ page at all, it tells me internet cannot display.
Notified of new firmware for my router. Tried to install. Downloaded fine but will not install. Keeps saying error but not what kind, how to fix, not anything.

So i was going to install it on a rack in my server cabinet. does the server need to have a wan port and a lan port? Or how does the server get connected? So, so far its the cable modem into the clear os firewall and then into my switch. Is is possible to use the clear os server as the dhcp server for the whole house? From the switch I am going to connect the rest of my servers, and the rest of the house. I was going to connect two wireless routers for my house. Would that work with the clear os server?

View 1 Replies View Relatedwe just purchased 2 asa 5585-40's and tried to add them to our lms 3.2 system and we were informed by cisco tac that they were not supported in lms 3.2. since we don't having funding for an upgrade, any work around within lms that could allow me to add the devices so i can use lms for syslog and to fetch the firewall configs on a regular basis, instead of having to setup a seperate syslog server and having to tftp the config's everytime i make a change.

In terms of signal strength, the strongest signal is usually, but not always, one of the channels on the 2.4GHZ band (usually 11). However, in terms of speed of connection and lack of overcrowding, the best signal is invariably one the channels on the 5GHZ band (usually 161). My AE3000 will inevitably connect to the strongest signal (channel 11) even though it only slightly stronger than the signal on channel 161 and furnishes a much slower connection than that obtainable on channel 161. Is there any way I can "force" the AE3000 to connect via channel 161 rather than channel 11?

I don't know how many of you read the article List of tested USB storage devices for the Linksys E4200 before buying it. Basically, what it says, is that you cannot connect your "too old" or "too new" (>2TB) HDD to this router and you have to settle with an WD MyBook Mirror Edition 2TB or Seagate FreeAgent Desk 2TB at best. Needless to say that this not good enough. First I believed that the list is incomplete and if a brand is listed with a model then a bigger or a smaller one will work as well. Sadly this is not the case: neither WD Passport with 320 GB (FAT32) nor a LACIE 1TB (NTFS) could be connected to E4200.
If any of you succeeded to pair the router with a different external HDD than the ones from the.
P.S.: I strongly believe that Cisco should work on an updated firmware which should expand the list of supported HDDs.
Just purchased the E4200 for our office to find that the most current mac operating system, is not supported by this wireless router.

I have about 20 devices which i'm allowing to access my router, so i keyed in the MAC addresses into the config page and save setting. But only 16 addresses are registered, the rest refused to register no matter how many times i key in, it just reset back to 00:00:00:00:00:00 after i click on save setting.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI previously entered in settings for the "Static DNS" 1 through 3 (using ip addresses from OpenDNS and one from Google DNS).
I want to remove these so the router reverts to using the DNS allocated to it by the ADSL modem (which will likely be the IP of the modem, which then forwards the requests to the DNS from the ISP).But I can't clear the Static DNS settings. I have to put in 0.0.0.0 but the last zero is not accessed. I get the error: The value is out of range [1 - 254].So I end up with 0.0.0.1 and then all Internet access is lost on the computers because they are being given a bad DNS IP.
How can I reset the static DNS ip address back to 0.0.0.0 ?

The E2500 has an LAN IP of 10.0.0.2 and the router has 10.0.0.1 and a dhcp range outside of these. DHCP is disabled on the E2500. I can use my E2500 as a wired access point with no difficulty I plug something in and it calls the router and gets an address, but I can not get DHCP through the wireless of the E2500.
