Notified of new firmware for my router. Tried to install. Downloaded fine but will not install. Keeps saying error but not what kind, how to fix, not anything.
View 1 RepliesI first bought the e1200 version and when I tried to download it on my computer, it worked at first and installed correctly, but the cisco connect didn't properly install. I was able to log into the router online setup page ONE time. I tried to reset it and reinstall but it will not work.So I thought ok let me go and purchase a better one (thinking it was the router version having issues). So I brought it back and purchased the E2500 and I am having the same trouble.
I have tried to reset it about 20 times and reinstall and it will not install at all. It still gives me internet, but I cannot log into the http://192.168.1.1/ page at all, it tells me internet cannot display.
Im trying to install the e2500 router on my sisters macbook, but it says it is an "unsupported operating system". She has operating system 10.8.1. Why am i not able to install It?

Where or how can i see which is the machine (mac or ip) that is doing more traffic, in fact i would like to see what computers are doing how much traffic.
This is a default on most routers, its so weird to not been able to find this on a Cisco product.
I am trying to set up a E2500 router to a Arris/Comcast modem. I connected the blue cable to the router then to the modem and followed the Cisco instructions on the disk. I was 90% done when I received a error message 82BD0118 - Description - adapter connection time out period expired with no IP address.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently bought the E2500 Router and I am using the EA2500 Adapter with it . I have this set-up on 2 Desktop PC's . 1 Pc is working just fine with this set-up . The other keeps giving me an Error message of "Invalid Key Manual" . What does this mean ? The adapter is working because it does find the Router as a usable connection . It just isn't able to connect to it and keeps giving me the same Error message .

The incoming and outgoing logs show up blank, even when there are 10-20 computers using the Internet and I know there is traffic being generated. DHCP and security logging still works fine. I also have a few E1200s on the latest firmware that are logging just fine... I'm just having issues with the E2500s.

Please try again later.We've encountered an unexpected error. If the issue continues, please visit our Technical Support site.I've reset the router multiple times, powered it off overnight, re-downloaded the file multiple times, and am still unable to successfully rollback. Sometimes it even errors out when I try to set the password on the router itself and I have to reset it again before I can use the interface.

My note is an ACER 5552-5664 running Ubuntu 11.04 and Windows 7, in Ubuntu I can’t use the wireless. In Windows it works fine.The phone is a Samsung Galaxy and do no connect in the wireless.I had an old notebook running only Windows 7 that works fine too.In my father’s home there is an WRT54G and all my equipment connected there. Other problem is that when I tried to update the firmware, it simple don’t update. I’ve downloaded the last firmware file from Cisco’s page.
I just have an old Dlink DIR-615 Wireless router. I have some problems with it and need to improve it... So, what is the best option... buy a new DIR-636L or 657 router or install the latest ddwrt firmware on the existing one?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have upgraded the firmware on my Linksys BEFSR41 V4.3 router. On this router i used Statis IP (so DHCP enabled). This worked fine on my network, until this upgrade. Now when i try to ad another static IP , or when i want to change something in the Routing-tab, i get this message ' Wrong Gateway Input! It should be the same subnet with WAN IP'. Strange because i haven't changed anything in the settings.I already did a complete reset on the router, still the same problem.
View 7 Replies View RelatedCox Communications comes into the house over an RG6 cable to a a 2-way splitter, one leg amplified for TVs, the other leg straight to a Linksys BEFCMU10 cable modem for internet access. The modem is connected to a Linksys WRT54GL router for the PCs.
BEFCMU10: Hardware Version = v1.0; Software Version = v2.0.2.0.7
WRT54GL: Hardware Version = v1.1; Software Version = v4.30.11
The WRT54GL firmware is stock Linksys code which can log addresses but not errors (as far as I can determine). Is there a WRT54GL firmware lump I can flash into my device that logs network errors it encounters between itself and the BEFCMU10 and that it might be informed of by the BEFCMU10 in its dealings with Cox? I'd want to read that log through the WRT's web UI; ideally I'd want to upload it to my PC. If the firmware logs errors on/from its other ports as well.I need it to sort out what Cox tells me are numerous "modem resets" that they're seeing at their end.The resets are the apparent cause of big slowdowns, we see on our end.By the way, yesterday a Cox tech replaced the 2-way splitter and the short coax from it to my modem, then measured signal strength and said it was in the middle of the "okay range".
My desktop is telling me I need to install wireless internet hardware. Is that something I buy and install? I am trying to connect to the internet through time warner cable wireless.

I'm currently setting the MAC address filtering for my Linksys E2500 router. I have about 20 devices which i'm allowing to access my router, so i keyed in the MAC addresses into the config page and save setting. But only 16 addresses are registered, the rest refused to register no matter how many times i key in, it just reset back to 00:00:00:00:00:00 after i click on save setting.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a WLC 2504 with 5 AP licenses for which I have installed an adder license via GUI. The installation completed successfully, but I still cannot view the new license. The maximum number of APs is still showing as 5 and in fact I cannot add more that 5 APs. I tried installing the license file again, but now I get a "duplicate" error.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI previously entered in settings for the "Static DNS" 1 through 3 (using ip addresses from OpenDNS and one from Google DNS).
I want to remove these so the router reverts to using the DNS allocated to it by the ADSL modem (which will likely be the IP of the modem, which then forwards the requests to the DNS from the ISP).But I can't clear the Static DNS settings. I have to put in 0.0.0.0 but the last zero is not accessed. I get the error: The value is out of range [1 - 254].So I end up with 0.0.0.1 and then all Internet access is lost on the computers because they are being given a bad DNS IP.
How can I reset the static DNS ip address back to 0.0.0.0 ?
I am trying to connect to a new VPN using my E2500 router. As soon as I connect, the connection breaks.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to add my E2500 as a second wireless router to cover my entire house.I have a Motorola Surfboard SBG6580 cable modem (Time-Warner) at one end of the house.I added via powerline Ethernet connection a new E2500 wireless router at the other end of the house.The E2500 set-up with all defaults and has the same SSID and Password as the Surfboard cable modem.It seems to work OK, but I wonder about network confusion/interference.Do I have to configure the E2500 in some manner to allow seamless roaming of my wireless devices (iPad, Cell Phones, Netbook)?I had an RE1000 with just the Surfboard, but it did not quite do the trick, and does not like both routers connected at either end.

The E2500 has an LAN IP of 10.0.0.2 and the router has 10.0.0.1 and a dhcp range outside of these. DHCP is disabled on the E2500. I can use my E2500 as a wired access point with no difficulty I plug something in and it calls the router and gets an address, but I can not get DHCP through the wireless of the E2500.

My internet was disconnecting sporadically. After connecting the new router, a started getting the same issue. I replaced my internet cable modem to a Cisco 2100 modem (provided by Time Warner). I noticed that the issue keeps happening sporadically which makes me believe it is my Linksys router. Every time a new wireless connection is connected, my modem circuit dies. This happens sporadically.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working with vpn setups for the first time. I would like to be able to connect to a computer on a home network through a linksys E2500 router. I have found alot of documentation on connecting to an external vpn from a computer on the lan side of the router, but nothing on connecting from the outside in. The router does have a static ip address with my internet provider, so I can contact the router from the outside. But makeing the connection to the computer on the other side of the router is where I am missing something or I dont realize that it is not possible. On the LAN side I am using DHCP to assign the address to the computer I want to connect to. Perhaps I need to make it have a static address also? I realize that when I configure the connection from the outside that I need to direct the connection to the remote computer in some way, unless vpn connections are fully passed through the router and the connection issue I am having is with the "inside" computer.
