Linksys Wireless Router :: EA2700 Gives Error When Updating The Firmware
Jul 3, 2012
I have an EA2700 which I am trying to rollback to the older interface, however it errors out every time I try to install the firmware. All I ever get is this message: Unexpected Error The firmware update did not complete successfully. Please try again later. We've encountered an unexpected error. If the issue continues, please visit our Technical Support site.I've reset the router multiple times, powered it off overnight, re-downloaded the file multiple times, and am still unable to successfully rollback. Sometimes it even errors out when I try to set the password on the router itself and I have to reset it again before I can use the interface.
When I bought my E1200 router my primary (in fact only) computer was a Windows laptop. Since that time I bought a MacBook Pro and have been using that as my primary computer. The Mac is running on the latest OS (Mountain Lion).
I would like to install the latest software to maintain the router on my Mac but I was told several months ago that there was no update available for Mountain Lion. If that has changed, and if so then where can I download the appropriate software?
I have a nest in the house and upgraded my router because nest is very picky with what routers it works with..something to do with power save mode and NAT settings Read here.well the linksys was working just fine with the nest until I upgraded the firmware to the smart wifi thing...it's a EA2700 btw.
Any direct download of the EA2700 firmware upgrade. My inet is not dsl or cable and will not let the wan port connect, therefor the "auto firmware update" will not work. I'd like to update it and see if it fixes it before I return this for a dlink. url...Anyways, I just want the firmware link so I can decide if this thing is going back to the store or not.
i just updated my firmware on my wrt54g ver 2 router, went through all the steps it updated successfully after that i hit the reset button and unplugged the router as tehe online instructions said to. Now i can't connect to the interent at all with either of my two wired computers or through the wireless. All the lights on the front of the router are on like the power, internet, and wireless connectivity. Also the the two WAN ports my computers are connected to in the router the lights are on and it's recognising them. But I can't connect to the internet or even see the router on my network settings. Somone suggested to reconfigure the router but when i go to set up new connection my computer doesn't detect the router and also i cant connect to the router using the ip address 192.168.1.1/ since there is no internet connection. Is there a way to get to the router options or a way to revert it to its old firmware.
I recently updated my firmware for a DIR-601 router and have internet while hardwired, but no wireless. I saved the configuration settings before updating, but this doesn't even matter because my wireless router doesn't even show up in the list of available wireless network connections. Why isn't my router showing up? I tried a few things like unplugging it and resetting it, but nothing seems to work.
I have a problem updating firmware for an WAP610N access point. The thing is i tryed to update from 1.0.01 to 1.0.03 and the update freezed at 49%. The next day it was restarted but of course it didn't worked again. The question is can i reset it some how so i can retry the firmware update ?
I have an E3000 with firmware v. 1.0.01 build 6. I am trying to upgrade to the latest firmware version. I downloaded the file, and when I went to install from the web page I got the error message: Not enough memory available. I tried from 2 computers and got the same message.
I have an WRT54G2, and I recently bought an new notebook and a new mobile phone. The question is none can connect to my wireless network. My linksys had the following configuration:
Firmware 1.0.03 SSID hidden WPA2 personal + AES
My note is an ACER 5552-5664 running Ubuntu 11.04 and Windows 7, in Ubuntu I can’t use the wireless. In Windows it works fine. The phone is a Samsung Galaxy and do no connect in the wireless.I had an old notebook running only Windows 7 that works fine too.In my father’s home there is an WRT54G and all my equipment connected there. Other problem is that when I tried to update the firmware, it simple don’t update. I’ve downloaded the last firmware file from Cisco’s page.
For some reasons, my internet connection keeps dropping more often recently. My laptop still says it is connected to my network but I can just not have internet connection. It was not like that before but it happened more frequently now. What I did was to power off then on the modem and the router and everything will work fine again. I want to upgrade my firmware but I just wonder if I need to save all the configuration before doing the upgrading? If so, then how can I set it back to the old configuration that was saved?
I was brought a WAP200 that was giving a client some issues. I've been told the first thing to try is to update/reinstall the firmware. I have the newest firmware file downloaded and saved, and I have the WAP200 plugged in and sitting on my desk.
I reset the access point and connected it directly to my computer with a patch cable, then entered the default IP address (192.168.1.245) to attempt to access the device. No go. Is that supposed to work and something is wrong with it? All I want to do is update the firmware, because if the device has been reset and the firmware reinstalled and it's still not working, then we'll just deem it defective and have it replaced.
I have upgraded the firmware on my Linksys BEFSR41 V4.3 router. On this router i used Statis IP (so DHCP enabled). This worked fine on my network, until this upgrade. Now when i try to ad another static IP , or when i want to change something in the Routing-tab, i get this message ' Wrong Gateway Input! It should be the same subnet with WAN IP'. Strange because i haven't changed anything in the settings.I already did a complete reset on the router, still the same problem.
i got an ea2700 and i cant get the external to work internally which i need for server tests now this has worked before on every other router i had without any editing done but this one doest allow that so what can i do to make it work with this router?
I recently purchased an EA2700 to replace an old Belkin. I ran the set up CD and I am unable to establish an internet connection. I am able to connect to the router (both wired and wireless), ccess the settings, etc but cant reach the net. I've tried turning off the firewall, flushing the DNS, disabledthe IPv6. Did all the basic steps, resett the modem/router, etc...nothing. i hook the Belkin up and it connects just fine
I have EA2700 Router which support to be a dual-band wireless router and I am trying to connect to my router using 5 Ghz band with AE2500 Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Adapter, I am only seeing 2.4 Ghz wireless band plus even if I manually enter my 5 Ghz SSID my network adapter still wouldn't work on 5 Ghz band. Is there any specific set up in order get 5 Ghz band to work?
My first issue with this device is when I try to untick NAT to disable it I lose my internet connection. This also disables access to router's address 192.168.1.1 forcing me to reset the device and set it up all over again. Why is this happening? I tried this at least five times with the same result. Second question I have is if the DHCP reservation is the right option if I want to forward ports for certain applications like Vuze? When the DHCP reservation window opens I see all my wireless devices in the list (laptop, phone) but not the main computer which is connected through ethernet port. But that is yet another problem.
I've got a cable modem, connection is set to Automatic DHCP and I all want is to disable all firewalls, NAT and other unnecessary protection that's slowing my internet speed, set up MAC address filtering, port forwarding and close this terrible software so I never have to see it or think about it ever again.
i have a EA2700 router and I'm connectied wirelessly to my PS3. If i am not hosting a game i will be lagging all over the place yet it says i have full connection to majority of games that i connect to. i paid 115 dollars for this router and am very dissapointed that its doing this. Also no there is no way for me to connect wired to the router it is to far away. Also i tried bringing my ps3 to my friends house and played on his wireless connection and it worked perfectly so its deffinetly my router.
EA2700v1 WPS-PIN using 5GHz does not work. This router includes WPS header in its 5GHz beacon and probe response but the router removes the WPS header from them once WPS-PIN starts. There is no problem with WPS-PIN using 2.4GHz.
I am not able to access the web interface of the router. No, i am not using cisco cloud or smartlink .. yes, it has the latest firmware (Ver.184.108.40.206982).Yes, I might be able to get to it if i shut down the router and turn it on again a few minutes later, but the problem is.. why? why do i have to interrupt connections and not have internet to log into the admin web interface of this device? Is there a known problem with it that makes the webservice go down?.. or to take extremely long to respond and thus the browser to quit on it throwing an error?
My new EA 2700 disconnects from the internet if the desktop is idle for more than 30 minutes. needs to be unplugged for a few minutes then it will reconnect. This is an unacceptable situation and this thing will be tossed if it cannot be fixed. Can this be reset so it won't disconnect? or do I need to replace it with a product from another company?
I have an Cisco EA2700 router and a Motorola SB6121 modem. If I'm connected to the router wirelessly or through any of the lan ports, I can't visit the modem's diagnostics page at 192.168.100.1. If I connect directly to the modem, it works fine. Also I cannot ping the modem through the router, just get a timeout. My ISP is Comcast.
I have tried all the speed test sites and tried downloads with and without my EA2700. Every test shows about half the perfomance when connected through the router. My speed tests at speedtest.net with a direct connection are in the 21-26Mbps range, the same tests run about a minute later through the EA2700 fall in the 10-12Mbps range with spikes up to 17Mbps.I've reset the router and modem.I've gone back to the 220.127.116.11982 Firmware (which it's currently on)I've set the MTU everywhere from 1400 to 1500 (literally EVERY setting for at least a couple of hours) it is 1492 currently. None of these have worked. In addition, when a large stream starts, such as a Steam download, I will lose ALL connectivity. Going in to Network and Sharing and clicking to connect to the internet restores the connection, no need to reset any hardware (which is odd in itself). I have had MANY routers over the years and I've all but exhausted support with service provider as the connection is solid if I eliminate the router.Main machine is a Windows 7 Home edition Total of 5 machines, 3 of which see regular use All machines go through a Trendnet 16 port switch and performance is the same direct or through the switch I m on Brighthouse in Central Florida and have all but exhausted their support.
I recently bought an EA2700 in hopes that it will make my connection faster, stronger signal and stable. However, this is not the case. The connections keeps dropping and the range is the same as my Verizon-FiOS router. Anyway, I'm hoping that a fix be distributed to address this issue. I can't return my router to the vendor anymore.
Now, since I have two routers, I want to be able to leverage EA2700's dual-band feature and the Guest-access feature but I can't make this as a main router since my FiOS router should still be able to supply IP addresses to my cable boxes, thus, I can't configure it as a Bridge. I'm thinking if I just split the IP distribution as follows:
