We are using LMS 4.0 with license of 100 Users. We are managing 12 devices till now. But from last two days I am trying to add a device ( i.e. 2811 router) and after adding the device in DCR (Inventry> Device Administration>Add/Import/ Manage Devices) it displays message i.e. devie added succesfully. But this added device is not displayed in Inventry> Device Administration>Add/Import/ Manage Devices.
observation :
1. In managed device list router 2811 is reflecting in Device Type Groups, but not in all devices.
2. New added device is reflecting in Known device list if we generate a report for know device ( under path Reports>Invenrty>Management Status>Known Device List).
I have my device configured, and it has an IP, subnet, etc.I currently have it connected with serial port to my laptop and used PutTy to get into it,
However, despite it having an IP, I cannot use the web browser with it! This is driving me mad. I want to use the web browser and not the CLI for everything. it has a BVI1 IP as well as an Ethernet address.
I lost my internet connection icon in windows 7. When connected, the network notification and icon appears at the taskbar and displays how many bar signal the network has and it was working even earlier this afternoon here. I just used my wired connection for a short time and as i stopped using it then i discovered the wireless connection bar signal is lost, all for me to see a ' Round Star' in the bar side of my internet icon. Am connected to the internet but i can't my connection signal and i tried to restore my computer but after i do that i get a dialog say 'The system restore did not completely succesfully because an anti-virus is running on this computer and has prevented it from changing the settings, turn off anti-virus ans try again' but i have no anti-virus program on my PC.
In my wireless table of who is connected to the wireless network there are 3 different mac addresses displaying when there is only two computers in the house(its not an outsider, it only shows when the other PC turns on), 2 of them have the same computer name but are connected at different IP addresses(192.168.1.101,192.168.1.102). Side Note:[The 2 PCs in the house were bought at the same time and the mac addresses are similar, but the third is different] Now that i have installed ubuntu i can really see what's going on with my ports, i notice that the mac address, that is not similar to my PC and the 'other pc', is poking around at my ports whenever the 'other PC' is turned on.
I have a desktop and bought a wireless adapter to hook up to my apartment complex's wireless network through cox. We have had no connection issues for several weeks.Randomly, both IE and Firefox stopped displaying webpages. Firefox displays the message "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."Our apartment complex has tech support, so I called him and we went over so many things. The issue, as he says, is that when I do an ipconfig /release, I SHOULD be showing, under my wireless adapter, the ivp4 address as 0.0.0.0. When I do the release, it shows no ivp4 address, period. It shows I have, and am connected to, the internet and the connection. My apartment complex has 5 different wireless connections I can try, and all result in the same problem. I am able to ping google, yahoo, etc, but when I try to ping my apartment complex's wireless connection (their router) it fails.
Uninstalling and reinstalling the wireless adapter and software, system restore, reinstalling windows, restarting the WAN service under services.smc, unchecking ivp6 under my wireless adapter properties. I have tried disabling McAfee and Windows Firewall. I have no idea what else I can do.I also should note that I have 2 computers of the exact same model, and both present this same exact problem when I connect the wireless adapter to it, so it leads me to believe it is something to do either with the adapter or something with the connection from the adapter to the router. (I can connect to the wireless connection but not to the router itself to login to my complex's internet agreement page.)I have Windows 7 32-bit. I was in the process of signing up for Netflix when this happened, and did not download anything.
I have 2 cat3524xl's and a 3550. I recently did something to the IOS that makes the switch not display any output to the console port. Not sure what I did but even doing the reset as instructed in the Cisco docs by holding the mode button foe 2 seconds after boot. I get the flashing green light but still no output. All POST tests pass according to lights so I tried different cables and all baud rates with no change. I hoocked switches back up in lab and can see them in CDP neibors but do not know how to access them from there as they have no IP assigned to them. Remember this is two of them with exact same issue.
I am running LMS 4.1 and have an issue with Inventory: I have a stack of four 3750 switches, but only two of them are showing up in CiscoView. If I right-click - Topology - Device Report ; I see all four switches. The switches are standard 3750 switches and should be included in the Device Packages for CiscoView
Also if I go Reports - Detailed Device ; I see the same two devices show up under Module Information. However when I go to Reports - Device Attributes ; I see all four devices correctly displayed.
I have tried and deleted and added the stack in CiscoPrime, but with same result.
I've been having some problems with the Monitor Clients menu on a WCS 7.0 server, for instance if I go there and display the detected clients on the last 24 hours I get a different set of clients than if I go and generate a report of unique clients for the last day on the report menu. Is this normal?, shouldn't both reports get the data from the same place and give the same result?.
I moved 1242 access point to my new buliding which i have 5508 wlc and 3500 acess point are working. i connected 1242 ap in network it got registered and download new ios and downlaoded the configuration and working fine. But i open the WLC tha 1242 ap are not visible in ap list.
Whenever I access a file through HTTP, it seems to require that I completely load the file before it will display.
1) For large images, this will result in the whole thing taking some time to load before displaying in its entirety, unlike the usual progressive rendering.
2) For file downloads, this will result in the file being downloaded only after being cached, appearing only when the whole file has finished downloading, unlike the usual process where it can be seen as a progress bar in the browser's download window (for some reason, FTP downloading seems to work normally)
3) For internet streaming video, this means the video will not display until the whole video has been buffered (i.e. will not play until fully loaded)
1) I am on a home network. Other computers (including my old one) do not exhibit similar problems 2) Using Firefox 9.01 3) Win 7 SP1 4) Realtek PCIe GBE controller
I'm configuring a console server for configuring remote devices. This is working well except for the fact that if a target device is in ROMMON mode, the console server refuses to displays the target device console. It does open the connection but the ROMMON prompt is not shown on the console server . This is essential for this device as we will need to use it to reset passwords remotely and thus need to be able to access ROMMON mode from the console server.
Parts used are a 2951 router and a HWIC-8A serial card. Posted my config below:
I've got an issue with SNMP and netflow tools. They are displaying different data for the same (sub)interfaces.I've got metroethernet link which connects root A (Cisco 7606, 12.2(18)SXF8) and root B (Cisco 2811, 12.3(11)TS). MPLS is configured on the link (behind root B there is no more MPLS). I'm attaching root configurations (I've ommited parts of config).Interfaces are:
Root A - gi2/6.2144 Root B - fa0/1
I've configured SNMP and netflow on both devices. I'm using two SNMP tools (CA Spectrum and eHealth) and two netflow tools (CA NetQoS Reporter Analyzer and Fluke Networks NetFlow Tracker) to collect the data. SNMP tools show the same info for defined (sub)interface.Netflow tools also show the same info for defined (sub)interface. I'm attaching reports from one SNMP tool and one netflow tool for the same time period.
1. Looking at SNMP tool, it can be seen quite amount of that data in both in and out direction. 2. Looking at netflow tool, it can be seen quite amount of that data in out direction, while in direction shows small amount of data.
I'm aware that Cisco has difficulties with SNMP counters on subinterfaces. I'm also aware that MPLS netflow has its own difficulties.Root B netflow configuration is quite simple as it has just 2 interfaces to configure netflow on (Fa0/0 and Fa0/1). So I would guess SNMP and netflow data should match, but they don't. When you look at SNMP tool reports for roots A and B, it can be seen that traffic volume is practically mirrored.
So whenever i plug in my computers with an ethernet cord to my router i get an older, different ssid name displayed in local area connections instead of the one being displayed on the wireless network. For one computer it displays the old ssid name 3011, with a 2 right next to it (i think thats because i had another router with the same name), i changed the ssid twice, but when i plug it into the computer it still displays 3011 2. The other computer displays the first newer ssid but not the official one listed on the wireless network. Either way neither of my computers display the name i have as the ssid when plugged into the router with a cord. do i need to do something else so the names match? i reset the router and updated the firmware before writing this, it didnt do anything. i have windows 7 business for both machines.
I have Windows 7 Home Premium on a Dell Inspiron N5010.
I have had this problem for several weeks, and have searched all over to find a solution (tried them all, but none have fixed it). I have a good wireless internet connection, and sometimes I use ethernet. Despite having such connections, my wireless internet icon doesn't change, as it seems to keep getting stuck on the icon which shows a red x over the ethernet image.
It will show the blue loading ring with the bars as it searches for a wireless connection for a little bit, but then it goes to the same, incorrect icon, even though when I put the cursor over the icon it says "Internet Access".
So far, I've tried deleting the Icon Cache and rebooting, as it was suggested that it could be potentially corrupted, but the internet icon stays the same. I have also tried searching for a driver that could be potentially related to the issue and uninstalling it, but it didn't work. The red x went away for a moment, being replaced by a loading blue ring, but then the red x returned (same icon image).
Is there a specific driver for the icon itself? I know I had to uninstall a driver then reboot to get my battery icon back after it mysteriously disappeared. I also have tried deactivating/reactivating my wireless connection by hitting the button, but it doesn't change.
Currently my home network is being switched via TrendNet TEGs80G unmanaged gig switches. I have been using them for about a year now with no issues. As my home network becomes more advanced, I recently just added a Cisco ASA5505, I am thinking about swapping those unmanaged devices, 4 of them, to managed. I was looking at the Cisco SG300-10 for upstairs, and a 16 port variant for my main core. These devices do not support full Cisco IOS cli, but they are manageable with a rich feature set nonetheless. My question is, should I swap the unmanaged devices with the more expensive Cisco devices, or just keep what works and save the money until I really need to spend it. As previously stated, my home LAN works just fine as it is, however my WiFi, NTV550s, server and workstations are all on the same network. Probably not the most secure but it is what it is without VLAN support.
I have installed my new E4200 and it works beautifully. I have several wirelss adapters and a few wired connections through powerline adapters. I also have a second VPN router attached to the 4200.I can see the wireless connected devices with the associated IP addresses. If I plug a laptop directly into the Cisco, I can of course see it.However, I can see none of the devices attatched to the powerline devices? I have a securty cam connected via the powerline and want to know the IP address. I checked with cisco technical support via chat and they said it is impossible. I have used 2 previous routers with the same configuration and can see all devices.
All of a sudden my laptop, android phone and blu ray player (all wireless devices) can't communicate with my wired devices (marantz receiver and samsung tv). Everything still connects to the internet independently but i can't for instance play music from my wireless laptop to my wired marantz receiver. I had no trouble with this last week and didn't change anything (that I'm aware of) I did get Verizon to switch out my router but it didn't solve anything. My wife's computer also cannot connect to wired devices. Lastly, if I connect my laptop with via ethernet cable it sees wired devices fine. I tried shutting off windows firewall but didn't work. I have no other firewall/virus software installed. I can ping to all devices (wired and wireless) from my laptop.
I have installed LMS. Then I have configured Default Credentional Set. Then start discovery with cdp and arp modules. LMS found my devices, 2 of them are reachable but other unreacheble. All snmp settings on the devices are the same. I test from LMS connectivity, it works great. Then checked snmp from pc (C:Program Files (x86)CSCOpxobjectsjtin) all tools snmpset and snmp walk works corretly and can get data. How make LMS to get data from devices ?
I've added several switches and one WLC to my new NCS Prime box. I don't see them in the display. If I try to readd one, it says it already exists. What am I missing?
I got a VPN request form from one of our partners. On my side I have one ASA 5520 running 8.0(3) On their form, It says that their endpoints are two boxes, sitting on different cities, It also says that there is only one encryption domain, (actually just one IP) that I need to speficy on the VPN setting. It looks like they mean that you could access the same encryption domain from any of the two Boxes in different cities. This is strange to me, since every time I have set up VPN before, each endpoint has their own encryption domains.I never seen two enpoints with the same encryption domain behind, so Im confused wether it might be a mistake on their part, or this is expected.
I am trying to add some APC UPS Devices into CiscoWorks LMS 4.1. For example i have three APC Smart UPS 5000 RT RMXLI with management cards AP9619, i have chosen Device Type as "Smart-UPS RT 5000 XL" in Nom-Cisco Devices list, but when i am creating Invetory collection job, i`m getting status failed for this devices and the error is: "RICS0001:Internal Error, unable to process the collected data from the device"
I have LMS 4.0 server installed without any problems on windows server Enterprise edition service pack 2 then i enabled SNMP on cisco switches and routers by the following commands [code] But when i tried to discover cisco devices and after trying many times theres no result so correct commands required to be enabled on cisco devices.
I recently deleted some devices from LMS. Now, when I run a device credential report, I get the following for the devices that were deleted. Device has been deleted, or is not managed by LMS.
Have a problem with LMS 4.0.1 and DFM. In DFM no of the devices leaves the questioned state. Trying to rediscover them starts a process that ends after 20% completion every time. I've put on some debuging, but that does not enable more error messages.Only thing i find is in the log file [code] As I've encoded this to be the SNMP engine ID, which on the device is. [code]
i have added the devices which is not discovered by LMS 4.2 manualy however it seems unconnected according the physical topolgy even though it has snmp community configured , how to add the connection from this device according to physical connectivity of the device.
I have Cisco LMS 4.0, I have a few tasks which are scheduler every friday and they failed last week. This morning I would like to restart them but I cannon see the devices in my Groups.Under Inventory -> Manage Device State -> User Definied Groups -> I can see my groups but they are empty!I restarted the server and crmdmgtd service but it's not better.
When i run a discovery to it lists the new devices and states that the devices are reachable. If i do a search in device management i see the device with its listed ip and device info.
As soon as i search for the device in DFM after manually adding it i get the following message (see attached)I get the same message on both platforms for different devices.I have tried to add it both manually and automatically.
I am installing LMS 4.0 in my site newly I have nearly 1000 devices in network .When i had tried the autodiscovery mode using ping sweep method the devices are getting discovered but showing us unreacheable . All the devices are going under unreacheable no devices are getting added to the DCR .SNMP settings are configured correctly.
whether the autodiscovery will add the devices to DCR or i need to add the devices manually. As per my requierement i need to configure below things , is it possible to configure the same
1)LMS as SYSLOG server 2)LMS should send EMAIL notification if device goes down , interfaces goes down , memory / cpu goes high ,switch module goes down 3)Need to know if cisco releases new device packages how we will update to the cisco works .
after upgrading from Prime LMS 4.1 to 4.2 (Windows version) the "All Devices" group and all the other system defined groups are empty.
The "Inventory dashboard" shows 397 reachable devices which is correct. I can access the devices when I type the name into the search field in the upper right corner of the LMS page.
When I open a device selector (e.g. from the "Device Management" tab) all system defined groups are empty.
When I make a new user defined group with the definition "IP address contains '1'" I get a group with all devices.
