Cisco :: LMS 4.0 How To Add Devices In DCR And Set SMTP Server
Jan 20, 2012
I just installed LMS 4.0 on OS Window 2008 R2. Right now, I know how to add devices in DCR and set SMTP server. My question is
1. I want LMS to send an alert email when Coreswitch is down how to do that ?
2. I want LMS to send an alert email when interface is down (not all interface but specify one) how to do that ?
3. I want to created a custom portlet that monitor only one device and specify interface on it how to do that ?
I'm trying to change the IP address of the smtp server on cisco LMS 3.2.1;I have changed the IP on the GUi and when it didn't work, in the regdaemon. xml file, but it did not work too;When I capture packets from the LMS, it still sends emails to the old IP;
I need to configure my ASA 5520 version 7.3 firewall to translate our SMTP server residing in local LAN to use different IP address from the outside interface which is used by all other computers to access Internet. Under NAT section, I have NATted this internal SMTP server with different IP address(eg x.x.x.1) and also translated the remaining IP addresses in the LAN to the outside interface(eg x.x.x.2)
my problem is, Whenever i check the header for message coming from the smtp server it shows that, the SMTP server is also translated by using the same outside interface public ip address(i.e x.x.x.2) which is used by other client machine to access internet instead of the x.x.x.1. How I can get my SMTP server to use separate IP and avoid to be blacklisted by some domain.

I am deploying a Cisco 1841 in place of our basic DSL router.I have an ADSL WIC and FA0/0 connected to our LAN.LAN IP ADDRESS range is 192.168.1. 0/ 24 I have dynamic and static NAT configured. At this point although I have ACL's configured I have NOT implemented them as yet for the following reason. I am unable to recieve inbound SMTP traffic - now know my MX records are correct as this all owrks happily on our basic DSL router. I can send external emails no problem and all internal email works fine. [code] I am in the process of defaulting the router and programming the barbones to get the link working and see if inbound SMTP works then start building the blocks again.
Using an ASA5505, have 1 static outside address, want to access an inside SBS-Server on SMTP, RDP (3389), HTTPS and port 987
Have configured network object nat rules using the asdm, SMTP works (I can telnet to the server on port 25 from outside), however for some reason I can not telnet inside and out on port 25, so outgoing mail does not work. RDP does not seem to work from outside, 987 I havent tested from outside. When I try to create a network object nat rule for https I get this message from the ASA:
I've got some problem with my Mail Server since I've migrated to an ASA5510.Actually the server is in a DMZ with a private Ip ( 10.x.x.2) and it is translated to a Public IP ( 194.x.x.65).I use these configuration :
I can send email though my yahoo account (which is hard wired to my router) and I can access the internet through my wireless device (iPhone 3GS) but I can not send email through my wirless device. I keep getting a message stating it can't reach the smtp server.
I have an ASA 5510, one public IP address on my outside interface, an internal email server and a private network.I would like...
1: Users on my private network to be able to access the internet (PAT them to external outside address) 2: Email to be delivered to my MX (my single public IP address translated back to my internal email server.
i.e. can I share my single public IP address to serve translation in both directions (private users surfing the Internet (in-to-out) and an outside to inside NAT for email) ?
Email (MX) = 1.2.3.4 Public (outside) address = 1.2.3.4 Email server internal = 10.1.2.3 Internal private subnet for users = 10.0.0.0/8
I have an E1500 N300 Router, I've had it for 3 or 4 weeks now. Ever since I've had it, I can no longer send e-mails out with Eudora nor Outlook. I've tried using about 3 different SMTP's just to verify that it wasn't a server issue. I tried Port Forwarding in the router settings. I selected SMTP and POP3 and checked Enable on both, then save changes. But they don't appear to be taking, as when I go back in and try to set them again, it let's me and doesn't give me a Port Overlap warning. I've been told that I shouldn't need to mess with Port Forwarding at all, I just need to go into the Firewall settings and open up the SMTP, POP3, and IMAP ports. However, I don't see any settings in my Router settings to allow this, aside from Port Forwarding and it's not actually saving the changes. I will admit, I'm not all that great with this stuff, and this is the first time I've had any issues with a Router stopping me from E-mailing.
I will be connected to the internet and then it seems at random i will lose connection. It says Im still connected to the network and I have 5 bars however it says im not connected to the internet. When I trouble shoot the connection it says that I cannot connect to the primary DNS server. This is occurring on all devices wired and wireless that are connected to this network. I have updated the firmware on my wireless router but not on my modem since COX has to do that.
I am not sure what I am trying to do is possible, so I thought I would pose the question on here. In ACS 5.3, I would like to use an RSA server and AD to authenticate my network devices. So when I log into a router or switch I would enter my AD username, be prompted for my RSA token, then when I enable be prompted for my AD password, or visa versa. how to write an access policy to achive this?
I have a ACS 4.2 under windows, I setuped it to authenticate routers by RADIUS and TACACS+ protocols. now I have some devices whitch know only LDAP protocol. How can setup ACS as a ldap server to authenticate those devices?>
In my organization we have several 2950T that conected each other. We have 4 floor with each floor have 1 sw except 4th flr have 3 sw.
Main server, apps, db ( 15 units) connected to core sw at 4th flr. Currently the problem is others devices can't connected to the server at core sw. Test ping and the network to core sw is intermittent problem. When ping 100 times only 30 reply. After 10 minutes the connection restored. Ping 100 times successful. It will not having problem again until the next day. This already happen 3 days. Any command for me to use to check if port or the switch having problem? Any log i can collect
I'm using a router 877 at home and i really need to check out what this router do during the day. So some time ago i configured it using some eem actions and sending to me email, without any problems. Yesterday I changed my internet provider and now i need to use smtp autheticantion to send emails.
I read about how to authenticate, like username:password@host and also made a fast search here, without solve my problem. I need to put as username the email of the provider like: mouse@host.com:mypassword@smtpserveraddress.com. So, i want to know if someone had the same problem and solved it. Of course i couldn't use @ two times or eem would think that host.com is my smtp server! And right now is going in this way!
Currently my home network is being switched via TrendNet TEGs80G unmanaged gig switches. I have been using them for about a year now with no issues. As my home network becomes more advanced, I recently just added a Cisco ASA5505, I am thinking about swapping those unmanaged devices, 4 of them, to managed. I was looking at the Cisco SG300-10 for upstairs, and a 16 port variant for my main core. These devices do not support full Cisco IOS cli, but they are manageable with a rich feature set nonetheless. My question is, should I swap the unmanaged devices with the more expensive Cisco devices, or just keep what works and save the money until I really need to spend it. As previously stated, my home LAN works just fine as it is, however my WiFi, NTV550s, server and workstations are all on the same network. Probably not the most secure but it is what it is without VLAN support.
We have installed the Cisco Prime LMS 4.1 in our production environment. We have configured SMTP settings, but unable to find where we can configure username and password for SMTP authentication. It's only giving a option to enter email address without any authentication parameters.
This is my first post in CSC. I have two issues with ASA 5505. I have configured ASA to use Easy vpn (ASA as RA server). Users are able to connect to vpn with out any issue and there is no diconnections with VPN. But when the users are trying to RDP to server it connects and disconnect as soon as login. some time it connect for 2 mins then it fades out for some time then it reconnects again. I guess I have give correct access-lists. Please find the Running configuration in the below.
2). we have a Email server in DMZ zone and it users are able to connect to the email server and they can see the emails. But when they try to send any emails it just stuck in the email server queue and does not deliver to the destination.
ASA Version 7.2(3) ! ! interface Vlan1 nameif inside security-level 100 ip address intinside 255.255.255.0
Is it possibe to change SMTP port from 25 to any other in LMS..? Bcoz in scenario where we keep SMTP server to flow on some different port rather default port 25. So our LMS also should communicate in the new specified port to send DFM Alerts.
I have installed my new E4200 and it works beautifully. I have several wirelss adapters and a few wired connections through powerline adapters. I also have a second VPN router attached to the 4200.I can see the wireless connected devices with the associated IP addresses. If I plug a laptop directly into the Cisco, I can of course see it.However, I can see none of the devices attatched to the powerline devices? I have a securty cam connected via the powerline and want to know the IP address. I checked with cisco technical support via chat and they said it is impossible. I have used 2 previous routers with the same configuration and can see all devices.
I'm trying to connect to an SMTP server using telnet via putty. Not just well known domains such as bigstring, aol, gmail, hotmail etc but also endless amount of not known or not popular ones. The problem is that although nmap says that port 25 is open, I can not establish any connection to ANY SMTP server (it just timeouts).I have tried disabling my firewall and using a proxy, but it still doesn't connect and now I've ran out of ideas. I also tried to disable my avast as well as legally used ip switcher program to make sure the problem is totally independent from my ISP.
I have installed some 3rd party software for email messaging and it requires SMTP details. I hardly even know what SMTP is. Via google I found one it has something to do with server for sending email messages but I don't want to use SMTP of my ISP which is (referring to smtp and not isp) the one that is being used in microsoft outlook program. But the 3rd party software is different one. It requires FIVE (5) datas and I have no idea how do I find them out:
email server name password username port
I have been searching for some smtp details what to type with the following requirements:
- smtp must be free to have and use details - working one - as fast as possible - no particular limits
The program also offers to set up ''in-build'' smtp server. If I choose this it works but the message cannot be sent for unknown reason. I don't have firewall and I double checked nothing is wrong with avast antivirus. So I will have to get the smtp details with mentoined four requirements. Don't even know where to search. I found some freeware smtp (or virtual smtp) applications but I need 5 datas to type in and not an application. No idea where to get them. I tried gmal [URL] but its not working, been trying also different ports.
I have an ASA 5500 Firewall. I need to figure out how to log all events using Port 25 to determine if there are any rogue devices on our network. I was trying to figure out how to do this via the Real-Time Monitoring (filter) but have had no success.
We have a cisco 800 series router between the internal network and the WAN. the problem is we are unable to receive some of our mail due to dropped packets by our router. the conversation between the two servers stops at the point were our server responds with the command 250 2.1.5 user@mydomain.com | 354 Start mail input; end with . i was able to trace the packet, using Packet Export, on the internal interface but not on the external interface. Also i have noticed that the external interface has about 160,000 unknown protocol drops while the internal interface has 0.
Is there anyway to find out way the external interface is dropping the packets.
Most examples of NAT translation using an ASA 8.4 are based on servers within a DMZ. In my case it's not because the mailserver also functions as an data and Active Directory server for my local domain. If tried to config the ASA for a while now and throw it in the corner for a couple of months out of frustration. Now I got some time left during christmas break I decided to start again. My purpose is to NAT SMTP / POP traffic from the internet, trough the ASA to my (inside) server. This is what I got so far. With this config I'm unable to telnet the inside server (192.168.1.10) from a remote location.
I can ping 192.168.1.10 from the ASA CLI. I can Ping DNS 4.2.2.2 from the CLI (internet access). I can Telnet the server from the inside LAN, using: telnet 192.168.1.10 25.But I can't Telnet from an outside location using: Telnet 95.*.*.218 25 Because my server is on the Inside interface (diffenrent subnet) do I need an additional route?
I have a ASA 5510 (ver 8.4) and I have been all over the support sites looking for what I am doing wrong. I have a sanitized cut n paste of the OBJECT, NAT, ACCESS-LIST and Packet Tracer output and it keeps failing on the NAT with a rpf-check. Once i get the SMTP flowing I have to open up HTTP and HTTPS to one of the servers also.
Here it is:
RVGW# sh run object object network WiFi subnet 172.17.100.0 255.255.255.0
Below is the interesting part of my config. I have static NAT configured and working inbound for the Exchange Server and the Barracuda, however outbound traffic from those hosts comes out as the interface IP. Thoughts? I've tried a number of things (outside, inside), etc.
I'm new to ASA's and PIX units. I've setup a few VPN's now but know next to nothing about logging on these units. I read the config guide for the PIX, but cannot figure out how to get a log of incoming SMTP traffic going on the console.Do I need to use a SYSLOG server? I can probably set one up on my laptop.
We are running ISP and now a days we have many spam in our network, we want block the SMTP port 25 block on Cisco router 7200. So we can block the spam in our network.
