Cisco Infrastructure :: Temperature Status From 2960 Switch Using SNMP Not Working

Sep 18, 2012

WS-C2960G-24TC-L   12.2(25)SEE3            C2960-LANBASE-M

I would like to get the temperature status from this 2960 switch (and several other models. Normally this OID should be:.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3.1.6 But it does not return anything.

The termperature status can be found from the command line by running:"sh env temp" This reports back ok, so I assume there is a temperate gauge in the switch.

This oid is part of the "CISCO-ENVMON-MIB" mib and accouding to the Cisco MIB selector it is supported on my switch and IOS - 12.2(25).

(Another thing I woudl like to monitor and should be supported is the fan status oid (.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.4.1.3). That doesn't return anything either.

What do I need to do to get the temperature environment status from SNMP query?

Cisco Infrastructure :: Nexus 5000 SNMP - Limit Access To OIDs?

Dec 12, 2011

What is the correct way to create an SNMP user on a Nexus 5k Switches and limit the read/write access to some OIDs?I have been searching for hours for configuration examples or guides, but i had no luck.I guess a role has to be created, containing rules for some feature, but the list of features doesn't contain anything about snmp. This is my configuration on catalyst switches and i'd like to achieve the same result on the Nexus 5k:

Utility To Monitor A Network Status?

Jun 8, 2011

The internet connection at our business goes down overnight, every night. We then have to turn off the router and turn it back on. It is not the fault of the ISP, but some setting somewhere, either in the router (SG 310 Snapgear) or in a particular program being accessed each night. Fact is, for the time being we are just trying to find out the precise time when this happens, so we can find out a reason. Is there a utility that can monitor the status and tell you at what exact point it stopped?

requesting information via SNMP from my two stacked C3750X, running IOS 12.2(55)RE5. The stack is up and running and everything is just fine. There are three PowerSupplies installed with a PowerStack, also running like expectet. My problem ist to get the status-information about the chassis-fans. I couldn't find any information about the OID and the search results only in some non-useful information about the MIBs from Cisco which delivers only three information about installed fans (and fan-containers), so I guess these are the information about the fans included within the powersupply?! The chassis-fans are installed and the LEDs are green for all four fan-mounts, up and running.

Cisco :: 3560-E SNMP To Get Spanning-tree Status

Jan 16, 2012

I need to implement a "Spanning Tree Status" view on my NMS and I would like to use SNMP. I'm running Rapid Per-VLAN Spanning Tree Protocol on 3560-E (WS-C3560E-24TD) with IOS 12.2(55)SE.Using the ciscoStpExtensionsMIB MIB (CISCO-STP-EXTENSIONS-MIB) I see the stpxRSTPPortRoleTable table, which contains the stpxRSTPPortRoleValue value, and I think it could be fine for my job.The problem is that this table uses an index based on the standard dot1dBridge.1.4 table (dot1dBasePortTable) that does not report some interfaces: [code]I think the dot1dBasePortTable does not include those interfaces (5, 7, 8) where I do not run standard STP, but I need the dot1dBasePortEntry entries because I have to use them in order to get the interface ID (values like 10109, 10110, 10111).

Cisco Firewall :: NAT Configuration In 8.4 Nexus 5000

Mar 23, 2011

i have a use-case in which we need to firewall some of the security-sensitive-vlans to the ASA. In other words, there are few vlans that have their SVIs on the N5k (Layer-3 enabled) which talk to each other and there are some which have the layer-3 on the ASA. The ASA has sub-interfaces for those vlans. The N5k-sw and the ASA are interconnected on the same 1 physical link with a sub-interface on both ( /30) and the ASA is injecting default route to it in OSPF. They are advertising all of their networks in OSPF. I see all the routes in them. (Attached pic),My issue is: I am unable to ping the other sub-interface on the ASA from the N5k. (If you check the attached diagram, i cannot ping 20.1.1.1 from the N5k, although i can reach my next-hop 10.1.1.2) I have made the security-level to 100 for the subinterfaces and the physical interface on the ASA, also have allowed ip,icmps in the ACLs on the sub-interfaces of vlan 10 and 20 in both directions.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: Nexus 5000 Tacacs

Oct 8, 2012

I have a little problem. My customer is using TACP-PLUS ALPHA (F4.0.3.alpha.v9). Well, the same user than have access to another Cisco equipment, with user test1 by sample, can configure anything in the equipment. But in the nexus 5000, el command "show user-account" indicate just the "network-operator" role. Well, I patch this situation with the next commands:

aaa authorization config-commands default group TACSERVER local
aaa authorization commands default group TACSERVER local

Well, when I do a telnet into the nexus, I can shut the interfaces, config and anything. But, when I ingress by console, I can not to configure the interfaces.I understand that the Nexus 5000 the Tacacs configuration is global for VTY and Console (different in the Cisco equipment Routers by sample).

Cisco :: 3925 H.323 Monitor Via SNMP (Solarwinds)

Apr 9, 2013

Monitoring H.323?  I've got a 3925 running15.1(3)T with 9 PRI's.  Because of our volume, syslogging is not the desired solution.  We want something that we can potentially graph over an 8 hour period, so while the RTMT is accurate, either it won't store the data for 8 hours, or we aren't using it correctly (plus, mgmt may want access to the stats/graphs, and we're not keen on granting them access).  So far, we've used: [code] None of these seem to accurately portray utilization.  cdsp Active Channels seems to get the closest, so perhaps I have to tweak it a little bit, but so far, nothing accurate.
