I have load CISCO-ENVMON-MIB and initiate walk in it but unable to find OID of Cisco 2960 temperature monitor. I have search over net and found .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3.1.3.1 for temperature but this OID is not responding in this mib.

I would like to get the temperature status from this 2960 switch (and several other models. Normally this OID should be:.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3.1.6 But it does not return anything.
The termperature status can be found from the command line by running:"sh env temp" This reports back ok, so I assume there is a temperate gauge in the switch.
This oid is part of the "CISCO-ENVMON-MIB" mib and accouding to the Cisco MIB selector it is supported on my switch and IOS - 12.2(25).
(Another thing I woudl like to monitor and should be supported is the fan status oid (.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.4.1.3). That doesn't return anything either.
What do I need to do to get the temperature environment status from SNMP query?
i am trying to monitor some UPS equipment,for that i am using a cisco 2960 switch and when the UPS is down it sends a L1 loop.when the switch detects the loop the int in which the UPS is conected to will get a link and go up.now my problem is this, as you probeblly know the switch has a protocol which protects it from getting loops and cuasing all kinds of problems.i need to remove this protocol and allow the switch to get L1 loops?
P.si have tryed to use UDLD, KEEPALIVE, BPDU guard, down-when-looped and errdisable commands with no success?

setting up a 2504 on a 2960 switch. The management interface is up and pingable, and from the WLC we can ping vlan 20 (our wireless client vlan) gateway. However, when we create the vlan20 interface on the WLC, give it a valid address and assign it to a port, we can no longer ping the vlan 20 gateway from the wlc, nor can we ping the vlan20 interface from a PC. The issue I am facing most of the PC are getting IP addresses through DHCP server and very few 5 or 6 PC’s out are not getting the IP from DHCP server.If I switch of the switch and switch on the issue is resolved for those and it will raise for some other PC’s.

But i am not able to ping the device from 2960 switch alone. I suspected and checked the arp table and it was showing as incomplete. I created the manual arp entry and tried pinging but no luck.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a set-up with multiple C2960 and C3750 switches. All these devices are being managed remotely. So basically I login to C2901, which is used as a Terminal Server, and reverse SSH to the console of each device. That's - I have assigned an IP to each port of the terminal server so that I can SSH directly to the desired device through via the mapped IP.
Now, recently I had to restart couple of switches - one C2960 and C3750. I initiated the reboot via console connection remotely. I could see the device logs for some time and then the logs stopped and there was no reaction from the console irrespective of any command I tried to enter.
I tried resetting the line on the terminal server, but that didn't work.
Now when I try to SSH the IP mapped to console of that particular device - i dont get any login prompt and there is no effect on device after giving any command. Although i can see the logs on the console session - but cant do anything.
I have a second way of connecting the device via inband- management, and checked the device config found it correct. It is same as other devices which are working correctly.
Both C3750 and C2960 are behaving exactly same - can see logs on console but see effect of even pressing enter - not getting login prompt as well.
im trying to find avilable netwoks but when i try it says non can be found and i cant connect Wirless .

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have my downstairs PC (Windows Vista 64 bit) conncted to a Belkin router. model F5D7632-4. This works without any problems.Upstairs, my son has a PC (Windows XP) that connects via a Belkin USB G Network Adapter, model F5D7050, version 4.000uk. This worked perfectly, too.He has just got a new PC which I have bought from a friend. My friend used the tower of a previous PC my son had, which had died about 4 years back when the PSU blew and took everything out with it, and fitted the motherboard, graphics card, HDD, RAM etc etc (it uses Windows 7).
I downloaded the latest drivers from the Belkin site, installed them, but for the life of me, the new PC will not detect the network connection. At all. It doesn't find anything.So, I unplugged my PC from the router, and plugged the new PC into it. Unsurpisingly, it connected to the net without any problems. The next thing I did was to reconnect my PC to the router, and try my son's new PC wirelessly again with the Network Adaptor, in the same room. Again, it just doesn't find a network at all.The PC detects the Adapter being plugged in and out, and the light is on on it. I even tried his old PC with the Adapter, and that still finds the network perfectly.
I was on the phone to Belkin for 35 mins yesterday, and they went through everything, to no avail. They think the USB slots may be faulty, even though the PC knows when i'm plugging things into them.
I have a laptop that won't find any networks, it did work a few days ago now it's just randomly stopped.Things I've tried;
-Changing the wireless to different channels.
-System restore to a few days before.
-Check and restarted the wzc serice mutiple times.
-Check the drivers are ok.
Recently, I have found out that my laptop is unable to find any networks. I started using what I believe to be an ethernet cable to connect my laptop to the internet because it was faster than wireless. But when I removed the cable and try to connect wirelessly, the computer states that there are no wireless networks in range. I know the wireless adapter is broadcasting because my sister can connect wirelessly to the internet. My WiFi is on, but I can't find any networks.

I quickly reversed this but now for some reason, all the wireless networks that are around me cannot be picked up on my Phillips Freevents Windows XP.it was able to pick up two wireless connections and now, not even a trace of one. The other laptops in the house can pick up the wireless connections so I know its working.The internet works when the box is connected to the computer but I need the box in another room so wireless is essential.

We have just replaced some 2800 routers for 3945's and the NMS server initially complained about the new router CPU temperature being too high. Compared to the 2800 the CPU temperature is much hotter - 50 degrees celcius as opposed to 20-smothing degrees. I have searched but can't find what are considered 'normal'?

I am testing VPN tunnels in a lab. I have the following (simple) setup:
-one ASA5505 has an "inside" interface with address 192.16.99.40/24 and an "outside" interface with address 205.192.0.2/24
-one computer with address 192.16.99.1/24 ("Client") is connected to the "inside" interface
-one ASA5510 has an "inside" interface with address 192.0.99.40/24 and an "outside" interface with address 205.192.0.1/24
-one computer with address 192.0.99.1/24 ("Server") is connected to the "inside" interface
-both "outside" interfaces are connected through a layer 2 switch
I had a VPN tunnel between them using "Main mode", and that worked without a problem.But in my target system, the ASA5505 will be connected to a router with a dynamic IP address, and so I need to use "Aggressive mode", where the ASA5510 will have a static address on the "outside" interface. The ASA5505 will therefore initiate the VPN session.
I am using the ASDM, by the way.I have the VPN tunnel established, but I am unable to ping from either side.When I ping the Server from the Client, the ASA5505 gives me the expected "Built/Teardown ICMP connection...", but the ASA5510 says "IKE Initiator unable to find policy: Intf inside, Src: 192.0.99.1, Dst: 192.16.99.1". So the ping makes it to the Server, but the reply can't find its way back out.When I ping the client from the Server, I get the same message on the ASA5510: "IKE Initiator unable to find policy: Intfc inside, Src: 192.0.99.1, Dst: 192.16.99.1".I attach the configuration on the ASA5510.
My computer won't access the internet. I have wireless and can get online, but my computer can't find my ip address???
