View 1 RepliesI have on my ethernet linux box, that is responsible for IPv6. This box is configured as IPv6 gateway from my network and it also sends RA to the network. All devices on ethernet network can work on IPv6 without problem. Clients, that are connected to WiFi, they just receive the RA from this box -> this packet is sended over WRVS4400N to the wifi network. But all other traffic do not pass the WRVS4400N, so the wifi client is not able to ping the IPv6 gateway. There is no problem on IPv4, there the wifi client is able to communicate with any ethernet device.I have tested WRVS4400N setting "ipv4 only". If I switch on "ipv4 and ipv6", than all devices will get some additional IPv6 adresses and the communication from WiFi client to IPv6 router is not working again. How to configure the WRVS4400N to bridge all IPv6 traffic between WiFi and ethernet?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have an office with about 10 PCs, and several other network devices (smartphones, printers, etc). Some PCs and printers are wired, some are not. About two weeks ago, some (6) of the wireless devices lost connectivity. Since then, some (4) of the devices have also recovered normal connectivity.
As of right now, there are two computers, a laptop and a desktop, that cannot use the wireless network. They see the wireless network, connect to it, receive an IP via DHCP properly, have correct DNS servers listed in ipconfig, but they can't ping the router, use the intranet, or internet.
here comes the incident description: WRVS4400N breaks established VPN session if I am trying to connect to any LAN host via HTTPS.

I have Comcast, and as long as my modem and router support IPv6, with the router also supporting DHCPv6-PD to get the /64 prefix from comcast.
I now have an RV180W so this is not an issue for me, but my father is inheriting the WRVS4400N from me and he is also on Comcast.
My internet is really slow and i keep getting disconnected. the ipv6 box says local only. when i uncheck it it goes to limited my pc is running vista home premium

I have upgrade the firmware on several RV082 (and RV042) model routers, and all of them have had subsequent WAN connectivity loss. The WAN works for a while, then stops working until the router is restarted, then fails shortly thereafter. I would assume it was some configuration corruption on incompatibility with the upgrade, but the symptom has been universal. EVERY 2.x upgrade I've made to a RV082 or RV042 router has exhibited this symptom. Reverting to the 1.3.98-tm firmware fixes the issue.

With an old D-Link low end router, reconnecting after a failure is completed after 5 seconds and nobody cares, but the RV rebooting takes almost 2 minutes which is actually noticed...I also have some trouble getting VPN running, QuickVPN as well as normal IPsec, using either Shrewsoft or Greenbow as clients. get this router running with 3rd party VPN clients?

They assure me that they are ipv6 ready and assume the problem is on my end. All they want to do is have me connect one computer up to my modem. What good is that when I have a network that needs service. The router needs to be working not just one pc. My ipv4 is working perfectly. It is obtaining all information automaticly.

I want to roll out IPv6 on all these networks and have set up a test environment for this.I did start with a factory-defaulted router with a fixed public IPv4 address. IPv4 network access does work as expected.With the 6to4 option disabled, the RV082's IPv6 routing table contains several entries for local addresses, but not public ones, as expected. When enabling the 6to4 transition function as described in SBKB article #567, three new entries are created: [code]
With the router's diagnostic ping function I can ping the next 6to4 relay on IPv4 (192.88.99.1) and IPv6 (2002:c058:6301::). But I cannot ping that next hop address given as default route (::c058:6301).The RV does advertise routes with the correct 6to4 prefix on the LAN side, and the clients connected to it configure themselves with appropriate addresses. However I was unable to ping any IPv6 both in the 2002::/16 as well as in the 2000::/15 range from any system on the RV's LAN side. When trying to add a static route which routes the 2000:: prefix with prefix length 15 to next hop 2002:c058:6301:: with metric 1, I keep getting the message "Please input IPv6 Address with correct format!"could there something wrong with this default route? How can it be changed? And what is the problem with the route I am trying to add?

I have no idea how to route IPv6. My provider has provided me with a subnet. This subnet is for example 1:1:1::/48
The router of the provider is located at 1:1:1::1 and my router should get 1:1:1::2(Cisco router). Every subnet I want to create must be routed by 1:1:1::2, for example if I want to create 1:1:1:1111::/64 it needs to be routerd by 1:1:1::2
How do I configure this on the RV220w?
Question 2.
I have the possibility to create vlans on the RV220W. I can configure IPv4 addressen per vlan. Only for IPv6 this is not possible.How do I configure this or when will new software be released to configure this?Or do I have to edit the configuration file?
What are the IPv6 anycast addresses using for?, are they some kind of broadcast? I have a router 2811 I'm configuring ipv6, do I need to use these addresses?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed that the recently released firmware version 1.2.0.9 for the RV110W router mentions in the release notes that DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation is now supported.
Does that mean that this feature will also be implemented in some future firmware release (if we ever see one) for the RV220W router? This is the method used by most if not all ISPs around the world (e.g. Comcast) for IPv6 and the only one RV220W does not currently support. P.S. As of beta version 1.0.4.13 there is no support for IPv6 Prefix Delegation.

Internet still runs great on the old WRT54G. Is this WRVS4400 DOA? Or is there some arcane setting the quickstart guide overlooks? OR?

It uses the 4400n's vlan IP as the default route. What I'm trying to ultimately achieve is to configure the 4400n as an access point for our "private" network on vlan1 and also "guest" access to the internet on vlan2.

The office is connected to the outside world through a MODEM (Sagemcom 2864 Connection Hub). This MODEM is also a wireless router. It's DHCP server provides addresses 192.168.2.x.The WRVS4400N's WAN port is connected to one of the LAN ports on the MODEM. It's IP address from the MODEM is 192.168.2.x. The WRVS4400N provides addresses 192.168.21.x to devices connected to it.We have a DynDNS account and are using the DDNS client on the WRVS4400N router to connect to it.At home, we have a DIR-655 router with IP Sec Passthru enabled. The router provides IP addresses 192.168.1.x for all devices connected to it. I am fairly sure there are no issues with the router setup at home since I am able to VPN into the office of my full-time job without any problems. I have tried just about everything I can think of but have not been able to get this to work. setting up the Local and Remote Group Settings on the WRVS4400N and the IP address settings in IP Securitas?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have successfully got QuickVPN working from Windows 7 64bit into my WRVS4400n. The router is sat behind another router/modem (Belkin) as the UK uses PPPoA and the WRVS4400n doesn't.So I set up DMZ and changed the DHCP to always allocate 10.x.x.2 on the Belkin which is the WAN side for the WRVS4400n as it is the only thing attached.I have now noticed, and I'm not sure whether it was the case before, that the DNS that the WRVS4400 is showing is the LAN address for the Belkin Modem/Router (10.x.x.1), not 192.x.x.1 for the WRVS4400n itself. I assumed setting the Static DNS 1 on the WRVS4400n would do it, but it didn't?When I connect into the network with QuickVPN, the computer names do not show even though I have selected the option in QuickVPN?
