Cisco Routers :: WRVS4400N V2 And IPv6 Traffic Bridge Between Wi-Fi And Ethernet?

Jun 9, 2011

I have on my ethernet linux box, that is responsible for IPv6. This box is configured as IPv6 gateway from my network and it also sends RA to the network. All devices on ethernet network can work on IPv6 without problem. Clients, that are connected to WiFi, they just receive the RA from this box -> this packet is sended over WRVS4400N to the wifi network. But all other traffic do not pass the WRVS4400N, so the wifi client is not able to ping the IPv6 gateway. There is no problem on IPv4, there the wifi client is able to communicate with any ethernet device.I have tested WRVS4400N setting "ipv4 only". If I switch on "ipv4 and ipv6", than all devices will get some additional IPv6 adresses and the communication from WiFi client to IPv6 router is not working again. How to configure the WRVS4400N to bridge all IPv6 traffic between WiFi and ethernet?

Cisco Routers :: WRVS4400N - VPN Tunnel Up But No Outgoing Traffic?

Jan 29, 2012

we've buyed a WRVS4400N to create a IPSEC VPN tunnel to our client in order to access some applications.

After a while trying to configure the router, we have archieved it and the VPN tunnel is up. We can see the tunnel up from here and from client's side as well.

Our client supposendly have created the tunnel in order to access a list of specific IPs in the range 10.113.x.x, but if we try to access this IPs via telnet whe cannot obtain any response.

Making a tracert, we obtain...
C:UsersHuexxx>tracert 10.113.56.177
Traza a 10.113.56.177 sobre caminos de 30 saltos como máximo.
1     1 ms     1 ms     1 ms  192.168.0.1
2     *        *        *     Tiempo de espera agotado para esta solicitud.
3     *        *     ^C

... and therefor the client doesn't receive any packet at its firewall.

I've tried to establish a static route for 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 to their remote gateway, but I'm unable to add any entry to static routing list... The router tries to do something, but afterall I cannot see the new entry...

What can I do to route the traffic through the tunnel?

Cisco Wireless :: WRVS4400N - Get IPv6 Prefix From WAN Side Of Router?

Oct 9, 2012

Since this router already set up for IPv6 and Dual-Stack traffic, would it be possible to give it the ability to get its IPv6 prefix from the WAN side of the router.

Example:

I have Comcast, and as long as my modem and router support IPv6, with the router also supporting DHCPv6-PD to get the /64 prefix from comcast.

I now have an RV180W so this is not an issue for me, but my father is inheriting the WRVS4400N from me and he is also on Comcast.

Cisco Wireless :: WRVS4400N Won't Route All Traffic Over IPsec

Dec 15, 2011

All of my remote sites use various routers to route all of their traffic via IPsec.  However, I have one WRVS4400N w/firmware 2.0.2.1 configured with a working tunnel.  My issue is I need to set the Remote Group to 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 so all traffic is forced via IPsec tunnel and not out the local gateway.  When I do the error, Remote Security Group and Local Security Group cannot be in the same network. However, it works with Cisco/Linksys RV042.

Linksys Wireless Router :: EA3500 Ethernet Ports Do Not Support Ipv6?

I have my router updated with the latest firmware and I'm pretty sure all the settings are correct but I'm only getting a max transfer rate of 144Mbps. I know this because I use InSSIDer 3 to analyse my wifi network etc. I stream movies over my network and while DVD quality movies play fine, HD movies tend to freeze and buffer a lot. I have the router's channel width set to 40Mhz, so I know that's not the problem. Strangely, I also use a Netgear wifi extender with the MR3420 and it's max rate is 300Mbps.

Cisco WAN :: Bridge DSL To Ethernet (877)

Jun 22, 2012

I've got an 877 configured and working just fine as a NATing DSL router, but I'd now like to add an ASA beside it. I've got an extra IP from the ISP so what I'd like to do is bridge the DSL interface to one of the switch ports on the 877 and plug the ASA in there.

I've created a bridge group, put the ATM0.1 in it and then tried to put a switchport in it and get:

FastEthernet1 does not support bridging

So, I created an SVI and put that in the bridge-group and added Fa1 as an access member of that VLAN, but nothing seems to come out the interface to the ASA.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT54G What Is An Ethernet Bridge

Jul 2, 2011

These questions are only in relation to the above Wireless Router (v6, FW-v1.02 [2010]) :

1. What is an Ethernet Bridge (the basic authoritative definition), and besides gaming, what are they generally used for in a business setting?

2. What are VPN settings in a Router used for, and can a VPN be configured on a remote PC without them?

3.  Utilizing bridging, etc., can I utilize my WRT54G as a makeshift Range Expander as long as the primary router doesnt have WEP key requirements?  The current WIFI doesnt reach my PC, so I thought I could configure my router midway in hopes of extending the other routers' signal, via some kind of bridging if necessary.  Naturally, there would only be a wireless connection between routers.

4.  How can I setup a simple Captive Portal on this router?

D-Link DAP-1522 :: Ethernet Ports Isolated In Bridge Mode

Jun 13, 2012

I have a DAP-1522 in my den that I am connecting as a bridge to a Netgear WNDR3800 that in turn is connected to a cable modem in my living room.  I have multiple PC's connected to the DAP-1522 via the Ethernet Ports.  All the Ethernet connected PC's are getting IP addresses from my Netgear WNDR3800 via DHCP and can access the Internet fine.  The weird thing is the PC's connected to the DAP-1522 through the Ethernet ports can't see each other - they are isolated from each other.  I can see the DAP-1522 hard wired PC's from a laptop connected wirelessly through the Netgear WNDR3800 but the PC's wired to the DAP-1522 can't see each or communicate to each other via IP, though they can communicate to anything else on the Netgear WNDR3800 wireless network or Internet.Only the PC's connected to the DAP-1522 via the Ethernet ports are isolated from each other.  Very strange.  This is a problem because I have a NAS device I want to connect to the DAP-1522 that will be shared by the PCs in my den.  I do software development and want access between the PC's and NAS device at Ethernet Gigabit speed. I am using default configurations for the DAP-1522.  It appears that firmware for the bridging function if funky.  I am on firmware version 1.41.  The hardware release is A1.Not sure if it is an issue with the DAP-1522 or the Netgear WNDR3800.

D-Link DIR-655 :: Connected A Wired Weather Internet Bridge To Another Ethernet Port

Feb 14, 2013

I have the DIR-655, Rev. B running 2.07NA firmware, and have a strange problem with my wired clients.  I have my primary computer/desktop PC connected via wired connection.  I also have several wireless clients (laptop, iPad, iPhones, etc.).  All have been performing normally.  However, in December I connected a wired weather internet bridge to another ethernet port on the DIR-655.

It functions as it is supposed to, and all other connected devices do as well. But here's the problem - whenever I use the desktop PC (the only other wired connection) to do anything on the internet (mostly just web browsing ... I don't stream media from the internet on it, I don't do torrents....nothing out of the ordinary, and nothing really of high bandwidth), the wired weather bridge cannot communicate with its associated website.  This continues as long as I'm using the desktop PC.  When I stop using the desktop, the weather bridge resumes normally.

I have researched the weather bridge, and it is simply doing POST transactions (or so I'm told) to the website listening to it.  It doesn't wait for acknowledgements or anything...just keeps POSTing updates. I tried reserving an IP for the weather bridge and the desktop, enabling QoS, and prioritizing the weather bridge (100 vs. desktop at 125), but it didn't work.  I've tried moving the weather bridge into the DMZ. I'm totally baffled how just using the desktop to browse the internet could completely block the traffic from the weather bridge.

On the weather bridge support site, they suggested that I insure I'm not connected in gigabit speeds from my computer to the router, because in the past that has been known to cause issues on clients not running that speed, but I don't think my desktop is connected in that fashion.  According to the settings, it can do 10 or 100, full or half.  I have it set to AUTO.

switchport mode trunk
switchport trunk native vlan 2
switchport trunk allowed vlan 10,20,30,40

The wireless mesh between the RAP and MAP works fine. I can connect a device to the MAP wirelessly and access the network with no problem but I can not get anything to work that connects to the switch that is connected to the MAP ethernet port.

Cisco Routers :: RV082 IPv6 Tunneling With 6to4

Apr 28, 2013

I have several RV082 routers in production, most of them on IPv4-only access. I want to roll out IPv6 on all these networks and have set up a test environment for this.I did start with a factory-defaulted router with a fixed public IPv4 address. IPv4 network access does work as expected. With the 6to4 option disabled, the RV082's IPv6 routing table contains several entries for local addresses, but not public ones, as expected. When enabling the 6to4 transition function as described in SBKB article #567, three new entries are created: [code]

With the router's diagnostic ping function I can ping the next 6to4 relay on IPv4 (192.88.99.1) and IPv6 (2002:c058:6301::). But I cannot ping that next hop address given as default route (::c058:6301).The RV does advertise routes with the correct 6to4 prefix on the LAN side, and the clients connected to it configure themselves with appropriate addresses. However I was unable to ping any IPv6 both in the 2002::/16 as well as in the 2000::/15 range from any system on the RV's LAN side. When trying to add a static route which routes the 2000:: prefix with prefix length 15 to next hop 2002:c058:6301:: with metric 1, I keep getting the message "Please input IPv6 Address with correct format!"could there something wrong with this default route? How can it be changed? And what is the problem with the route I am trying to add?

Cisco Routers :: RV220W - Routing IPv6 Subnet

Feb 27, 2013

I have a few questions regarding IPv6.

Question 1.
I have no idea how to route IPv6. My provider has provided me with a subnet. This subnet is for example 1:1:1::/48

The router of the provider is located at 1:1:1::1 and my router should get 1:1:1::2(Cisco router). Every subnet I want to create must be routed by 1:1:1::2, for example if I want to create 1:1:1:1111::/64 it needs to be routerd by 1:1:1::2

How do I configure this on the RV220w?

Question 2.
I have the possibility to create vlans on the RV220W. I can configure IPv4 addressen per vlan. Only for IPv6 this is not possible. How do I configure this or when will new software be released to configure this?Or do I have to edit the configuration file?
