Linksys Wireless Router :: EA3500 Ethernet Ports Do Not Support Ipv6?

May 29, 2012

Region : Ireland
Model : TL-MR3420
Hardware Version : V2
Firmware Version :

I have my router updated with the latest firmware and I'm pretty sure all the settings are correct but I'm only getting a max transfer rate of 144Mbps. I know this because I use InSSIDer 3 to analyse my wifi network etc. I stream movies over my network and while DVD quality movies play fine, HD movies tend to freeze and buffer a lot. I have the router's channel width set to 40Mhz, so I know that's not the problem. Strangely, I also use a Netgear wifi extender with the MR3420 and it's max rate is 300Mbps.

Linksys Wireless Router :: EA3500 Disabled And Enabled IPV6 On Network Card

Apr 9, 2013

I purchased a Linksys EA3500 about two months ago, brought it home and set it up with my DSL provider and everything was great, until sometime last week, and since then my download speeds have just plummeted to basically nothing. I did some troubleshooting but I cannot seem to find what the issue is. I have checked all the cables etc, and I know that it is definitely something with the router itself..My current speeds are as follows (I am paying for a 5mb connection) with the EA3500.Ping of 15ms Download speed of .67mbps, Upload speed of .60mbps.When I remove the router and hook straight to the DSL modem I get the following results.Pink of 12ms Download speed of 4.89mbps, Upload speed of .60mbps
- I have tried to reset the router both by holding the reset button and through the configuration application.
- I have enabled and disabled wireless to see if that was slowing things down
- I have plugged in my old WRT54G and I get the 12ms, 4.89mbps,.60mbps results on it (so I know its the EA3500)
- I tried putting the computer in the DMZ
- I have changed the ports that the computer is plugged into
- I have disabled and enabled IPV6 on both router and network card
- Firmware version -

Linksys Wireless Router :: Open Ports On EA3500 For XBL?

Nov 13, 2012

The last few weeks I've been having problems with my 360 Slim. Sometimes it boots up just fine, other times it wont connect to XBL at all. Some days I have a open NAT, other days I have a moderate NAT.
I have followed the steps on the portforward website. I make a static IP and all that good stuff. I open the ports, using the IP address the Portforward static IP program gives me. After that...My computer stops working. It fails to connect me to any websites at all.I'm running a Linksys ea3500 router.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Firmware Upgrade For WRT120N To Support IPV6?

Jul 22, 2010

IPV4 IP addresses will be running out in less than a year and I wanted to know, will there be a firmware update for WRT120N to support IPV6?
Also, if I have to buy another router to support IPV6, I'm going to buy a D-Link. It's nothing personal, I just find it absolutely idiotic that a router that supports wireless-N doesn't support IPV6. You have to ask your self, how does the standard IPV6 spec thats a few years old not make it to the final product of a router, but a non-standard wireless-N spec implementation somehow got the O.K....?

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 Ethernet Ports Stop Working?

Oct 27, 2011

I've lost connectivity with all but one of the ethernet ports on my E4200 router.  My desktop PC was connected to Port 1 but stopped working.  Network troubleshooting via my Windows 7 Dell 8300 said I was not connected and to check the cable.  I did that with several different cables and tried the usual router and modem reset.  Only through trial and error did I find that I could connect to port 4 which is why I am able to write this post.  What could have changed to disable ports 1-3 and can I get them working again?  No issues with wireless connectivity.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Ea3500 Lan But No Wifi?

Jul 18, 2012

HP Pavilion dv7-6135dx Ent Pc  Win7 Home Prem 64
Motorola Surfboard Modem
Linksys EA3500 Router
Netgear 10/100 24 port switch
my wife bought me this EA3500 for Father's Day this year.  It's only been hooked up for a couple of weeks (we were in the middle of a move during Father's Day), but now I have no wifi on either band.  My wife can no longer connect to it either.  We have tried completely resetting it, we have reset the modem, the switch, laptops, everything.  Still no wifi.  It worked out of the box, but now we have nothing.  Does HP needs a certain type of driver?  Our iPhones show connected and surf the brower's and FB app with no issues while in wifi mode, but then again, I can pull the ethernet from the internet port and the phone's still show connected (good job, iOS).Cable from main splitter runs to basement where the modem is located.  Modem ethernet feed up a wall to a wall plate where the router is.  Router then feeds back to the switch.  The switch then sends the IP throughout the house for the LAN lines, and the EA3500 feeds all of the wireless devices (used to).  So, Cable box, modem, router, switch.  Router is currently good for LAN only.  I am connected to it via LAN right now, 2 feet from my laptop.
In connections:IPv4/IPv6 both "No Internet Access"  (for IPv4, if you change a setting in the setup, it becomes "Internet Access" for about 3 seconds.)Media State: EnabledSpeed: Alternates between 72Mbps and 144Mbps

Linksys Wireless Router :: EA3500 Guest Access Keeps Going Down

Sep 7, 2012

The guest network on the router keeps going down. It can be seen but it cannot be connected to. Sometimes it works for a day or 2 and then it doesn't. I have to constantly babysit the network and it is entirely frustrating because the only fix is to reboot the router.I have tried factory resetting several times.I have tried re-flashing the fw.I'm using the non-CCC fw because CCC had way, way too many issues. These routers have been out for months and many people have been having issues and somehow Cisco doesn't see fit to work on firmware that stabilizes them at all? It's like, they release a router and then forget about it - the next batch comes along, often the same guts with a different shell and it's the same thing over again. I had a WRT610N and I said I'd never buy another Cisco after that but I broke my rule because of being lured by these "App enabled" features, which mind you have nothing at all over the competition since the CCC doesn't even work for most people.

Linksys Wireless Router :: EA3500 HDD File Corruption?

Mar 5, 2013

I have recently bought a cisco EA3500 router for my home network and i am pretty surprised to see that a router from the world leader in the networking domain cannot perform as expected.
The first problem i had was that the network (wired and wireless) was dropping from time to time for a couple of minutes with the power led of the router blinking. I turned off the log feature of the router and it seems that until now the problem is resolved.
Now, the second and, at least as annoying as the first, is that i have a 640gb usb hdd connected to the router, formatted NTFS. It seems that every now and then a file gets corrupted, that is, it is transformed into a folder! And it cannot be recovered without pulling out the hdd and using a 3rd parth software for file recovery.
I have the latest firmware. Should i switch back to the classic firmware instead of the "fancy" new one? I really need my files on that drive, so i cannot risk loosing them in this random manner.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Using EA3500 In Bridge Mode?

Feb 16, 2013

I bought the EA3500 nine months ago mainly for the USB port (for a NAS). I recently replaced Comcast Cable with Verizon FIOS. So I now have the FIOS router as my main router (its' IP address is I put the EA3500 in bridge mode to extend the (wired) network. I could get: After going in to bridge mode (with DHCP), I can not log in to the EA3500 (IP address assigned by the FIOS router). I connect my computer directly to one of  the EA3500 numbered ports (after various combinations of rebooting EA3500 and rebooting PC). It just continues to say "waiting" and never logs in. Tried choosing a static route (tried both and with, gateway and DNS1 = with no luck.Since I can't log in, I cannot set up my NAS on the USB port of the EA3500 (so I haven't gotten far enough to determine if the USB port will even work in bridge mode).Thought about ensuring the latest firmware but since I can't log in I can't do that. (And after a hard reset EA3500 IP address is which creates conflict with FIOS)

Linksys Wireless Router :: EA3500 Via CCC Is Difficult To Connect

Aug 14, 2012

After using the newest firmware for CCC, I've found it is very convenient, but only in some ways. Now, I think I find it is uncomfortable, very disappointed and waste lot of times. Each time I try to access to CCC, it took me like 5 mins to access the web page. I understand is use when you are outside of your home network, but when I access it directly from my home (local IP), why should I need to connect via a CCC(?) I want a local connect to my router which is a faster access than via a server.
Sometimes, connect via an IP of the router, it say can't connect because of internet connection down, but actually I can still access internet except access my own router. I like the easy setup of CCC but maybe I need to switch back to non-CCC?

Linksys Wireless Router :: EA2500 Won't Connect To EA3500

Apr 30, 2012

I bought a new router today because my WRT54GL was giving me some fits. I purchased an EA3500 and I'm using an EA2500 adapter on the desktop since the router can't reach it via ethernet.  Some of my early troubles with this combo began with not being able to test upload bandwidth.  It would just time out and give an error via the built in Cisco (OOKLA) utitliy and through after which, the network would show no internet access and I'd have to reset the adapter.  After trying to troubleshoot that issue it grew into zero internet access for my desktop however my Nexus would have wifi access without issue.  If I'd startup in safe mode with networking I'd have net access shortly and then it would quit about 30 seconds after startup.  I've tried uninstalling all drivers for the wireless NIC and the Cisco Connect software while doing everything manually but nothing changes.  This PC simply won't gain internet access with the EA3500 or even allow me to access the router through the default gateway IP.  I've since put the WRT45GL back in place and I have access again with my EA2500 adapter.  I should note that with the EA3500 in place, if I disconnected from my wireless I couldnt see any networks until I unplugged the adapter and reinserted it into the USB port (i've also tried many different ports).  I've named the SSID's of the two routers differently, tried a manual setup of the wifi, tried the CD setup, the wifi protected setup, no security, and WPA2 to no avail.  I can't seem to get the EA2500 adapter and the EA3500 router to get along.  I'm running W7 x64 Pro.

Linksys Wireless Router :: EA3500 Printer Connection Via USB?

Dec 7, 2012

I've recently purchases a Canon MF3010 Multifunction printer, and connected this to my EA3500 router's USB port. Used Cisco Connect to setup the printer, and the print function is working fine.
The issue is with the scan function. It appears the default functionality of the router is to only activate the connection to the printer when a print job is fired off. When this connection is active, the scan functionality works fine.
Another way to activate the connection to the printer to allow for scanning would be to go through
Cisco Connect>Computers and devices>PrinterWhile the process is running (searching for printer), the connection is active as well, and scanning works fine. When the process is closed, scanning no longer works, with an error message stating that communication to the printer cannot be established.
Is there a simpler way to keep the connection to the printer active, or some sort of configuration to automatically establish this connection for scanning?
