Realtek Rtl8190 Wifi Connection Breaks Sometimes When A Session Is Started
Jun 17, 2012I have had intermittent problems with this PCI 802.11n adapter since I installed it. There isn't a new driver available, so that's not a solution. Issue is despite a strong signal, WiFi connection breaks sometimes when a session (either e-mail or browser) is started.The bar signal indicator goes from 5 bars to none, and mouse-over shows "no connection." About half the time the PC locks up (frozen cursor, no response to ctrl-alt-del, etc.).some of the time, the PC recovers after several minutes or more, other times locks up completely and the PC must be either forced reset or powered down manually. I've run CC Cleaner and check out the registry but can't find anything that works. PC is a 2.4GHz Celeron 1GB RAM running WinXP SP3 with all updates.Not related to browser; behavior is the same with Firefox, Chrome, IE. Also, other PCs on same network have no issues.On occasion I've triggered the lock-up while I had performance monitor running, and in the cases where the machine resumed running by itself, history showed no overloads typical of lock-ups. This PC is used almost exclusively for basic e-mail and browsing.

Feb 26, 2007I would like to connect to the built in accounts on the wrvs4400n from a mac VPN client. I am new VPN and have not found much information on how to establish this connection. Since Linksys seems determined to rely on Quickvpn, and provides no information on what it is actually doing under the hood I can not figure out how to configure any of the VPN clients available, or the built in VPN tools, for OS X (10.4.8). The only information I have been able to find seems to relate to setting up VPN Tunnels, or running a server behind the wrvs4400n and using one of the VPN passthrough options. I would like to connect directly to the built in accounts, how to set this up on a mac?

Jan 10, 2013After some time of usage (typically days), I notice that Bonjour networking degrades. That is, the various Apple computers on my network can no longer see each other via Apple's Bonjour protocol. They can still connect directly using IP addresses however. The only solution seems to be a reset of the router. Are there some detailed logs I can look into to determine what the problem may be? The logs shown in the web interface don't seem detailed enough.

Our management people only allow HTTPS through the management firewall farm, and don't want to change this policy. So I need a low cost HTTPS to HTTP conversion, ideally on Cisco hardware like an ASA5505. It only needs one concurrent user. Is there a way to configure an ASA 5505 to terminate the inbound HTTPS seession and re-originate a HTTP management session to the Alteon? It looks to me as if the Clientless SSL VPN might do the job.Is there a way to do a SSH to telnet conversion on the ASA, or on a router?

May 6, 2013what would be causing my management HTTPS session to a SF200-24 to suddenly timeout? I receive "The session has been timed out. You may log in again" few mins after logging into to switch.Sometime it happens within 45seconds, other times after 3mins, timouts are not consistent. And, i was not idle when it timed-out. My HTTPs idle time-out is set for 10mins.
I had a continuous PING going to managment IP, and it did not drop any pings when session timed-out.Interface stats are also clean. I tried IE, FireFox, Chrome and all are timming out.
I've changed the HTTP default idle-time out from 1 to 10 and my HTTPs stopped timing out. Management Access Authentication is cleary set for HTTPs, and the Idle-timeout for HTTPs was set for 10mins since install. Yet, adjusting the HTTP idle-timeout cleared the issue.

Aug 3, 2012The latest Mountain Lion (OSX 10.8) update somehow broke the Cisco VUSB software. I downloaded and installed Mountain Lion yesterday, and now the VUSB software is not working correctly. When I try to connect to my printer, an error appears saying the connection failed, but the dashboard shows it's connected. When I try to print, the printer is shown as unavailable. I have Cisco VUSB version 1.0.0 for OSX and the EA3500 Router.

Sep 23, 2012I want to set up an E1200 as a wireless access point for guests, and ordinarily I'd be happy to connect it LAN-to-WAN and have it create its own subnet, but I need to connect one office PC to it also because connecting the E1200 to the main gateway displaces that office PC from the last Ethernet port on the main router.
So I disabled DHCP on the E1200 and connected it LAN-to-LAN. The modem is at a fixed, non-configurable address of 192.168.0.1/255.255.0.0 and the main router is at 10.0.0.1/255.255.255.0. I set the E1200 to a static IP of 10.0.0.12/255.255.255.0.The E1200's primary wireless connection works fine. The guest access connects, but it does not prompt for a password and web pages generate a "failed to load" sort of message.I temporarily connected the E1200 as the main router and re-enabled DHCP, though I kept the static IP of 10.0.0.12/255.255.255.0, and in this configuration the guest access worked. I observed that it connected via 192.168.33.1/guestaccess.cgi (or something very similar to that).

Feb 1, 2013I recently replaced an older linksys router with an EA4500. Everything is working fine except for a Lenovo Thinkpad we have. The Lenovo will drop the wireless connection and the only way to reconnect is to disconnect the wireless and reconnect on the Lenovo. With the previous router the Lenovo did not have this issue.There are a number of Apple devices also on the network that do not have this issue either. I've updated the wireless NIC drivers on the Lenovo to the latest and greatest, no changes. Again, problem started when the EA4500 was added.

When I try to access web management interface of my wrt160nl (Firmware Version: 1.00.01 B15) via HTTPS I'm receiving the foolowing message:"Continue to this website (not recommended)." If I click on it another error page appears:"Certification error: Navigation blocked. There is a problem with this website's security certificate"
At the same time I'm able to acccess the management interface via HTTPS, but from my laptop with Win7 & IE9. There if I click on the red Certificate Error > View certificate and the certificate information is:Issued by: Linksys Issued to: Linksys Valid from : 1.1.2009 to 1.1.2010
So I'd like to know if I could update the router certificate or what settings should I use in IE10 in order to access the web management interface via HTTPS?
WRT54G V1 - Internet Connection Breaks Every 3 Seconds
Feb 12, 2011I have 3 computers at my home, a WRT54G V1 router.
2 of the computers are connected wired to the router, the internet on them works fine. My other computer I have connected via wireless, and when I try to go on the internet every 3 seconds it is saying not available. Now one thing I noticed was that when I connected to the wireless network it renamed it to my computers service tag. I confirmed this via a friends laptop. From "Busted" to "DCLZMRH1_Network", defenetly not something I did.
When this wireless computer is connected, ALL computers on the network begin having the same problem where each 3 seconds everybody is disconnected randomly. However as soon as I turn the wireless computer off, everything goes back to normal on the wired computers.
I have successfuly replicated this issue using 2 different wireless adapters, one USB, and one "wired" the one you put on the inside (lol) I have Brighthouse Networks cable internet

Linksys Wireless Router :: E1000 And E4200 Not Accessible Via HTTPS
Feb 2, 20122 linksys routers a E1000 (fw v2.1.02) and a E4200 (fw v1.0.03) aren't accessable via HTTPS. Both via LAN https://router-ip and via wan https://isp-router-ip:8080 . Both routers are configured correctly (allready did a rerstore to fact. defaults. while having a chat with linksys live chat support). Everything without a result.
Ie9 doesn't accept the linksys/cisco certificate. after the first warning ie9 just sais that it's unable to show the page .
I did some testing and found that it doesn't work with a win7 +IE9 (up to date updates) and also not on a win XP +IE8 (up to date updates), win XP +chrome (up to date updates).
And it works on a old image (virtual Pc) of WIN XP- IE6 (no up to date updates) and win XP(up to date updates) +firefox (older version) .
i tried to export the certificate using the xp-ie6 virtual pc. and import it else where, but that works within the lan. Over the WAN it's a " NO GO" . Is this a " Microsoft" or a " linksys/cisco" issue?

Feb 29, 2012I can not access my Linksys E3000 router via https://192.168.1.1.Before this mishap, I was able to gain access to my Linksys E3000 router via http://192.168.1.1 and/or the Cisco Connect software application on Windows 7. Yesterday, I went into my router's administration page and disabled http, and enabled https. I then closed out all browsers, restarted them and entered https://192.168.1.1
After that, I learned quickly I made a huge mistake to make these changes. I simply can not access my router admin wired or wirelessly. Accessing the internet works great, but router admin page is a no go.Firefox and IE states, "There is a problem with this website's security certificate." and was unable to proceed.Firefox even gave me the option to accept a security exemption to proceed, but that failed.
I have also tried using the Cisco Connect utility, and that also failed. I have taken these steps and not been able to access my router's admin page.I don't want to take the last final resort to reset my router and re-enter my settings again. I know I saved the router's backup file somewhere, but can't find it.Is there another way for me to gain access via https with http disabled? All I want to do now is go back in and change it back to enable http access.

Feb 16, 2012I was unable to access the web admin on my WRT160n v3 w/ latest firmware this morning. Reset config to defaults & was able to get in. Enabled HTTPS access & disabled HTTP access & was right back where I started; reset to defaults again & left both boxes checked. Can access via HTTP, but HTTPS requests get refused/reset.
The reason I needed access was that when I booted up my laptop this morning, my wireless card wasn't picking up an IP address via WIFI, only worked via ethernet, so I need to see what was going on there — several reboots of the router didn't fix, nor has it fixed the HTTPS access problem described above.

Oct 22, 2011Just upgraded my E4200 to firmware 1.0.03 (from 1.0.01). I have some new issues, questions, and some outstanding issues.
1) Web interface over https is now painfully slow.
2) Does DDNS work in bridge mode? DynDNS allows the sending of an update without an IP address, so it should be able to work.
3) Does accessing the management interface in bridge mode count as local or remote?
4) I'd really like to be able to get WOL working through the router. I managed to create a static DHCP reservation for 192.168.1.254 to ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff, but I don't think the router added that entry to the ARP table, is there any way to do this.
(I think have WOL forwarded to 192.168.1.254). 5) Should the router be providing some local dns hostnames? For example I have the device name set up in the local network setup, but it won't resolve. Similar for connected devices, especially those with with a DHCP reservation. 6) In bridge mode, does it matter which port is used to connect to the other network device? Does it have to be the WAN port?

Nov 23, 2012bought EA4500 router and successfully installed. The configuration of the desktop i use is - Windows 7 Home Premium SP 1, IE 9.0 and Chrome -23 Dual core Pentium, 2.5 GHZ, 2GB RAM Issue - Many websites, perticularly secured (HTTPS) are not opening up with new router. (Net banking, yahoo mail etc) I didn't face any issue with my old router which is WRT54GH, it is quite old router and did work excellent and working also. I had two calls with CISCO support team, they did check everything and came to conclusion that the issue is with router and asked to get it replaced. I did that but facing same issue. This time i connected my friends laptop to EA4500 along with my personal desktop. My company laptop has following configuration - Windows 7 Enterprise, IE 8.0 Dual core Pentium, 2.67 GHZ, 2GB RAM I tried yahoo mail, net banking websites on my desktop and friends laptop, these websites didn't open in my desktop but no issues faced on friend's laptop. I also noticed that cisco, apple sites are not opening on my desktop but no issue on friends laptop. I tried same thing with my old router WRT54GH, and all sites opened on both the PCs.

Mar 29, 2013I am trying to log into my WRT610N version 2.0 Router admin page 192.168.1.1 using the secure HTTPS://192.168.1.1 protocol I have the router local management setting to allow both http and https access login:192.168.1.1/Management.asp I am using Microsoft IE version 10 and Firefox version 19.02 and latest Chrome browsers and none of them will work using the HTTPS protocol.This used to work in the past using older versions of the browsers though I would see a certicificate error warning.I have 2.00.01 build 15 firmware installed and I already tried reseting the router. Perhaps the router needs new firmware update to handle this with the latest browsers?
